This kid is really lucky having growing up with amps and woofer, at this age kids like to play with marbles and he is following his dad's passion. This time he is just like a 4" Tweeter but soon he will rumble and roar like a 24" Sub. Hope he will be a great dj, one day.
1 NYC DJ What are the box specs and what are they tuned to? Because they can play low notes loud. There's a difference in playing low notes loud and mid bass loud
Box was 2.7 cu ft and tuned to 38hz. For the power I was driving them with they played pretty loud, I had the subsonic filter at about 34hz, any lower and the sub would have unloaded and free aired.

Not all subs will work better in a bigger box, it depends what it was designed for some will actually sound better in a smaller box, again, it all depends on what T/S parameters are for the sub. As for getting another type R, you may need another amp to drive them, when you double cone area and double the the power you get a combined 6 db increase in SPL. 10 db is perceived by humans as twice as loud so yes you will notice a difference is spl.

My box is bout the same. It's a 4sq foot 1" thick. Tuned 35hz. With a cerwin Vega amp. Don't know the rms. They didn't tell me. I have always been told. That the cerwin vega amps are underrated. At the end of the day. I'm happy with it.
My son was the same way.. loved touching it while it would flex till one day I heard a funny sound when I looked my RF POWER hx2 sub had the dust cap stumped in.. he stumped it so hard not only did the dust cap get smashed in but the coil got smashed to where the sub couldn’t flex anymore 😆🤣
I have the exact same setup, except my box is the Bass Atrend SPL-12 . Slams TF outta my trunk and I use a LOC because I wanted to.jeep.the head deck original, because it's a pain to change out the 2012 Camry SE wiring.
i got 2 alpine type r 5th gen 12's, with 2 kenwood kac-9106d on them. feeding them a true 1,000rms each and it bangs. got 6 kenwood tweeters, and 4 kenwood excelon 7" xr-1800 being pushed with a kenwood kac-8406. big 4 and 2 runs of skyhigh ofc 0 gauge wire to optima red top under rear seat then to optima yellow top in trunk. 500 amp pac battery isolater inbetween each battery and a 270 dc alternator. vented box tuned to 34hz
That entire build is gone, I now have a Clarion NX-605 head unit, driving an Orion 4500.2 mids/highs amp driving 4 Cadence XT20 bullet tweeters and 4 Skar 6.5 inch midbass. For subs I now have an Ampere Audio AA-5000.1 driving two DC Audio XL 15 inch mounted inverted in a Atrend 6 cube box tuned to 34hz.....As soon at the subs break in a bit I'll make another video. Needless to say, the new build is on a whole new level.
just a suggestion, but put 2 o r 3 coats of polyurethane on the inside of the box and you will notice the difference bigtime. make sure to get quick dry time polyurethane or it will take a long time between each coat

How is that rockford handeling the 1 ohm load? Any overheating/protect mode. And do you just have one (XS) battery in the front engine bay or a stock engine bay battery with an XS in the trunk?

I’m asking because I just ordered the same Rockford amplifier as you and I have a 140 amp alternator in my vehicle with only 1 yellow top optima battery in the engine bay. The sound really good, just don't go over 800 watts, I had those on 1000 watts and you can smell the coils burning. They are a lil overrated on the power handling but do sound really good.

The amp gets only mildly warm even after an hour at high levels, stock battery plus the XS in the trunk.
