Hi! and well done! I'm looking at this challenge now. I have Wahoo Kikr Snap and I see its the 'Ride to the Sky' route you choose for this. You go from the start of that route, then keep going till you reach the top. I guess the descent is automatic ie there is nothing to click you just keep going - or get off and let the avatar descend alone. However at the bottom of the descent would the route not just take you right back to the beginning of the Ride To the sky? Do you have to click on the turn function yourself to go back up again? I guess you don't want to add that 4 km approx intro each time? I will try it a few times myself before committing - just wondered if you just follow the route as a loop or if you click manually to turn once at the bottom please?
Hi barry you can simply do a U-Turn by using the down-key or the menu. you don‘t want to ride any extra miles. So you can turn immediately after the KOM banner at the top and after passing the start at the bottom still I think you will need a smartrainer at 100% for it to count. I might be wrong so please doublecheck at everesting.cc Good luck and remember: focus on the small goals ahead!
@@SlowtwitchDe Yes the Wahoo Kickr Snap is a smart trainer can do 100% so that's no problem. I just needed to understand how to go up and down as you did. Ive never bothered with the keys on any rides, I just follow the route. However now I see from what you say what I must do. So I will do some single climbs get to know the route and get comfortable with how, when and where to turn. Then I can set a date for the challenge - thank you ! :)
Gadgets: what did you use? iphone for the ride? companion for the map/chat? How did you ensure iphone battery is consistently charged. Did the phone not overheat? I don't wanna use laptop, i heard a lot of horror stories on responsiveness. My iphone experience has been good (plus i get to project onscreen) but just not sure how it'll handle 17-24 hours of just going and going.
I want to do an everest but I do not understand how it would really work indoors. Regardless though I am sure you worked extremely hard so congrats on that
I'm hoping to vEverest on Alpe du Zwift in the next few months. What preparation training did you do for it? Also how often did you change riding clothes and eat?
Hi mate, i've just finished an outside Everesting i'm Colombia and i wanna do it on Zwift, My question is what happen if for some reason the internet or the advice loose the conection whit Zwift? You loose all your Job?
Nice Job! Zwift will keep running and everything will keep counting You just wont't see other riders that are online. Iz will also reconnect once the connection is been re-established - so no worries Ride ON!
Sau stark Stephan! Danke für das Video, ich werde mich auch bald daran versuchen. Verrätst du dein Gewicht und FTP? Würde gerne so circa abschätzen wie viel länger ich brauchen werde :-)
Hi Stephan! When you took a shower or eating, change clothing etc, you paused the activity cliking on the MENU button or you did it during the descent from the top? If you pause the activity this means you dont achieve the everesting or not? Another question... did you start from where from watopia? Or did u select Road to Sky route? Thank you!!
We rode road to sky and used the 4km lead-in as warmip. zwift was on the entire time no pauses we ate in the decents it‘a also all in the live feed :) I think you can also pause the ride and still would get the badge but why would you do that?
One moment I think it’s ridiculous, the next I think I might do it
Thank you for your awesome advice!
Well done Stephan!
I did an Everesting outside, it must be easier indoors as you can have a nice rest on the Aple Du Zwift descent. Still tough though, I'm sure.
Where did you do it outside?
Congratulations.
Let me ask you a question!
When you get down from the port, do you make a U-turn to go back up?
Thanks!
yes
a simple U-turn dose the job

Das sind dann 67kg bei derzeit ca 310 watt
What mountain did you have in mind for everesting outside?
Mauna Kea
What prize do you get

Do you only use 100% simulation for this challenge, or do you stay at this setting year round?
Only for this challenge! Too much shifting otherwise
@@SlowtwitchDe Why not 0%?
For whatever your FTP is, what power zone did you do the climb in? Zone 2, 2.5 or 3?
That was zone 2
@@SlowtwitchDe Cool, thanks
