Dear Cynthia, I found your Flosstube this morning as I was stitching and just so happy that I did. Your gentle sweet spirit was just what I needed! I loved seeing all your finishes and projects. I love the prim and harvest themes and who doesn't love sunflowers and bees! I really appreciate and relate to your willingness to control purchases and make good use of what you have. Thanks for being so authentic and sharing your challenges. I am retired now but I remember the challenges of my husband and I doing whatever was necessary to take good care of our four kids, our aging parents, work pressures, and spiritual obligations while still having time as a couple. As women, it is important also not to lose our individuality. As one of the leaders in the home we have to have joy, fun, passions to feed our strength. Cross stitch has always been a great way to find beauty and self fulfillment for me. I lost my Mom and Mother in Law within 2 years of each other. they were such important women in my life and such a support to our family. I miss them everyday and find comfort in having had them for so long. Grief is such an individual thing but it must be felt. Just know that it does get better. Keep doing what you are doing. Have a great month and see you next time.

I love your finish of the punchneedle chickens on the chicken wire frame! Dealing with grief is tough and all of the other things you've been dealing with don't make it any easier. Just know that the pain will lessen, things will get better, and trust God to get you through the day one moment at a time. Find joy and peace in the beautiful gift of your crafting talent.

I was so glad to see that you posted a new video. I'm very sorry about all the sorrows and difficult times you and your family have had. I think your videos are a little bit of grace and kindness that you share with all of us. I love all your little bee and sunflower finishes. I like just the plain chicken wire with the white wall showing through, but that might not look so good if the wall color was different. Praying God sends his healing spirit to calm and sooth you when you need it.

Love your needle punch with the roosters. I have quite a nice array of vintage roosters around my kitchen/dining are and love them because they always remind me of my Grammie whom I loved so much and miss to this day; even though she has been gone for 39 yrs now. I spent so much time with her and live on what used to be her and Grampa's cow pasture. God bless and wishing you well. I too, understand how depression can be so overwhelming. I have lived it and currently am struggling also because of Covid and all the bad things happening in this country. Happy Stitching!!

It was so good to spend some time with you via video today. I am glad that you are finding your way and giving yourself the Grace to do that. Just know that you are thought of often and lifted up in prayer. We all experience “valleys” at times in our lives but, even knowing that, it is not easy. The world we live in is challenging us daily as Christians and it is sometimes so hard. What a blessing we have knowing that Christ is our salvation, our joy, and our strength to triumph over the evil one. I am thrilled that you are getting back to your stitching and your crafting - it really does help to get our minds focused on those things that can bring us joy. Thank you for sharing of your beautiful projects and your time and talents. Blessings and hugs to you, Cynthia………

Cynthia I felt like I reconnected to an old friend after listening to this floss tube. The pieces you shared were lovely and you have inspired me to pick up some favorite pieces and do some stitching on them. Cynthia grief is a unique thing. My mom has been gone 25 years and every fall I still live through the days preceding her death. I still find moment of missing her terribly and I allow myself to sob deeply - it keeps me sane. It took me 5 years of deep sadness until joy started filling my days. Everyone handles it differently so be kind and gentle with yourself. Journaling may help and I’m sure there are lots of ways to help. You are in my prayers. I wish I lived next door to you so I could listen to you, make you dinner, stitch with you and be a friend. Thank you so much for all you have shared with us. I think you are amazing ◡̈

Beautiful projects and so inspiring! Thank you for sharing. Your sunflower bee display is gorgeous!! I lost my father on Father's day 2021 and Father's day 2022 was super hard, so I totally understand. I was surprised/upset that other family members didn't find the anniversary any harder than any other day. A friend gave me some really good advice. She said everyone grieves differently so don't judge others in how they grieve. I realized I was sort of judging or just wishing they would grieve like me. I now take that advice and I don't judge anyone's grief process including my own. I am also learning about the brain and how the left side feels the pain of the loss while the right side feels gratitude for having these people in your life. It's good to take a break from the sadness by going into the right brain and feeling gratitude and joy and God's eternal love. I think this is what you were trying to say. Crafting (or any creative activity like music, gardening, dancing, cooking, painting, hiking, canoeing, badminton, etc) in a free feels good relaxed way, without a to do list, will help you be in the right side of your brain where you can be in the moment enjoying the feel of the floss, the beautiful colors, and the fun pattern emerging, and this will help you feel gratitude, joy and love which will in turn nurture and heal your heart. Sending lots of love, Valerie

Hi Cynthia, thank you for sharing your talent and heart. Like many who have posted, I so relate to the feelings of loss and grief. This time of year is difficult...however, I have 8 nieces and nephews. The older boys knew my parents however, the younger ones did not meet my parents. I take my memories of my beloved parents and share moments with these beautiful children/young adults. For me, it keeps my parents memory and legacy of family, love alive. Blessings to you and yours.

Loss is hard and grief is so different for each person. I lost my younger brother over Memorial Day Weekend this year and a month later my son's best friend since childhood and an honorary member of our family died at just 37 years old. I love what you said about when you feel so sad and bad, try to help or bless someone else. This is SO true. I started applying that to my life about 12 years ago when I went through a very bad patch that I almost didn't recover from. It truly helps YOU also, when you help someone else.
Thank you for spending time doing a video. It was much appreciated.

Cynthia, I have success with using strips of thin cardboard to cover the sharp edges of wire attached to frames. I just use a stapler to attach the cardboard to the wood. Use save the cardboard found in new clothing. to reuse in this way. I hope this helps as I have found that the duct tape can mark your wall and creates a sticky mess as it ages.

As the years go by it gets easier but sometimes grief comes out of nowhere. My daughter had her first baby a week ago and the first people I wanted to tell were my momma and sister. Hi Cynthia, good to see you back again. I know you believe in prayer, so I wanted to tell you my mom passed away on 8/26. She was my beautiful, sweet, and courageous mother and I miss her so much. She lived a long life at 95 and she was ready to meet her Lord and Savior. I am thankful I was with her the moment she peacefully left this life. I'll miss the nightly phone calls and traveling nearly 3 hours to visit her and take her to appointments, but I know I'll see her and my dad again one day. So sorry you have been dealing with such darkness in your life. I've had a lot of family drama going on as well so I'm trying to leave it all in God's hands. It's sometimes a struggle. I'm still Praying for you! ❤ Your punch needle looks great! I really want to try that sometime.
