Your sunsets are so gorgeous. That is one thing I miss here in China. Where I live the mountains and high rises block the sunsets. Looking forward to seeing some amazing ones when I go home this summer. The Heaven and Earth Grocery store is a lot lighter than the cover implies. James McBride is a new favorite author. I’ve read three of his so far and they’ve all been five stars.
I'm excited for you to go home! Thank you for the tip with that book - it did sound really heavy. I will definitely try it soon if he is a new favourite author of yours x
Firstly, I hope you’re feeling better. Secondly, ‘I’m not into reading fine books anymore’. I need to channel this iconic Natalie energy. Thirdly, if Bernardine quotes/blurbs on, or recommends, a book I’ll get it and read it… eventually. Fourthly, thank you for being brilliant company when I’m a bit rough (I know the running out of tissues feeling) and battling the post holiday blues. You’re, as always, an absolute tonic.
That Bernard Cornwell series is so much fun, enjoy. I've heard great things about Kairos, now I have mixed feelings about picking it up, probably won't. I've heard good things about Hot Milk too, hope it's a good one for you, let us know? I was really hoping it was Small Island by Andrea Levy that you were going to pick up, it's one of my favourites. Praiseworthy is a masterpiece, but it can be hard going in parts, lots of repetition that I to look at as chanting rather than get bogged down in it. There's quite funny satire and some of the dialogue is relatable in crazy situations. loved it. Body friend is good, could say a lot about it but I didn't really deep dive into that one. Hope you are feeling better soon. We've had lots of coughs and colds here too xx
It might just be me - we all bring our own experiences to a book and I think that is one that is definitely swayed by that. Will keep you posted on Hot Milk - love that you saw a favourite of yours on my shelf. I will get to that too. What a beautiful way to explain your reading of Praiseworthy - I will take that with me when I get to it. And you have me interested in Body Friend now - I will share my reading of it. Nice to talk to you x
So glad to see a vlog 😊 but I am hoping you are feeling better ❤ and oh my god I love seeing the sunsets how beautiful 😍 ……. Thanks for doing a vlog when you weren’t feeling well 📚💛📚
I’m always so happy to see a new video from you pop up in my feed. I’m so sorry you’re not feeling well and I hope you got some rest and feel better soon. My husband shared his chest cold with me so I’m laid up and watching UA-cam videos. 😊
I hope you feel better soon xx Your courses sound exciting! Oooh all the Stella prize books, I really must try and get some. I'm gonna try Bernard Cornwell soon. I hope the boys went to bed OK! Xx
I have missed watching your vlogs! I hope you're feeling a bit better now. When you DNF'd the Helen Dunmore I let out a loud "Nooooooooo", but I haven't read that one and some of hers towards the end of her life weren't as good as the earlier novels. I am so hoping you don't DNF Deborah Levy. I saw you hold up "Hot Milk" and held my breath. I loved it (at the time - I can't remember much about it now). You are correct -- you can never trust them to put themselves to bed. I realised though that my sleep is more important and stopped caring so much about theirs :D :D. The boys are huge compared to the last time I watched... :( Goes by so quickly. I am interested in hearing more about these courses you are taking. I must look back through all the missed vlogs. It looks so cosy and lovely cold up there. You cannot leave those sunsets!! Get well soon.
Beautiful Kali!!! I have missed you too! I will persist with Helen Dunmore on your recommendation - I did think about letting go of all the other books I have of hers on my shelf but I won't now. And don't - Deborah Levy is safe. I'm really enjoying Hot Milk. Yep my boys are big now and wonderful little humans. My courses are wonderful - maybe I will share more in future videos. Really asking me to level up as well as learning so much. So nice to talk to you again x I hope you and your family are well and happy xx
@@NatalieMeree I can't remember the Dunmore titles I loved. I must review my Goodreads. I have let a LOT of books go, and everything else is packed up. I am trying to move again but this housing market is hostile. Meanwhile my son and I have been camping in our flat among towers of boxes! I haven't been reading much in the past few years as I have had to focus on other things. I am desperate to get back to a state of flow and seasonal / cyclical living.
I always enjoy your videos and seeing what you are reading. I am also a tarot newbie. Do you mind sharing what the tarot course is that you are currently studying? Hope that you get to feeling better soon. Its hard when you are not well and like to think that you can't do too much so might as well catch up on reading but even reading can prove to be too much effort and brain power to be able to concentrate.
Thank you x So nice to meet another Tarot newbie - I am doing Lindsay Mack's Soul Tarot course. It comes out once a year and I just got in for the enrolments. It's been on my radar for so long so love that I am finally doing it. It's amazing and a lot to take in

So glad you filmed a new video. I decided to get the Bernard Cornwell series. Just downloaded the first book. Thank you for the recommendations.
Hooray - let me know if Viking fiction becomes a love and an escape for you too!

You really can't go wrong with a Bernardine Evaristo blurb - you are right!

You are lovely - I really enjoyed the distraction from just laying in bed x
Lost count of the number of times I paused to check if my library had some of your books! Food looked delicious 🤤. Hope you’re feeling better.
Ooo let me know if you read any x

I hope you are feeling better! I have been sick with a cold the past few days as well so I feel your pain! Embrace the DNFs!
Loved seeing a video from you! So sorry you aren’t well. 💐
Thank you lovely Cheryl x
Hello - sorry you didn’t like House of Orphans but glad you’re enjoying the Bernard Cornwell books - love me some Viking fiction. Feel better soon! 💕
