    Add the bridges! Would be a cool creek / wetlands area

    In my opinion, I think 🤔 you should put in a small arch bridge on the back mainline by cutting only a small section of foam . By doing this …. You can have a steam to a small pond and have your bridges that you want 👍 ! In this case it looks real and you can still have everything that you want 😎 !!

    This is a different view of laying track and for me is easy to follow and covers many points...great video.

    Dear Nscaler, considering the elongated rock face on the layout will work as a natural retaining wall, one can anticipate such a level drop will create a voluminous amount of seepage water. Such water can of course be accumulated in culverts. However, where the ‘wall’ is a rock face, seepage will occur where the several ground water layers have been exposed. Such seepage will lead to a rather significant stream of surface water, either in a ditch or brook. As long as you make a small indent between tracks and rock face and on the longest ends rather dry, transforming into ever more wet towards the ‘low point,’ synonymical to where you planned the bridge, I humbly think the scene will explain itself. Not that a culvert wouldn’t be suitable, but as such a large rock face can produce significant amounts of water runoff, a bridge, if only a small one would be preferred above a narrowing culvert, with all its resistance, hence restrictions, and possible impact on the roadbed. Hope this helps. Cheerio

    Good job in the N scale layout, flex tracks and switch Peco.
    The tracks of my layout, Atlas, Bachmann and Life Like, 93/4" curve.
    Code 80 the Peco tracks.

    My thoughts would be putting the bridge on the mainline (as you suggested) and cascade a waterfall off your step-up to appear as a waterfall from the upper level. This would allow you to have a pooling area at the bridge and then reduce it down as it runs off the layout like a stream. Possible viaduct on the top level could be added also.

    Hi Nscaler454 , I do like the idea for a bridge on the main line. A bridge on the branch line sounds good also. So why not do both. You’re making good progress. Thanks for the update. Have a good weekend. 😎😎 👍

    I think a bridge so close to a rock formation would look kind of unrealistic; in real life if a mainline would need to be elevated over some water filled depression the railroad would probably create a fill with suitable drainage.
    The culvert option is the way to go. Just my two cents.

    • @nscaler454
      @nscaler454  Рік тому +1

      realism is definitely important to me, but not a hard rule. I had the same thought process. A small pond would likely be filled instead of a bridge going over it.

      He could do a marsh or wetlands with a fill for the track and the culvert maybe?

    idea sounds great, but why not cut open the whole section and also put a bridge on the back track. so a higher and a lower one, would i think also look great. then put in a canal maybe. anyway looking forward to the next one!

    Sounds like you don't have a plan. Just piecing it together. Gotta have a scale plan on paper to see the problem areas.
