Just do what I do: as soon as you spawn in, go into a vertical climb, and hold the climb until you stall. This will put you at ~5,000-7,000ft. Rebuild your speed and keep climbing, this time to 10,000ft. This will put you at the same altitude as, and on a head on with the bombers. It also gives you ample altitude to deal with most fighters. (Not a joke, genuinely works)
So short story with the p-38: IRL: badass interceptor War thunder: floating tub giving easy kills to everybody cause apparently gajin thinks america sucks ass
The p-38 was meant to boom and zoom but could usually stick around for a dogfight if it wanted to and I mean if it wanted to. In war thunder you could cut in half if someone looks at it too hard
Or try the climbing spiral against single engine fighters......the P-factor will murder them. They'll try to pull lead, increasing their AOA, which will increase the effect of the P-factor, the more the slower they go...... At a certain point they'll just flop over and you can just dive on them and kill them. Also Combat flaps are key and always include a vertical element into your turns. Mind you I'm talking about Sim Battles and my experience in various IL-2 iterations.
Hey man im a good turnfighter with the p-38 would you like to be in my squadron for war thunder we need people i got to talk to admin if he is able to invite you
im not great at the dogfighting part largely due to im a shit shot but m8 you really need to use MEC. The P-38 can run perma WEP at most alt. above 1500m without even running warm with the radiator proped open at about 30%. I use 40% for very low engagements but since that is rare it usually stays at 30%. it stays at a healthy 115C for water and 84-85C for oil on both engines so long as your going faster than 270 km/h. Any slower and i cannot say as i dont fly that slow so i saw no need to stress test at those low speeds anyway.
other thing is i always open up to 70% or more during WEP if i must WEP during a leak. If leaking i almost always run with full radiator bc it doesnt kill you with drag but it can make a minute or 2 difference with cooling. especially if you feather the failing engine to maybe 20% and run it at 80% you can still run them for long enough to make it back or die trying. Rarely do i blow an engine except when running completely out of oil in which case you have about 5 minutes max before the friction itself causes the engine to throw a rod or something of the nature.
"Speed is life and altitude is life insurance" Never heard it put like that, but it makes sense
I can't believe I've been flying without O.F.U.C.K.M.A.T.E this entire time.
I know right? Fuck me I've been flying all wrong.
Ikr?! That's going in the books
I will then 😏💀@@KrisKrieg1

How about in the P-38E? Or should I just go directly for the P-38G?
@@Akaeruboth are pretty much the same. The only difference with the g is that it can climb higher

Also the fighter to assassinate admiral Yamamoto.

Ehh it's actually the plane I like flying the most though, I get the highest kdr from it out of any other plane, especially the G one.
I apparently suck at the P-38, magically people from below can reach me when I'm going full throttle at 6000m
Yup...given enough time, anyone can catch you at any altitude. The trick is to murder them while they are at low energy trying to climb to you.
Ocrilat lmao thanks for the advice I keep trying to engage in dogfights Cuz I thought that I was still in the p 40
@@markian6854 Energy fighting in War Thunder can be very effective...but it takes practice.

@@LupusAries Good point.
alright, i got to admit .... O.F.U.C.K.M.A.T.E got me good xD
I spilled my coffee when that came up :D
You are welcome
Nice work mate made me chuckle davo the bloody wombat :)
he's like a drunken aussie Squire
Can't argue with that mate.
One thing to note, this bus of a plane can out turn an FW 190. Not sure if that's just amazing american engineering or horrid german engineering
My favorite plane thank you for the information
I've never had an issue with head on in this thing. I always win them
Ok that acronym was amazing 😂
Imagine pulling up on takeoff
tail cut loose
Wtf, you're here too?
Hey man im a good turnfighter with the p-38 would you like to be in my squadron for war thunder we need people i got to talk to admin if he is able to invite you
+Kyle Lynch hello, thanks for the interesting offer but im not going to be joining other squadrons. Sorry to disappoint
It's fine I just wanted to get to add you on war thunder not to add to a squadron
OFUCKMATE had me dying
O.F.U.C.K.M.A.T.E has taught me
Absolutely fantastic
Pilot's wife's name is Marge. I live in the city he called his hometown. A refurbished model of Bong's P-38 is parked in a museum. www.bongcenter.org/
lol, laughed all the way through this video, well done, i have subscribed for more laughs . :)

Thank you for the information my favorite plane.new subscriber
Its a good plane. Need to revisit it.
But what if the spitfire pilot is scottish
Hmph, not bad. Not bad at all, mate. Could use improvements, but it's pretty good!
It would have been better If I didnt delete my script and delete the footage that was critical to finish the video off.
Still looks fine to me, wish the Boomerang footage was in there :P
That sucks arse :/
Rule 1, drink beer
hahaha great video man, this was good xD
how do you show pilot? i cannot seem to get him to show can you make a tutorial please
