    I've had a Vitamix for a couple of years and never really used it. Now I'm retired and am interested in eating healthy. This video demonstrated how to use and what to use the Vitamix for. I'm making a green smoothie right now.

    2:49 No, the blades are DULL and are designed that way to bash and batter to give a completely smooth texture whereas sharp blades will cut and slice and will not produce a completely smooth blend. You do not have to be careful at all reaching your hands to the bottom of the container when it is off of the unit and makes it super easy to clean in those 1% cases where the self cleaning method doesn't get everything on the bottom.

    I had my stomach removed so this is a great machine for getting calories as I am no longer hungry. I do freshly squeezed orange juice with protein powder and chia seed. I can get 700 calories into my body real quick. I lost 50 lbs and need to keep my weight up.

    This seems like an awesome program for children..I know in America there's a big issue in the summer for kids. Most of the time, they are limited in their food choices during summer. This seems like a program that should be implemented everywhere. And the kids would probably enjoy seeing the food blend.

    Great info on the machine. I thought I had broken mine when I was making hummus. It worked wonderfully the first time I made it. The second time I doubled the recipe and it didn’t mix it like it did the first time. I didn’t know about the high speed selector. I will try that the next time. I’m still wondering if it is not working properly and am afraid to use it.

      @GlennaVan Рік тому

      It's heavy enough it doesn't really need to. Unlike a food processor (at least mine which needs to be "locked" in place), once it's on the base, it's not going anywhere - it just needs to be properly in place.

    I had a Vitamix-the blades stopped working 1st day & it's too tall to fit under cabinets & it was loud & clunky also... The BEST Blender as tested by real chefs on youtube for under $200..( $148) is the BREVILLE Fast & Furious.. I love it, fantastic, quiet, computerized, perfect design & size * it blows every other blender away.. it's the perfect blender for daily use.

The new generation " low profile " models don"t go up to 30,000 rpms ! And won"t blend less than 4 cups , I did my research O.K , so think twice about buying the best model !

    Not to mention if you really want to compete against other name brands you must come down on your price. Remember what China did, they sold their items very cheap to compete against America and before long America it was buying nothing but China made products so Chyna stole in essence sales from us and now we will have a hard time getting it back unless we can compete by eliminating them. If we produced superior quality products but the cost is exactly the same as what China sells America would surely be more interested in buying a better quality for the same price as a China product then you can put china out of business and when you have the corner of the market you can start raising your prices again. I think it's worth it for American companies to drop their prices of goods because it would only be a short time before Americans would start buying American-made products again.

    • @GlennaVan
      @GlennaVan Рік тому

      I guess what country you buy from depends on your ethics up to a point. American products cost more mostly because labor costs more so the businesses cannot "drop prices." Sadly, some things are not made in the U.S.A. but those that are, I always buy American which is why I have a VitaMix, Cuisnart, etc. Yes, I pay more but I don't have images in my head of babies laying wrapped in a blanket at their mothers' feet in a factory at a sewing machine. I've walked away from many purchases because I could not find an American product and that especially includes food products! Frankly, it disgusts me that so many will buy from China, putting our own population out of work, then our government borrows money from China!!! Why anyone would pay five cents less for a package of pencils made in China escapes me! It is even difficult to find fabric made in America to sew our own clothing
      Yes, it is more of a political comment but also states why I bought a VitaMix (and for my granddaughter and my son) rather than something less expensive.
