I dumped your dad at Fonda coming out of 2 when he came and drove Jake Spraker’s car lol I felt horrible but I was running your dad pretty hard . Totally my fault. I felt horrible since I admired him so much.

There’s times I wished Mike would get mad, drive harder, use the bumper, dive in there. I remember telling Mike, you followed the #9 car far too long, you should have given him the bump and go. Mike said “ I don’t want to drive like that”, and that’s why I follow Mike, total class guy on and off the track.

I watched a wife of a driver. Go after her son in law cause he broke in front of her husband & cause a pile up. She said he brake check him. The women is bat shit crazy to begin with. But really lady. She was the only one that seen it that way. Even her husband wasn’t mad. He knew it was a racing thing. Shit happens.

I believe this incident was when Billy won his first race at New Egypt. He came across the winner, but post race inspection his car was either over/ under the weight restrictions for the track/car division. Billy and the crew were getting ready to celebrate in victory lane, then being told he failed inspection. My point is our family friends who raced with your dad, believed your dad was cheating to get wins. That belief they had led us to believe the same. Your dad probably just had better equipment/sponsors than they had. I now understand that their belief in your dad was not true. I truly believe your dad is a clean and great driver.

Back in the 60s I think it 68 or 69 my uncle won a100 lap race at East Windsor. Because it was his first race there everyone hated him. He was an outsider and he said he never got the money and it took a long time to get the trophy. I bet Billy knows what that’s like.

Gotta kick out of this Video. Mike your as nice in person as on here. Everybodys got their favorites, and their not so's. I think the biggest thing is for a driver to go out of his/her way when meeting a fan. If I leave an introduction or Meet and Greet and walk away saying dang he's a nice guy, then thats most likely what he is, at least until he cuts off my Favorite! Hahahah JK! Old Croton Kenny

The driver has such a limited view for a couple of reasons. First, being strapped in limits your view. Second, the focus on the line you are running creates tunnel vision. It’s always better to act politely when you have an on track incident . I always say that the driver know less than virtually anyone else.

watching Mike one thing is obvious HE is not a INSIDE turn pusher . He also is calmer then I think I would be, Two times come to mind on the BB DIRT series both are TOP contenders and after the checkered flag MIKE got a horrendous SHOT in the back and one was he was the wrong guy

I was a crew chief and I built the car and we raced supermodify's at San Jose speedway. Over the years leading up to my days at San Jose and on many tracks I noticed that every time when two cars come together the guys on one team claim the outside car came down and the inside cars guys claim they came up. Racing is the fault 99% of the time. Most divers know if you run into another car the percentages of it taking you out is pretty high.

    Good topic.
As a long-time crew guy, you have rivals and may get heated. But as time passes, you gain respect for them and become friends because of respect. Having to fix the cars constantly you don't like wrecks. Good show..

Women can be petty and tend to judge other women more, that’s why they hold grudges. Men get over stuff quicker from what I have seen in 50 years of living.
