I started off only buying retail in my recent return to the hobby n a few yrs ago it wasn’t too bad but you r correct it has sucked out loud recently I don’t have huge $$ to spend on cards so I’ve found much more value in just buying single packs from hobby or FOTL from my local, it’s a shame cause retail so easy to come by but it never fails to disappoint greatly!! Got back into the hobby a few months ago. Ripped a box of NFL mosaic retail 2021 fat packs and pulled a Steve Largent /15 and a TLaw Genesis… that’s gotta be my best retail rip of 2022
Enjoy the retail reviews, as I have come to trust your opinion on the hobby. If a product is garbage, you'll say it. My best retail pull this year was a club level Tom Brady Zebra die-cut, from 2021 Select Football. First pack of Select I ever opened. Which of course, got me hooked, so.... Several hundred packs later, it finally dawned on me that Zebras are hard to hit. Have never pulled a second one. Very much enjoy your breaks, Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Nice video. I will say that some of the Topps retail products have good value (Bowman blasters, Topps Update, etc). Topps doesn't seem to limit contents in retail as much as Panini seems to (plus Topps includes the odds, which I appreciate).
My best retail pull recently was a Cade Cunningham Contenders Optic Auto from Chronicles Draft Picks. Loved your video and watched for the entire hour!
I haven't opened a whole lot, so I haven't pulled a whole lot, but my best I guess is a Panini Threads Aaron Rodgers jersey patch /299. I don't think it's worth much, but it's definitely the coolest thing I've pulled.

Thank you for your honest advice on retail these days. Helps me out a lot... being a kid I don't come across a lot of money so when I do buy a pack I am glad I know which direction to go. The best card I have pulled is a Keenan Allan 12/75 Panini Elite Auto.
I like the fact that Select retail base is different from hobby base. It keeps the hobby base value decent. Maybe they could switch the color, but most are used for parallels. 🤣

I’ve hit 5 autos in 6 blaster boxes on chronicles draft picks. Whitehead from Duke, Jovic and Dieng, and then a couple guys either in d league or overseas. I enjoy those blasters as I have been collecting Jaden Ivey in his Purdue uni.

In terms of the best pull from retail, it is nothing major like what I have seen from other comments, but either a Justin Herbert prizm black from chronicles or a Cade 75th anniversary parallel.
Appreciate the variety of products that you rip. I got burnt by Mosaic baseball last year (almost 1500 cards and can't even build a base set) so I'm not touching it this year. Best pull is a Davis Mills autograph numbered out of 25 from Playoff retail. Should have sold it while he was hot.

Watched it all the way thru no skipping :) Man retail can be brutal & why I havent ripped in long time so sports would be back in like 08 pulled a Jonathon Toews Young Guns that I still have in my collection. Ripped MTG to satiate the urge while not partaking in retail so best hit in that was in a reward pack at local lcs for Friday Night Magic.. Hit a Narset, Parter of Veils Japanese Alt Art Foil that was going for $400 at time. So still quite quaint next to a Zion 1/1 RC but that makes me happy for ya & it bringing ya to doing RGL breaks like it was meant to be. Also congrats on the new Zion 1/1 for your PC that is HUGE!!! I gotta get better at trading up or trading in to grab the stuff I say i can't afford bc then I'm sure I could lol, thanks for all the entertainment & the inspiration. Was intresting on difference from retail on hobby. Love doing the blaster due to money but I thought it was way more. Maybe look into some hobby for lower end brands. Thanks for the content

Tyler Lockett on card auto /25 out of a 2015 Topps Chrome Football blasters. Or maybe a Jay Cutler auto out of 2006 Topps Chrome blaster. Both were big at the time.
Really enjoyed the video! I don't know about my biggest hit from retail but my favorite was the 1992 upper deck Deion Sanders SP with him in his Falcons jersey transitioning to Braves jersey running the bases. I love that card and it's only worth $10.
I did pretty good with retail Topps Olympics years back. Think it was 2014ish. Since then haven't opened a ton of retail and what I have opened have been dusty.

Best retail pulls for me aren't huge - probably an Ant Edwards Blue Velocity (that graded a PSA 10) or a Nate Diaz Green Pulsar to 25 in Prizm (also graded a PSA 10)

My best retail pull was very recent. One 2022 Topps Chrome Update Mega Box fromTarget had two awesome hits in it. A Torkelson Rookie Debut Xfractor /99 and a Juan Soto Generation Now Autograph /25.
Oh yeah and recently after the red checkerboard waddle from select draft picks football 2022 mega box I pulled a Bailey Zappe auto# 5/5 I have for sale on OfferUp for $400 rn.

Best retail pulls for me aren't huge - probably an Ant Edwards Blue Velocity (that graded a PSA 10) or a Nate Diaz Green Pulsar to 25 in Prizm (also graded a PSA 10)
