Nice timing on that one! haha =D

Brand art needs complete redesign. Not inviting at all. Just my opinion. Looks BTEC
This is the real news!
Love the move, it’s perfect.

I'm still convinced we've all slept in for two months and it's April 1st.

I checked the date before I even watched the first video I saw announcing it. 😂
Same! Honestly I checked the calendar when I saw this to verify that I didn't miss 2 months somehow
Damn. First few F1 rounds must have been boring

Even UA-cam's shocked by this
James Vowles now suddenly have the pressure to lock Albon in that Williams as soon as possible.
Why? Albon couldn’t handle being in a competitive car. Mercedes will go with Kimi, that’s the driver meta these days.
Albon won't get locked to that Williams past 2024, mattter of fact, some of the drivers will actually try to get out of contracts to get that seat.
@@mouseinthehouse_ Kimi's an amazing talent but he hasn't even raced above Formula Regional yet... he won't get the top seat this soon.
@@Robalexe he's in Formula 2 this season, I know shocking
@@sheabryantmusic And he hasn't driven in it yet, shocking. We don't know how he'll perform or if he'll need 2 years in F2 and even more so at least a year in a lower F1 team. You can't simply say the likeliest contender to a top F1 seat is someone who hasn't even driven in F2 yet, let alone F1, that's just nonsense. Last time something like that happened was Lewis in 2007, but McLaren have shown to be keen on taking a rookie into their team, unlike Mercedes.
Imagine if Lewis pulls a Oscar Piastri and tweet
" a contract has not been signed"
And he goes to HAAS

* It’s-a “Ammertaim” *

Yes that would be funny, but the Ferrari TP (Fred Vasseur) is French and well he's definitely bringing bono along with him.

*Italians proceed to pull out a literal HAMMER*
Vettel: "Everybody is a Ferrari fan"
Now this just makes a whole lot of sense
Until now.
I'm not.
“Even if you go to the Mercedes guys, even if they say that ‘Oh yeah Mercedes is the greatest brand in the world’, they are Ferrari fans”
Now ask Max.... I don't think he likes Ferrari. Didn't he called them cheaters and then Ferrari suddenly dropped in speed?
Lanzhu Zhong and Yuu Takasaki also are Ferrari fan.
Maybe Ferrari's long-term view is that Charles can learn from Lewis how to grow as a champion and better harness his potential. Charles is still young and Lewis has been vocal about how impressed he is with Charles Leclerc. Maybe this is a master-pupil scheme for Leclerc to become a better leader once Hamilton leaves Ferrari or F1 altogether.
My two favorite drivers - unexpected but can’t wait for the Ferrari content
Ham cant teach charles anything.
Ham literally only done well in dominant cars.
This is the most casual nonsense I have ever seen on this channel
@karl8805 Hamilton won't, but having the arguable GOAT in the team and see how he works can be instrumental in a young driver's development.
@@Hermanos22 why? Mercedes did it with Michael and Nico Rosberg. Michael also played a role in Felipe Massa's development. It's not unheard of to bring in someone who can foster and shepherd the young talent directly or indirectly.

Reports came out that Leclerc knew that Hamilton was going to join him when he signed his extension. I think Matt hit the nail on the head at 9:26. Ferrari are bringing in Hamilton to help tidy things up and bring a Championship winning culture back to the team. The move isn't just a short term move, it's a move that will benefit Ferrari (and Leclerc) for the long term, even after Hamilton retires.

Lewis hasn’t been that type of Driver in YEARS! It’s actually come out that Leclerc was aware of Hamilton-gate before he signed his multi year deal. Sainz has also been aware for weeks now. The last person to find out honestly seemed to be Toto 👀
I would argue that the last few occasions something as nuts as this was announced was when Williams didn't keep Nigel Mansell or Damon Hill, or when Senna switched to Williams, or even when Hamilton left McLaren for Mercedes.

Vettel coming out of retirement and joining Mercedes would be crazy
I love Seb, but he was losing races to Stroll at some races in the AM. If Russell were a first or second year driver, I could see bringing in a veteran to guide him. But that is not the case.

Some people ventured to Forecasts a few hours to early... Granted this is for 2025, yet no one has yet fully grasped how much of this news has not been the product of deep conversations between long time friends: Toto and Lewis!
This working out the exact same way as Lewis' Mclaren to Mercedes move, Mclaren/Lewis won in 08, Lewis had 4 years of ups and downs before joining Mercedes 1 year before the engine reg change, Mercedes/Lewis last won in 2020, 4 years including this coming year of ups and down, to join Ferrari 1 year before engine reg change. Now what I'm excited about is a potential fight this season between Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez for that second Red Bull seat. Carlos Sainz came into F1 as a Red Bull junior driver and made his debut with Toro Rosso alongside Max Verstappen. In addition to Checo's less than optimal performance last year I'm sure Red Bull are open to negotiation with other drivers for that seat
Two players for the same position normally doesn't work, I only know one exception. Years ago Bayern Munich bought two leftwingers and that went very well. For the non-football minded people, I am talking about Robben and Ribery.

Hamilton has almost a win/win scenario: if the W15 is good this year, he can make a run at the championship and then ride off into the sunset in the Ferrari. If the W15 isn't so good, he can escape it for (at least) a year, knowing that the Ferrari has at least challenged for P2 consistently and was good enough for a bunch of poles in 2023.
What if the mercedes develops well towards the end of the year into the best car but too late to win the championship and ferrari is nowhere... there are also scenarios possible that are not win win

Plus, Andretti still ultimately need to actually have some sort of dominant win in this era in any of their ventures. While I think F1 is in the wrong by keeping closed (WEC's gain and maybe IndyCar's gain and Formula E's gain), Andretti and GM knew this and they ultimately needed to be so good on the outside (and so known) that F1 would feel a loss not having them.

Let's be honest this is one of the most MASSIVE news in sports that has emerged in the past years. I couldn't believe it when I opened twitter and read that it's actually happening. As a Ferrari fan I think it's a great move for both parties and I'm really excited to see Hamilton and Leclerc driving the red cars in 2025. Absolutely fantastic!

I am convinced that liberty media asked Ferrari to announce this today to make the conversation about it instead of them screwing Andretti over.
For me liberty media discovered that and leaked everything for what they did to Andretti. Ferrari wasn't ready to announce THE NEWS OF THE YEAR...
Lewis literally contacted Ferrari on Jan 31 and signed that same day (seems like he very suddenly made up his mind to leave Merc immediately after just a couple of days in the sim; apparently he hated the new Merc car again and ran out of patience, it was the last straw). Then rumors started that same day but got really serious on Feb 1 and broke the F1 world. The information was quickly leaked in fact, which is why every single reputable source and outlet was discussing it and treating it like a confirmed announcement, despite Lewis, Merc and Ferrari having not said anything at that point. They didn't intend to officially announce it this soon. Merc probably didn't even know any of this was happening until the rumors started. I really wonder who leaked the info so quickly; Will Buxton was the first to hint at some big news coming in the next days but he didn't specificy anything. I have no idea who actually put the information out there first or provided all these huge outlets with enough proof to be taken completely seriously and not just like any other random rumor. Maybe it was someone working at F1 itself, who else would have this much power and impact through a leak
I'm curious to see if his Hamilton's race engineer will come with him. I think for Hamilton, it is really important to have a good connection, and I doubt he'll like the kind of race engineer that Leclarc and Sianz had.

That is the most surprising thing here. Leclerc was AWARE of the contract negotiations with Lewis Hamilton PRIOR to his own contract extension.
Ferrari are flawed in so many well known ways. Hamilton is the catalyst for change, this will only benefit Charles in the years to come.
@@solarydays This is Ferrari, it makes exactly sense to put everything on Lewis.
Leclerc doesn’t care who his teammate is. I bet he zoned out through the contract announcement.
I can’t understand how this one happened.
It feels like this has to mean that toto is leaving Merc at the end of 2024 as well or something.
Yeah, I feel the same thing..
Toto is the CEO of merc F1 team. He’s locked in
Albon to Merc to make room for Antonelli in the williams and Sainz to Sauber makes the Most sense to me
How does this make sense ffs why would sainz go to Sauber when they were second to last last year and Audi isn’t until 2026
I can see it now:
RB: Max/Daniel
Ferrari: Charles/Lewis
Merc: George/Fernando
The opportunities for Albon and some young/lower formulae drivers are huge. Only thing to make it better: Lance retires in 2025 to do Tennis. He can become the GOAT and make this upcoming silly season even crazier. Please Lance!

"My tires are gone man"
"Confirm you lost your tires?"
@@TomP-148 We see it! They are in turn 4.
Box this lap!
I think its no coincidence that they rejected Andretti one day before this news drops. This is going to bury most of the bad press from the former decision.
There gonna try, but the market they are trying expand into more (USA) are not happy about having an American based team and manufacturer snubbed by Euros…

I agree. Seems like fake news. If it actually happens I’ll be shocked

Toto: Now George, we could see that Lewis was maybe a bit too high of a bar for you to live up to at this stage of your career but we also accept you need a mentor to show you the ropes. As such we've decided to hire an experienced driver to keep honing your skills without putting you under too much pressure
George: Oh thank god, I think hiring Nico Hul....
Alonso: Buenos dias, George!
* Alonso proceeds to give George a wedgie and steal his lunch money *
Alonso: We are going to have such a good time. Such a gooood time
Gotta redo that transfer window prediction video now :o
When Sainz couldn't get more than a one year deal at Ferrari it was obvious something was up, but I hadn't really thought this was it. I think the paddock knew because there was certainly a lot of eagerness to lock Norris and LeClerc down to long-term deals before this was announced to keep Mercedes scooping them up.
Yep because if you have any brain cells you'd be running to Merc. I genuinely can't believe Lewis played himself this hard. This is the guy that crys when his team makes a small mistake or the car isn't the best. Ferrari are going to push this guy to the brink of insanity.
Which is unfortunate cuz its not like he's doing bad at ferrari
@@SpartanArmy117 - Nonsense. The move makes sense. From a purely emotional/historical standpoint finishing strong with Ferrari has appeal.
Ferrari have also won a lot more poles and races the last 2 years than Mercedes/
I suspect Lewis may have looked at the sim runs for this years Merc and not been impressed.
Lewis is not a guy afraid to try new things. I was just listening to James Vowles talk about Hamilton's driving style and how Lewis in practice starts making changes as soon as he is out of the pits, exploring what works and what doesn't (which is why his practice times can be all over the place). James talked about how in Brazil the sims told them to use 7th gear up the hill, which Nico dutifully did but Lewis after about 2 laps said "this doesn't feel right" and used 6th gear instead - and gained 1/10 of a second.
It is interesting that nobody who actually works or worked with Lewis talks about him like you do.
@@cassyschraft6268 - Nothing wrong with Carlos, but if you are a team boss and you can pick between Carlos and Lewis,...
Carlos will have options next year, no doubt.
@@MFitz12 Merc beat Ferrari last year in a tractor. I rest my case.
Poetry in motion, really. Schumacher leads Ferrari, retires with Mercedes. Hamiltion leads Mercedes, seemingly to retire at Ferrari. Love the move, it’s perfect.
Lets just hope he doesn’t go skiing 🙏
