Sock Knitting: How to Kitchener Stitch - How to Graft the Toe of a Sock - Right Handed - Wendy Poole

  • In this video I show you "my method" for working "Kitchener Stitch" which is a method of grafting the two rows of live stitches together using a sewing needle and length of yarn, at the top of the toe on socks - to create a seamless seam.
    I start with a short demo of grafting two pieces of knitting together "off the needles" to help you understand how grafting actually works, then move on to working across the toe of one of my socks, using the "Kitchener Stitch" method and grafting two 2 rows of stitches together, directly from the knitting needles.
    This is the method that I've used in my Basic Sock Sock Knitting Pattern, that has been used in my Workshops and is available to download as a Free PDF Pattern. There are 2 options for the pattern, of a version with full colour photos and a printer friendly version.
