I've loved all 3 Dragon Age games so far, and I can't wait to play Dread Wolf. But I know a lot of the fanbase have been soured on Bioware, so I'm hoping Dread Wolf is a big success that reinvigorates the fanbase.
Origins was one of the best video game experiences as a kid growing up. Remember getting it for Christmas and literally the rest of of my Christmas break before going to back to school was nothing but that game and it was amazing. 2 wasnt as good but I definitely enjoyed the combat a bit more in it. I remember going a magic build was so much fun. The story and setting wasn't nearly as good as the 1st one but I enjoyed the game thoroughly and played through it entirely like the 1st one. As for the 3rd one. I couldnt make it more than 20 hours into the game till I just dropped it. The fake open world/ linear map system felt dated and terrible. Combat was alright but something just felt off about the game and it felt like a major step back in every way compared to the 2 games before it besides fidelity. Honestly I have no hope for Dreadwolf, I think Bioware is a shell of it's former self and the Dragon Age IP is better off in another developer's hands personally. But I do think a remastered Origins is something they could do and have good sales from.
@@brandonenke2680 I don’t understand how DAI had a “fake” open world that was linear. It was the only open world of the 3 games. DAI has loads of faults, but if anything it would have been better if it was more linear
@@brandonenke2680I thought I disliked inquisition, but then I beat the game and my entire tune shifted. I immediately went back to play with all my new knowledge and burnt 100 hours going for it all. Had a blast. Give it a chance and it holds up. Play on hard for a challenge or easy if its too tough and don't clear every map all at once in the hinterlands. Clear what you can, then do main story or inner circle when it starts to slog. If you're a fan of DA, you'll enjoy it I'm sure. 2's combat system was sick and 3's felt underwhelming in comparison but then I gave it an honest shot and I had a lot of fun.
Love Origins, it's one of my most favorite games ever, easily in my top 3. I enjoy playing DA2 too, my only issue are the recycled dungeons, but the game is good. Inquisition tho, mediocre game at best, imo. If the leaks about Dreadwolf gameplay are true, then I have no more hope for this franchise.

I’ll wait a couple of months like I do with every game, watch reviews and keep an eye on the situation, then end up buying it cheaper and when it’s playable 🤙
I personally prefer the console controls because that is what I’m used to, It plays VERY differently. Granted, I am not much of a fan of the pause-and-play systems in general, and the console version plays more like the action RPGs I’m more of a fan of. I would love a remaster that gives us the option on PC.

But the PC version is nice because that series x version is still 720p and a little buggy. They preserved the tactical nature of origins on console which is nice the main difference is the top down camera and controls.
Dragon age 2 and inquisition though they designed the whole game around the console with the MMO type questing and lack of challenging gameplay. Basically ruined the franchise imo.

It would be nice to get a DAO LE, but we all know manpower is almost at critical levels. DAD has to knock it out of the park before EA commits to hiring more people. Otherwise, we all know almost the entirety of the Bioware staff will be moved to ME5.

I agree, but is it on Game Pass? Because full price is a lot to give it a “low expectation, but open mind” try, only to find it sucks. With RPGs, sometimes it can take a bit to realize how you feel about it, so that means potentially exceeding any playtime window required for a refund. This is my issue.
4:31 - Hey, just wanted to put this in here, if anyone is experiencing crashing issues like Matty I highly recommend using a 4GB patcher to to fix some of Origin’s PC memory leak issues. This should help reduce crashing. Also if your playing with any mods that alter the appearance of characters (armor mods, body mods, etc) this can sometimes cause the game to crash when some in-engine cutscenes attempt to play (for me it was the arch-demon dreams). Hopefully this helps, but tbh I’d also love to see a proper remaster of the gem that is DAO. (I don’t know if it’s okay to link it here, but Ghil Dirthalen here on UA-cam has a DAO modding video that links to a 4GB patcher if you were interested in that potential fix)
I can confirm this. I recently played DA:O and Awakening in its entirety on PC with the 4gb Patch and I only had a few CTDs. One was because I entered an area in stealth and tried to approach a character in stealth. Redoing the same thing not in stealth didn't cause any issues. The other CTD was in Awakening fighting the silver dragon. I managed to eventually get through it by basically playing this section from a cold boot and not loading anything in first (like browsers). I think there's a big memory issue here. Apart from that, the only other issues I had were with bugs that have never been patched out, like one major one in the Warden's Keep DLC.
@@cmdr.jabozerstorer3968 This method I think is hit and miss. It worked on my old build which had an 8 core processor, but doesn't work on current build with a 16 core processor. Besides downloading the mod, lowering the graphics settings works. The really bad area's are Ostagar when your heading to the tower to light the beacon, and I think Denerim is bad for crashing. The only other method (which sucks) you don't bring a mage in your party, because at least from my experience is when most crashes occur form casting spells such as winter's grasp and cone of cold.
Just a heads up! Dragon Age Origins and 2 was developed using some homemade systems that pretty much nobody knows how to use so thats why we wont get a remaster. I hope we get a remake.

It also has some excellent banter between squadmates when driving around that evolves as the story evolves and different combos of squadmates have noticeably different banters.
At launch I played through the whole game and while it was different I thoroughly enjoyed it for its strengths. Then I went onto social media and discovered I was in the minority and most people hated it. Even sadder is that because of its poor reception the DLC was never finished and the story was left on a cliffhanger. At least the book "Mass Effect Andromeda: Annihilation" lets you know why the Quarian ship didn't show up and what happened on board, but so few people read books anymore that most people have no idea about it.
Well they can't do a lengedary edition because they lost the development files for dragon age 2 and would have to recreate it from scratch and ea wouldn't go for it. That's what one of the devs said I don't remember which one. Maybe it was David Gaider or Mike Laidlaw or someone else you'd have to check :(
First DA game was inquisition back in 2018, then played the whole trilogy in 2021. For years now I’ve assumed a 2025 release date, but if BioWare is truly ready for a 2024 release I wish them the best! I’m not even hyped anymore, sort of like ES6, just patiently waiting and setting my expectations low.

Even with the delay they still ended up rushing out the game with missing features and unoptimized. A shame, I enjoy the game but only put 30 hours in since launch. I'll jump back in fully for the dlc and when official mod support drops.
been a fan since i picked up DA:O ultimate edition in 2012. through the years of replaying the series beginning to end, reading all the novels, and lunging at every crumb of details on dreadwolf, it feels almost surreal that this game is actually likely to come out this year. patience is at the very fiber of bioware fans’ being, hope they don’t let us down :’)
I hope the new Dragon Age game is a big hit both financially and critically, and of course, that it turns out to be an amazing game! I'd love to see them follow it up with a substantial expansion, like Witcher 3's Blood and Wine. While working on that expansion, they could release a legendary edition of the game. This would keep the cash flowing and give fans a great reason to pick up another Bioware title while waiting for ME 5 to come out.
It's hard to imagine how Bioware could screw up Dreadwolf. They've already had their Starfield moment with Andromeda (I still argue its a good game despite what it could have been).
The team for Dreadwolf was changed about 4 times, i only have little hope left and that's because the OG Dragon Age creator himself is back since January 2023, Mark Darrah that is.
I’m playing Mass Effect for the first time and wow this is amazing I got the legendary edition not knowing too much about it because it was on sale fire $9.49 I’m so impressed I guess that game counts as BioWare
I'm typing this comment before even watching the video. Right now, at this point, all I'm hoping is for Dreadwolf to not suck. It doesn't even have to be much better than Inquisition, I just want it to be good.
Really looking forward to this release. DA:I was my introduction to the series on XB One, I then played Origins & DA:2. DA:I & Skyrim are the 2 games I play again and again.

IMO, if Bioware wanted the biggest chance of success for the game. they should release it early fall. Next Winter/Spring Monster Hunter IS going to eat everyone's Lunch AND Dinner.
I can't wait for Wilds so much so that I'm currently playing tf out of RiseBreak atm. Wilds will be my personal GOTY next year and no other game is even going to come close. So a Fall Dreadwolf release would be VERY wise cause I feel bad for any game that releases next to Wilds.
I'd love for another company to take what Sony Santa Monica did with God of War 2018 and Ragnarok did and make it their own. Bioware has changed their gameplay in each of these games, so if they follow that trend I think this style of gameplay could be really great!
Wether they do a legendary edition or go straight into Dreadwolf they need to add Dragon age Keep into the game so you can change your choices quickly and smoothly.
I fully intend to replay Inquisition this year to get up to speed. I've played through the base game, but I've never played Trespasser or the other DLCs.
Trespasser is almost basically essential. Really awesome proper ending to inquisition. My personal favorite though is the mine investigation one. The lore implications and confirmations are crazy.
Honestly, if you skipped Inquisition's campaign and only played Tresspasser you would barely miss anything important besides why you got the mark and friendships. Tresspasser should have been the main game.
I would love to see a Dragon Age Legendary edition. Origins was so good but it needs an update. DAII needs…some work…And maybe they could remove the bloat from DAI. Sadly, every time somebody mentions Mass Effect now I don’t think I want to play a new BioWare game. I think about Exodus. I’m looking forward to that.

Wouldn't they need to completely rebuild DAO from the ground up due to its engine that doesn't exist anymore? That said, i'd be very interested in an upgraded version.
The company has already mentioned this. In one their scrap the game and build it from scratch moments they took out any sort of strategy left in the game. It's action combat more akin to god of war. For Better or worse(most likely worse)this is what were getting.
You might be able to do a DAO+DA2 collection remaster, but DAI was made in a different engine, so I doubt that could be included. I do want a DAO+DA2 remaster collection though!
Dragon Age origins is a masterpiece, and I adore dragon age 2. dragon age inquisition was missing something that the first two had and I’m not exactly sure what
I suspect that we're not going to get a Dragon Age Legendary Edition because the three games, and now the fourth, were made with three different engines, which would make things much more difficult. All three games in the Mass Effect trilogy were made in Unreal Engine 3, which streamlined things greatly. If Dreadwolf does turn out to be an action oriented game, I'll probably not be playing it. I'm reserving judgment until the actual release, though, as with anything else.
I'm planning on buying the first two games this summer! I've heard only great things about them, and whatever could be a bother won't be with the right mods I already checked exist. Inquisition was the first DA game I ever played, two years ago, and for two years I've already been dying for the next one. I can't even imagine what it's like for those who've been waiting a DECADE
I've been waiting until DW comes out to do another playthrough to decide on the route I want to take to finish everything, especially if we get remasters.

Because I remember that statement being said about Biowares other less sold games as well as some that took quite a while after their released to be a fan favorite. This video was 10 days ago but l saw a Dragon Age Dreadwolf Huge Update video the other day and in the video they said they are changing the name From Dragon Age Dreadwolf to Dragon Age The Veilguard some fans weren’t happy about this name change because many fans like the name Dreadwolf better me included it just sounds cooler but after seeing the video l can understand why they changed it and l am fine with the new name the other news is there is suppose to be a new Gameplay reveal video coming out on Tuesday June 11th which is 3 days from now according to the video l saw the other day
Nice to hear the little Andromeda shoutout. Just replayed it and still wholeheartedly agree it’s a good game. There’s way more dialogue with the crew than I remember and building those bonds with your crew has always been one of my favorite things about Mass Effect.

While i would love to see a remaster or remake of Origins, we all know it would suffer the same fate as Mass Effect. The lighting would be changed for the worse, scenes deemed offensive to the current dev team would be either censored or removed and NPC and enemy models would be changed. This is the dev team that made Inquisition, where the men were models and the women were trolls, no thanks.
The only thing they changed in the Legendary Edition was some inappopriate ass shots of Miranda while she's talking about her trauma. A good change, btw.
I dont understand how anyone can ignore all the devs leaving the project and the multiple restarts including a live service attempt and think dreadwolf will do anything but fail. Im sure they will check all the boxes when it comes to weird companions most of the fanbase hates but the tumblr crowd stans but that will be the clear focus not actual gameplay
I love how people complain about crunch AND games working too long at the same time. Dev work is obsessive work. You get into a flow state working long hours that are tough to achieve within the normal 9-5 grind, as you're interrupted by meetings all day. Stop complaining, and let people pour themselves into their work like maniacs if they want.

Pc is the best way to play origins. It takes 1 second to search and a few minutes to download the mod that fixes crashes matty.

Yeah, the 4GB patcher is nice for a lot of old games, but absolutely ESSENTIAL for DAO

When Dragon Age Dreadwolf launches my DAD will finally be back
I'm typing this comment before even watching the video. Right now, at this point, all I'm hoping is for Dreadwolf to not suck. It doesn't even have to be much better than Inquisition, I just want it to be good.
Really looking forward to this release. DA:I was my introduction to the series on XB One, I then played Origins & DA:2. DA:I & Skyrim are the 2 games I play again and again.

IMO, if Bioware wanted the biggest chance of success for the game. they should release it early fall. Next Winter/Spring Monster Hunter IS going to eat everyone's Lunch AND Dinner.
I can't wait for Wilds so much so that I'm currently playing tf out of RiseBreak atm. Wilds will be my personal GOTY next year and no other game is even going to come close. So a Fall Dreadwolf release would be VERY wise cause I feel bad for any game that releases next to Wilds.

I've been saying this for a while: a Remaster, especially on origins, would do wonders. Many younger fans have never even played this game.
Stg blood magic better be in this entry’s as a mage spec. I need it, so bad.
I'd love for another company to take what Sony Santa Monica did with God of War 2018 and Ragnarok did and make it their own. Bioware has changed their gameplay in each of these games, so if they follow that trend I think this style of gameplay could be really great!

Wether they do a legendary edition or go straight into Dreadwolf they need to add Dragon age Keep into the game so you can change your choices quickly and smoothly.
I fully intend to replay Inquisition this year to get up to speed. I've played through the base game, but I've never played Trespasser or the other DLCs.
Trespasser is almost basically essential. Really awesome proper ending to inquisition. My personal favorite though is the mine investigation one. The lore implications and confirmations are crazy.
Honestly, if you skipped Inquisition's campaign and only played Tresspasser you would barely miss anything important besides why you got the mark and friendships. Tresspasser should have been the main game.
Trespasser is what saved Inquisition for me. I found the main game disappointing but that dlc is fantastic.

I would love to see a Dragon Age Legendary edition. Origins was so good but it needs an update. DAII needs…some work…And maybe they could remove the bloat from DAI.
Sadly, every time somebody mentions Mass Effect now I don’t think I want to play a new BioWare game. I think about Exodus. I’m looking forward to that.

Wouldn't they need to completely rebuild DAO from the ground up due to its engine that doesn't exist anymore? That said, i'd be very interested in an upgraded version.

Hopefully this time they'll have an actual combat system not a mindless 'charge in and win without tactics' system like Inquisition.
I would bet it will be more action focused not less. Tactical camera and tactics customization will not return to the series.
The company has already mentioned this.
In one their scrap the game and build it from scratch moments they took out any sort of strategy left in the game.
It's action combat more akin to god of war. For Better or worse(most likely worse)this is what were getting.

You might be able to do a DAO+DA2 collection remaster, but DAI was made in a different engine, so I doubt that could be included. I do want a DAO+DA2 remaster collection though!

I'm doing another playthrough as I type this. There's still dragon age keep, but I haven't been able to the servers to connect
what systems will it be on i hope its on ps5 xbox and pc dragon age is a wnderful once in a lifetime experience that enriches lives

I suspect that we're not going to get a Dragon Age Legendary Edition because the three games, and now the fourth, were made with three different engines, which would make things much more difficult. All three games in the Mass Effect trilogy were made in Unreal Engine 3, which streamlined things greatly.
If Dreadwolf does turn out to be an action oriented game, I'll probably not be playing it. I'm reserving judgment until the actual release, though, as with anything else.
Yes, dao legendary edition would be a must but for me... Already have The ME legendary so im ready for them to make one for dragon age games.
I'm planning on buying the first two games this summer! I've heard only great things about them, and whatever could be a bother won't be with the right mods I already checked exist.
Inquisition was the first DA game I ever played, two years ago, and for two years I've already been dying for the next one. I can't even imagine what it's like for those who've been waiting a DECADE

I've been waiting until DW comes out to do another playthrough to decide on the route I want to take to finish everything, especially if we get remasters.

Inquiry: does it really reflect when the team says their feeling good about it? Because I remember that statement being said about Biowares other less sold games as well as some that took quite a while after their released to be a fan favorite.
Honestly I just want to see how much different the game will be from its predecessors and hope it's not too alienated for me to feel like acquiring
This video was 10 days ago but l saw a Dragon Age Dreadwolf Huge Update video the other day and in the video they said they are changing the name From Dragon Age Dreadwolf to Dragon Age The Veilguard some fans weren’t happy about this name change because many fans like the name Dreadwolf better me included it just sounds cooler but after seeing the video l can understand why they changed it and l am fine with the new name the other news is there is suppose to be a new Gameplay reveal video coming out on Tuesday June 11th which is 3 days from now according to the video l saw the other day

Nice to hear the little Andromeda shoutout. Just replayed it and still wholeheartedly agree it’s a good game. There’s way more dialogue with the crew than I remember and building those bonds with your crew has always been one of my favorite things about Mass Effect.

While i would love to see a remaster or remake of Origins, we all know it would suffer the same fate as Mass Effect. The lighting would be changed for the worse, scenes deemed offensive to the current dev team would be either censored or removed and NPC and enemy models would be changed. This is the dev team that made Inquisition, where the men were models and the women were trolls, no thanks.
The only thing they changed in the Legendary Edition was some inappopriate ass shots of Miranda while she's talking about her trauma. A good change, btw.
I dont understand how anyone can ignore all the devs leaving the project and the multiple restarts including a live service attempt and think dreadwolf will do anything but fail.
Im sure they will check all the boxes when it comes to weird companions most of the fanbase hates but the tumblr crowd stans but that will be the clear focus not actual gameplay

Bioware and Betheada have zero credibility with me now. It's been almost 10 years since I've seen a good (new) release from either of them.
Bioware only released 2 bad games (IMO one bad game)
(Andromeda was pretty good)

I love how people complain about crunch AND games working too long at the same time.
Dev work is obsessive work. You get into a flow state working long hours that are tough to achieve within the normal 9-5 grind, as you're interrupted by meetings all day.
Stop complaining, and let people pour themselves into their work like maniacs if they want.

No joke, I was playing Dragon Age Origins on PC while watching this video and the minute you said "PC port of Dragon Age Origins makes me cry, it crashes all the time" my game crashed on me. You can't make this stuff up! lol
Bioware should drop a 60 FPS patch for Inquisition.. the story of Dreadwolf is a direct continuation of it. after anthem and andromeda im really worried this would be awful again but Dragon age has a soft spot in my heart.. this is your last chance Bioware.
