There are a bunch of folks in the comments below saying that 195,000 is way too expensive for this car. Go to the dealership and price one. You can grab one right now for less than 145,000 and possibly as little as 135,000 if you are careful about how the car is optioned. 11.2 isnt bad for a car that handles this well. I bet a few minor mods would put it into 10.8s......maybe better....with the same handling. All that being said, in my humble opinion it is too heavy(wonder about braking distances after repeated hard braking!), not very slippery looking, and as usual, i find myself wondering how long the battery for the front wheels will last and what it will cost to replace when it wears out. I bet it wont be anywhere near reasonable.
I agree with pretty much everything g you said, but "not very slippery looking"? This car looks extraordinarily aerodynamic and well planted to me.

Braking performance is actually very repeatable because of the immense regenerative braking afforded by the LiFePO4 cells they use in the battery pack.
Just upload the actual race.

I agree. There are too many car channels for teasers. By the time I remember to come back I normally don't have that much interest anymore or I've seen a similar race on someone else's channel.
I had a guy in the UA-cam comments recently telling me that the NSX is "garbage" and it looks "basic". What's wrong with some people? The NSX is anything but basic and just looks absolutely gorgeous to me.

It's great to have your videos as a baseline. I just recorded a video showing 10.88 sec quarter mile with 2.94 sec 0-60 in my stock NSX with Bridgestone RE980as all season tires off track in freezing temps with Dragy.

Put Tesla and Nsx on the track lets see how the tesla makes out. Sports cars aren't about drag times , why do u think the F1 cars are not the quickest in the quarter mile. Its about lap times. Comparing a full electric car with a hybrid proves nothing.

it would be well more then half a car behind doing a 3.8sec. the tesla can do the 0-60 in 2.3sec and the nsx stock around 3-3.1sec. So the LOL is all on you.
They have since uploaded the actual race with the Tesla. The NSX hit 60mph in 2.9 seconds. The Tesla did the 1/4 mile 0.14 seconds quicker. Not sure if that is what you all car a car length.
0 to 60 mph : 2.28 for Tesla and 3.0 for NSX.
1/4 mile : 10.5 s. for Tesla, and 11.3 s for NSX.
Those are big differences.
There's still life in petrols yet and 2k launch control - impressive!
While I love the looks, the NSX is the supercar everyone has already forgot.
This is going to sound like fanboy talk but NSX stands for new sportscar experience. Unfortunately Honda has not set this car up to be a 1/4 mile or hwy roll race car. It's a point A to B car. With front wheel electric motors designed to give it voodoo handling abilities and driver confidence. It seems to be Honda was trying to create a new driving experience with the car's configuration that hasn't been seen in this price bracket.

Bar Gym I agree. There’s not a car like this in that price range. Straight line speed is not bad for a car that was made for canyons and race tracks. I’m sure that engine is capable of making quite a bit more power once the tuners get their hands on it.

Biggest problem with the NSX is it's reliance on the electric motors. The combustion engine itself is only producing 500hp from 3.5 litres which is well down on most competitors. The Alfa QV produces that from 2.9 for instance. If the combustion engine was producing 600ish then it would transform the performance as it's clear the electric motors already get it off the line very cleanly.
never have been a fan of this car hate they way they sound but must say this one did sound pretty good with that exhaust. Huge improvement over stock.
If Honda makes a lighter weight NSX Type R in the future, I bet it could run a 10-second 1/4 mile.

It´s still a good car IMO, I just think everybody was expecting the new NSX to have the same impact on the rest of the field the original had. Something that is very difficult to achieve today. The car looks good in white, not so blingy.

For it to of made an impact it would of had to of been extremely cheap(not possible with the tech) or extremely fast! Not sure where they go next, the R will have to be a completely different animal to impress! Either go rwd and forget the electric BS but thats not going to happen!...The 720s has already proved hybrid tech is still years away from being effective, it out does the P1 in every department which is frightening!

For me the NSX is just plain cooler... There is just something beautiful about an internal combustion engine, no matter how outdated or archaic the design...

2018 mustang gt with a tune is running about the same , I thing the NSX is a nice car but would of thought with the bolt ons it has would be quicker especially on the top end.

Sounds great, I like how you can hear the turbos spool when free winding in N. However I’m confused about the aftermarket headers. NSX doesn’t really have headers per se because the individual exhaust ports are cast into the cylinder heads and the turbos bolt directly to the heads. Can someone enlighten to me?

My favorite comments on these types of videos are when people state how their 10k dollar car from the 90's can do 11 flat. Congratulations, it's a fast, old piece of shit. Any car can be made to be fast. It's about the whole package.

It is a fantastic achievement in automotive engineering, especially with its hybrid tech pushing an 11.2 second quarter mile 👍🏼 Yet at that price point though...an r8 v10 plus or turbo S would be..better

It's not, in any way. The R8 V10+ sounds godly and is faster, the Turbo S is elegant, practical and faster. And in every way, on track or off.

and the GTR ran a 11 flat in that race stock, P100D is a 10 second car.

When you use the launch control the engine is lower than 3000rpm to protect the engine, it can launch harder if they fix that

I think they could make a type r version pretty effective keeping the tech! Up the boost and add a little extra battery power aswell with better batteries....gut the interior, add super sticky one off tyres like porsche, gm and dodge do and watch the the thing set crazy lap times.
Then next time forget all the battery tech and do as you say!

I understand that the previous Acura NSX proved to be a legend. And I certainly respect that. But, I don't know about this one, though. I feel it's a bit overpriced, although I heard the pricing had been reduced at dealerships. I just don't think this new one could live up to the standards set by its predecessor. Ølly just an FYI I’ve never made anywhere near 100k a year but I’ve owned two 30k dollar C6 Z06’s and tracked the first one at pacific raceways road corse in Seattle as well as the quarter mile. My best was 11.8@125 with a 1.6 60’ on nitto invo’s otherwise stock. That car had 67k on the clock. Some asshole pulled across a street blind in front of me by by Vette. My current has an ecs novi 1500 making 529whp 500wtq with the restricter plate. I have a sportsman license. I have boiled my brake fluid on the track chasing a C7 Z. So I will ask you...what the fuck do you know? 300k plus, that shit is slow.
This car is the second gen ..the story about this car is a new drive experience or experimental car or something like that ..is just the second gen and is playing with the big boy's and is not a waste of money have more tech than a McLaren .Every brand have different approach for his sport cars and 4 me 11 sec car from the box is a fast car. this baby only need more boost and run 10 Something with 3,800 pound of 21 century tech
