Oh Cynthia, I’m so glad you talked about “the pit”! What a great description...I too have had a season of apartness because of a difficult situation. And I too am beginning to come out of it. I’ve read a lot, watched endless UA-cam (not Flosstube), and wondered what was happening to me. I’ve come to believe that God sometimes gives us a season of rest because we too often try to power through life. He created the Sabbath for a reason. We need rest. And we need to take the time to really grieve and to reevaluate where we are and where we’re going. Love you so much for being vulnerable. Prayers going up for you. Be blessed, Marlene

Your "perpetual drum" idea is amazing! You are turning into another Vonna Pfeiffer! I've never tried doing a drum, but you make me want to. I've been stitching that same series.

I went and read some Zachariah after hearing you talk about the pit. I've climbed my way out, but I feel like that's where I was as we navigated the later parts of my dad's journey with cancer last year. We lost him in March, and I miss him every single day, and there are definitely those "moments", but for me the time between Christmas 2021 and Christmas 2022 when we felt like we were holding our breath and waiting was the dark part. I'm not sure I'd have been ready to hear those words while I was in the deepest part of the pit, but it gives me some perspective now. My prayers are with your entire family after your series of losses.
I so enjoy my time to catch up with you. Your projects are fun and inspirational. Sorry for your family's loss. I like your idea of the drum you can change. Thanks for sharing so generously.

Hi Cynthia! The drum creation is perfect for changing out your monthly stitching. I love the ribbons for added dimension and color. I thought of an oatmeal canister covered with the lid decorated. Nice to see you again Cynthia. I love your idea with the perpetual drum. I'm also stitching the Joyful World series and I'm making each one into a small flat piece and attaching metal washers on the back. I've glued strong magnets into a photo frame with a fairly neutral paper as the baking and then the monthly pieces just attach with the magnets to the washers and appear to float in the frame.

Hi Cynthia! So very happy to see you again. Your creativity and ideas are inspiring. I needed to hear the story about the pit and not drowning. I’m there right now. I ruptured my Achilles tendon and have to have surgery next week and the recovery process does not sound like a lot of fun. I pray that your days are bright and cheery. Great to see you! I have done alot of the same patterns. I will be praying for you. I lost my oldest son last year. It has been a real trial. I also lost my youngest brother and my daughter in law's sister. All were pretty sudden and tragic. It's real hard to keep one's spirit up. Have a good time on vacation.

So lovely to see you back, Cynthia. We homeschooled our 3 for a total of 21 years. They're all adults now. Our oldest is a US Navy commander and our two girls work in hospital administration and a huge law firm. All three love the Lord and serve Him. Have a blessed vacation!

Third comment! I needed to hear your words about being in a pit but not drowning or dying. I’ve been in my pit stop for almost three years since losing my mom, now a step dad, all my husbands family. We are older than you but age doesn’t seem to matter. I’m so thankful for my faith that draws me closer and closer to Jesus. He is my all in all. Kids are grown and our time is free. Stitching and watching flosstube, quilting and home making raises my creative spirit and is helping me heal. Please join us as often as you can!

Great flosstube. I hope you keep finding peace. I think losses, of friendships are hard too, especially when the person won’t explain. I know some of what she didn’t like. But I feel she was and is not fair. Losses of family members and good friends, to death are really hard, and take much out of me also. Hope you enjoy your vacation. It was wonderful to see you again! I’m so sorry for your losses. I’ve had my share as well and it is horrible. I try and focus on all the wonderful memories and how blessed I am to have had them. Many people go through life without it. The greater the love the greater the loss. Your calmness is so comforting and inspiring. Strawberry season by Barbara Ana came from the PNPS summer 2019 issue. If you have the print subscription I believe they give access to all back issues digitally. Individual digital copies are also for sale I think. Happy stitching ☺️
