5 years on it seems this interview is more relevant now then it was then, Lineker is a really decent man and happy to support him using his voice for what he sees as important and unfair.
His point about parents shouting on the touchline whilst their kids play is so true. I played at an academy for a 1st league team when I was younger after being scouted at my school. I was invited to come along and I was pretty good. After 3 months of going twice a week to train and play and getting shouted at by other children's dads, I just couldn't continue. It was horrible and it scared the shit out of me. Really unhelpful and detrimental to the sport. It's unpleasant even for the most determined child
@@maxf7superstriker625 To be honest, we developed our own ways of dealing with 'shouty' parents. Personally, if a teammate's dad had shouted at me, I'd have battered him (the teammate) after the game. There are always ways and means of dealing with folk.
The problem with 'refugees' is that the majority on the boats were not coming from Syria, and the boats were filled with grown men. Very rarely would you see women or children on them. They are economic migrants not refugees.
I agree with Gary that one should be able to have different political views with others and discuss them on an amicable basis. It’s a shame James O’Brien can’t take a similar stance on his LBC radio show instead the awful belittling sarcasm that he does it really puts me off him as a person and a presenter.
Very interesting and illuminating. As someone who finally gave up on football a couple of years ago, it's good to hear he's trying to stop the rot in what used to be a beautiful game, played on an even playing field.
Stop talking and start setting an example. Convert your large homes to accommodate as many migrants as you can. Let them be part of your life, let them play with your children, find them jobs and teach them how to fit in to our society. Then come back and tell us how virtuous you are.
He feels "sorry for the refugees" Ignoring the fact that most are NOT refugees but economic migrants from Africa- how many does he have living in his mansion? Or does he feels so sorry for them he wants them to live next door to you in Rotherham.
He has twice housed refugees, giving credence to his compassionate opinions. He did not need to and tried to keep it on the downlow. He helped people who needed help, rather than labelling and judging them. His empathy to other human beings during hard times is not only commendable, it also clearly shows he treats people as humans, which we all are. Illegals, refugees, migrants are still people. @@mb7529 Do u have a muslim refugee in your house ?
No wonder the rest of the free world call england britistan now, it was a shithole before with the rain and mud, now you have a mosque and a sharia court on every corner.
@@fredhills3153 stop reading the right wing Quran that is the The Daily Mail and The Sun...maybe your soreness will disappear in time. You’ll be less paranoid and start seeing others as human beings too..
@@mb7529 Put up or shut up and take a couple of homosexual loving muslims into your home and see how you get on..
@@mb7529 No wonder britistan is going down the gurglar, imagine trying to fight back with massive lefties like you ?
Gary Lineker...an exceptional human being. Thank you for being above the right wing trolls. This world needs more decent people lie yourself. Kudos for being you.
If he cares about refugees ask him how many he has has taking in in his big house
I want to see an ex-manager like Sir Alex Ferguson, Kenny Dalglish, or a Roy Keane! Great Interview!
Not the Mr nice guy he pretends to be.
Stop paying your TV license and/or watching MOTD on sat night and let's put Lineker out of work.
Why? You won’t put him out of work, he works for BT sport.
It's good to hear an honest conversation from two very intelligent men.
Where ?
What a great interview. Gary is a good 'un
Everything
Apart from paying his Tax you mean
"Everything" what a load of shit
Not good at marriage or accepting a Democratic vote
Theres 3 things he aint good at
And never won anything for England 4 now
Tbf thats not saying much
@Maggie - Is he really? He did make fun of that American footballer back in the 90's for being gay....doesn't sound so nice to me. Robbie Savage did exactly the same. :/
Maggie C-S Mr Lineker, like all the sjw left, rich, over privileged, are deluded, brainwashed idiots, living in another reality to the real one.
Mirror mirror(We only ever see ourselves reflected and how happy and at peace we are)
When the camera stops rolling I wonder which one of this pair is the man my bet is it's Lineker as O'Brien is it complete tarte
2 of Britain’s finest right here
I’m chummy with my old work boss a Conservative voter whom considers Humanitarian to be Socialist. 🏴😇❤️
He probably just dosent want to let everybody and his dog into the country like its a god given right.
Realised he doesn’t have any influence. Fool
how lovely
Gary…I’ve always been an atheist……..a moment later….Oh, my God……We don’t really think much about certain things do we?
@@sock2206 Cuckoo’s nest.

That's the luuvie lovely thing about a couple million guys like this throughout the developed world.Clever and fairly wealthy but usually living where theres a more monopolistic draw to resources in their 50 mile radius IE LONDON IE FINANCE IE MEDIA IE POLITICS IE INVESTMENT IE IE IE MAN IE MAN.
XXXXXXXXXXXX
Tomorrow either morning or night
Mic quality is on flake! Top
Just realised Gary has the same accent as Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden. But Gary is far cooler
Everything about this is wrong.
Shame Lineker's progressive views on some subjects are not shared by a belief in progressive taxation, judging by his dispute with HMRC, which is currently being heard in the High Court. Never mind, Gary; just let the "little people" make up the difference in taxation you've saved from entirely legal avoidance practices. I'm fed up with privileged millionaires spouting trendy opinions on one hand, whilst acting in a rather different way in practice.
linikEARS.proper wing nut.
u get paid alot more today....kinda feel bad for the talents back in the 80's and further back.....
RIP headphone users listening at full volume
I wonder if Gary at any point thought he should name his kids Barry and Larry...
