There's some cool physics here. When you drive the reverb moderately it vibrates like a string, that means it obeys Hooke's law and has a linear response: Put in frequency f1 with intensity a1 and f2 at a2, you get out something proportional to that, although it may dampen some frequencies more than others. Drive it harder and it goes into the nonlinear regime: only f1 and you get odd harmonics like 3*f1 and 5*f1. More frequencies at the same time, like a real audio signal, and you get all kinds of frequencies that are the sums and differences of the inputs. And that's basically distortion. If it's an asymmetric system, like slapping a bass, you also get even harmonics.
Oh my gosh. I loved this way more than i expected to. That is a beautiful sound and a brilliant way to get it. Now i wanna try to do this through my guitar. It sounds more....natural....for some reason.
Thanks so much! UA-cam shorts incentivizes my shorts being quicker to maximize watch time so they can reach more people, so I usually just put the full things up on bandcamp and/or in my second channel videos!
I like learning about synth and distorion and reverb i like the music that is being played here ;i like the loop especially because i feel like im in a cave thinking about how i can get out of it because im caved in
I have been following your shorts for a while and think you're really talented, do you have any plans releasing an album? I'd love to have your music on LP.
Please do something with the Marcodi Harpejji K24. With your collection of pedals and effects, you would be able to make sounds with it that its inventor could never imagine!
Nice! ....Great distortion? I just put a 1962 dated IEC branded Mullard ECC83/12AX7 in a super cheap tc electronics Tube Pilot. It doesn't starve the tube. I also have 36 other tubes that work in it, but each will have it's own character. I'm stoked to run SO MANY different things through it!
I am obsessed with getting a finegear dust collector, all analog table top effects unit. If you could get your mits on one that would make for some damn fine content. Not that you aren't already damn fine..
Weird vibe that I love. It's like NIN mashed with David Lynch, mashed with the Borderlands 1 sound track. Just add in some lap steel guitar and you have a bizarre Gotham meets Americana....
If the meter is input than it is probably more of the pre amp Which probably means the same sound can be achieved by using a transistor based overdrive through a reverb 🐙

That was really interesting I just know if you overdrive the channel it distorts so thanks
I like your funny words magic man
I wish I could like this more than once. Great stuff, I’m a physics nut but have always focused more in the areas of relativity and astrophysics
😭@@razrv3lc
Can’t believe that pedal has a whole season inside of it.
Damn it i had to read it twice to get the pun 😂
Ah, yes. Dystopian spring. Delightful.
right out of a movie soundtrack
LOVE distorted reverb
It has such a moody vibe, it's delicious
This is why I freakin’ love analog techniques, totally unique sound
this sound is so haunting and comforting at the same time. thank u beloved harp lady

That is incredibly pretty!
I love the sound, synth lady
Pretty cool! I can see you and TRENT REZNOR making some SICK music. Your videos are cool to chill and smoke to.
This sounds so cool. I want more!
That sounds amazing!
That's sick. It sounds very unique. I may do this in the future
I love these shorts but please let your songs play out a bit more because they’re always so good 😁

@@emilyharpist omg good to know!! Thanks!
@@emilyharpistwhat’s your second channel?

That sounds great! Very Silent Hill-ish atmosphere
😯 more please. Love that.
That's really cool, it almost sounds like playing behind the bridge on a jazzmaster-style bridge.😊
That's a cool sound👍
Delightful toneeeee 😍👹
Just got the samples and cycles myself!
That was sick I'd like to try that on guitar
I love the cycles so much
Hi Emily, I think your great. Thank you for sharing your love of cool stuff. It's really fun ❤🎉
I like learning about synth and distorion and reverb i like the music that is being played here ;i like the loop especially because i feel like im in a cave thinking about how i can get out of it because im caved in
Oof that is a beautiful overdrive u weren't lying
Fucking love this
Congratulations on 420 videos
That sounds super cool
Wow it's so cool that gothegg does music now
That's so damn cool.

This give dark mysterious vibes would go hard as a theme for lord of the mysteries
I am fully mesmerized by the harp. I’ve wanted to try to play one for as long as I can remember. It’s on my to do list for sure.
I like this. Reminds me of Silent Hill lol
That sounds so goood
My two year old just asked “what’s that teacher playing?”
That was incredible!!! Wasn't expecting that.
Oh! That’s sounding good! Would love to hear a longer version of that track!
Amazing, as always. And, I do want to check out that spring reverb myself.
This is super dope. Do you have music I can look up or some samples I can listen to? And if so where?
That sounds sick miss booba 🔥
Sounds so cool 🤩
That’s sick

Need full track on whatever you were playing plz Sounded fantastic!

Very ominous . I really dig this one !
Sounds like a Hotline Miami song

Look at the fancy lady with her real spring, looking down on us plebs having to get by with digital springs.
Oh. My. These noises do a brain in my head brain spring.
Sounds so beautiful. Also I’d understand if you change it one day but I will never get tired of your hairstyle
Reminds me of Spark
Why the hell do I recognize her face
Harp lady at it again
Distortion is just dissonance amplified.
I couldn't have said it better lol fx nerds
Goth egg

Well that's neat
Damn that sounds like some shit LORN does.
its kinda like an OD + reverb
Aggressive box opening like wtf did it do to you?
Is this song available?
it's literally a drum machine but it's not a drum machine 😳😳😳😳 !!!! dang
Cool
Ooooo Das nice
Have you ever looked into buying a harp guitar?
Is the synth what's fed into the spring reverb?
No, the harp!
@@emilyharpist Gotcha, thanks!
I’m so in love :’)
If she made a onlyfans, it would be #1 creator in 2.5 business hours.
Emily please please please tell me where tou got that shirt
I want to work with you
Is it distorting the pick-up on the spring or the transistors in the spring pre amp?
If the meter is input than it is probably more of the pre amp
Which probably means the same sound can be achieved by using a transistor based overdrive through a reverb 🐙
Wheres whoppie junnie
Needs germanium fuzz chaser😊
BÖÖÖÖH!
Gothegg?
@emilyharpist How do you overload the spring reverb pedal?
In theory you just have to hit it with a hot signal. So either crank the input level on the pedal, or put a boost pedal before it.
It sounds like a Scuare song
Nice
Emily!!!
I love you babe 😅
but is that distortion? or just a very slight signal breakup?
Depends how hard you push into it, but it’s distorting the signal either way
Thank you goth egg
Bro they are the same person I swear
Chorus sounds great
how much do I need to pay you to make a sample pack from the spring reverb distortion? cause holymoly that's a cool sound
