I HAVE NEVER CRIED SO MUCH WATCHING A STORY. I had no idea this was a true story but 30 minutes into episode 2 I went on the internet to check because something just clicked in my soul, maybe because my first marriage was interracial

This man was loved. It was love allover the place even his dad came around. He was surrounded by love I am happy for him. When we say "may your soul rest in peace ", this is the meaning. I wish we could all die feeling loved.

@@rhondagilbert6253 True. Didn’t think about that. However, she always made sure to let others know she is not black, but Hispanic. Always taking roles met for black actresses. There is this beautiful black Italian actress, I believe her name is Lorena.
@@HaitianBlackGinger11 she really can be both ,and she has claimed her blackness, but at the same time, I loved the series, but it was a disconnect with her family, nothing about her seemed from a black,American, southern family, while her family played that true role. She to me, felt misplaced...and that's where I think they could have either picked a black actress that felt well into her family, or a family that reflected her better...
Nicole Beharie would have been a good pick she actually looks like the real life woman in this story, and she's a good actress... Black actress are never really offered main stream romantic roles, let alone a really juice role like this.

Yeah, I had recently watched this a few weeks ago without knowing anything about it. I was expecting a rom com. This was sooo beautifully not what I expected. Hit me so deep to my core. One of the best shows I have seen in a really really long time. Kudos to everyone involved and especially Zoe Saldaña who was incredible in it, really reminded me how immensely talented she is.

I was hooked on the first episode and binged watched the entire story until the very end

Breathtaking and unbelievable touching. As an 45 yr man divorced and only with my lawful 4 legged Podenco lady called Isabella.. I held her for 400 minutes... I think I understand the true meaning and comprehend the full pain and the full "from scratch" philosophy.. and yes a box with tissues is highly recommended.. wat a movie what an unbelievable way of capturing all these moments. Finding love, bonding between sisters, family and culture. Difference aside and find the true meaning of and in each other... Well done to the whole cast, producers and everyone. To make everything so intimate and small but in the most defined and sophisticated and beautiful way...

This was the show I downloaded for my trip to Italy to watch on the plane or my down time. I was up so late after sight seeing watching this and in the morning my hubby was worried bcus my eyes were so worn from crying while watching it every night. This movie has an emotional chokehold on me, just seeing the scenes I already want to cry
"From scratch" resonates with so many human emotions in a natural without forced kind of way. It didn't withheld the realness of every emotional struggle, happiness, sadness, piece. Each and every character did an incredible job. Row display of difference yet unity in cultures made me part of the story rather than outsider watching in. Zoe Saldaña was fantastic. Great show, don't forget to put a box of tissues when watching.
i never, NEVER cry at shows but this show absolutely shattered me. i watched it with my mom and we quickly fell in love with lino’s character. episodes 7-8 broke my heart to its core

OMG....I bought this book last year (2021) after falling in love with Sicily during my trip in 2019. I haven't gotten around to reading it yet. Didn't know this series was based on that book. I am reading it tomorrow.
