Thank you for this guide mate! I'm using AT and a controller so I'm only aiming for silver. You're guide helped me to improve from a mid 3:32 lap to a 3:28.000 dead 👍🏻
Thanks! Exiting the slower corners in third, not second gear improved my time from 3.26.4 to a solid 3.24.8 with a controller and I feel there is more Time in the Porsche Curves.
@@PM10Racing -Cheers. After watching your video I managed a 3.24:9, which I am happy with for now. I may have to try and improve it if the record gets beaten.... Thanks again.
I'm stuck with a controller with a 3.28.1, I feel like it's the Porsche curves where I lose too much time as I don't have the steering sensibility of a wheel to turn into the apex at the right time
Thanks very much mate I really appreciated the sub and taking time to watch my video. In terms of getting the Porsche curves correct (and any corner for that matter) it helps to have good vision. What I mean by that is be looking a couple of seconds ahead of yourself instead of being fixated with what’s immediately in front of you. The Porsche curves come at you quick and the direction changes are also very quick so you need to be looking further down the road and from there you will naturally “drive where you are looking”. If your vision isn’t long and broad and you are only looking immediately ahead of yourself, everything will feel reactive and rushed whereas good vision, long and broad down the track enables you to be more proactive rather than reactive. There’s a really good video on this subject below. ua-cam.com/video/r4nyExkzseE/v-deo.html Vision is the one thing I really have to work hard at as I sometimes fall into the old habit of staring at braking points and apexs for too long and not getting my eyes up and through corners quick enough. Have a look at this video and give it a try. You might be slower to start off with but in time and with some practice you will definitely pick up time. Good luck mate ua-cam.com/video/r4nyExkzseE/v-deo.html
@@PM10Racing Thank you very much mate, I appreciate you taking the time to answer me. I will try again of course, and thank you for your help! Looking forward for some more content!

Good lap! (About 10.65721 years quicker than me.) May I ask what equipment (wheel) you are using? Saw that you kept a tiny, smidge of throttle open around a few corners... Was that entirely intentional, or just a heavy right foot? 🤔 😉
Hi Tj930 thank you for taking the time to watch my video and leave a comment. I use the Fanatec CSL DD Pro 8nm with the Fanatec Clubsport v3 pedals (including the brake performance kit) and the McLaren V2 wheel. I think the smidge of throttle is me trying to re-engage the engine just as the braking phase has finished. I’m not really accelerating with this tiny bit of throttle I’m just trying to re-engage the engine and get the weight starting to move to the rear before committing to full throttle. Thanks very much for watching and leaving a comment. Cheers
@@PM10Racing I had a different experience and thereby some questions - I tried hard on the Sauber and then on the 962C and ended up 0.6 sec faster in the 962C in the lower silver time zone (in fact it's nearly 1 sec faster as my fastest time on Sauber was set with an unintended penalty-less shortcut -- not sure why there's such a bug but it just happened). I subsequently tried the R92CP and pushed another 0.7 sec. I am scratching my head why I am slower in a car that is fastest for most people... Perhaps because I am on auto shift and the Nissan favours such driving style?
@@stormmeansnowork there’s definitely some time to be had by short shifting the Sauber and using its bottom end for more acceleration (if done at the correct speeds). Auto shift gears unfortunately don’t allow for this and it will shift at a pre determined rev range which I think will be costing you some time. That’s probably the main difference in your times between the cars. I’ll give the Nissan another try later and see if I can get it to rotate more.
@@PM10Racing Yes indeed the auto shift thing is a very big limitation on myself. For some reasons, I just have a hard time learning it, let alone figuring out the short shifting. Btw do you know if the real life racers also use short shifting too or is this technique just a gaming thing? For the Nissan, since it has much higher top speed, I simply brake earlier to get through the corners, not sure if it may help you.
@@stormmeansnowork learning manual gears is just muscle memory and repetition. Are you on a wheel or a controller? In terms of shirt shifting I can’t say for certain but I don’t think real life drivers take the short shifting to the extreme like we do in the game (E.g sometimes shifting up 2 or 3 gears before getting on throttle). They do use short shifting to save fuel as / when required and they also will short shift in a corner to keep the revs down if they start to lose traction in a certain gear in a corner. Other than that I don’t think real life drivers are aggressive on shirt shifting as we are in game. I could be wrong on this as I haven’t driven a race car but this is just my own opinion based on watching lots of racing. The main problem I had with the Nissan was understeer on and off throttle so cornering speed is quite a bit slower than the Sauber especially in mid and high speed corners. I’ll have a play with it though to see if I can get some more rotation out of it by using trail braking and gears.

Have ya tried it with the Nissan R92CP..?
I tired it before the Sauber and it was really understeery in the mid speed corners and just ended up losing too much time.
