Very informative. Can you let me know what model of Vitamix I should buy to grind the small quantity dry spices and thick batters with soaked rice and urid dal?

Great video, found it while wondering if I could make garam masala in my Vitamix. Interesting to know that the Vitamix can grind even a small number of peppercorns.

Do you have to use the dry container to grind spices? Can you just use the regular big container that comes with the blnder to grind spices?

Hello. Found this video. Can you explain the real world benefits of buying the extra dry container + blade instead of using the one that comes standard with it (the tall one used for virtually everything else)? Thanks

I use it for my seed to make Flour (Winter Red Wheat, Splet, Oat and others), my fresh herbs I dried from my garden, even Cacao Nibs and Sugars like Coconut Palm Sugar. It powders them for toppings on dessert. Did I mention seeds and Beans? Love to make my Chickpea flour for Noodles. So many things you use it for including fresh organic Coffee Beans! :-)

Because they're different systems. One is wet & other dry. So if you put almonds in the dry one you get almond flour if you put almonds in the standard one you'll get almond butter.

@@dawahlady thanks! I somehow missed that detail. Incredible how different blades cause different textures. Where does the water or oil content go with the dry blade?

@@blakelwhitney another benefit of having a separate dry grinder is that the jar itself gets scratched from the seeds, rice, nuts. You can look it up on UA-cam there's videos explaining the blade system of the dry grinder. It's different in shape & purpose & creates a different way of processing the food in the jar pushes the contents up fluffing them up instead of the standard one which those blades make the food go down into the blade.

Can I grind a small amount of Flax seeds in the dry container or would that be too light and make it powder dust? Thx

I've grounded flaxseeds to a powder to make flaxseed wraps. I believe you can control how fine you want the seeds to be. I hope this helps.

Yeah I agree with nspireu. You should be able to control the fineness with the speed settings of any high powered blender, though extreme amounts, large or small, can create difficulties in these machines.
