you can use gold pearls as catalysts too it will give a little less than essentia but will give more than the pot (i think) you can experiment this with other reagents if you want to prove me wrong
You deserve my sub. Now all I need is a bagillion dark sea essentia so I could boost my clan and get the whole pvp division sunken gear and power/armor scrolls after all good players can’t pvp if they don’t have builds to match their opponents.
And btw, having a full merchant crew ship only, is like swimming in cheap resource hesven, you can farm like 1000 healing flowers in hours, or get coal or some other goodies for some cheaper coins, rather than trade for it on players

were you using a toughened rod? cause thats the only rod it works with. But the game hasn't been updated since I made this video, so the method should still work

However, the fishing in the game is also weird and it didn't let me reel in a fish even though one appeared, or it'd lag while I was reeling in the fish and it would cancel my reeling process, I think most of those are just game issues for me and I could've gotten more if the game's fishing mechanic wasn't so.... ugh.
That's not true, if you let a legendary fish rot you get 2 legendary scales instead of the 1 you get from cooking it. You can test it out yourself on golden fish since they do the same thing.

The only explanation I can think of for that is that on the wiki the range of the dark sea that gives insanity 1 is called the 2nd range, while the area that gives no insanity is called the 1st range

@@malimi6727 it doesn't have any effect, technically the odds should be the same, but only using a normal pot will severely limit the amount of profit you'll make. brewing the luck four pots in a golden pot will give 37.5 minutes of luck per pot, or an hour and 15 minutes of luck 4 per five legendary scales, which should basically guarantee profit. if you can't find any golden pots, silver pots should do just fine and you should still make profit, just not as much. Not getting a single legendary fish from two luck four brews is honestly just really unlucky, and I don't really know what to say about it lol.
nvm, i tried this with 3 luck I potions and found 3 massive fish in 30 mins if i get 6 southern cod in a row again im gonna delete my save i was in insanity I and using a toughened bronze rod too
yeah, no. that would be a little op lol. Luck 4 is required to guarantee a modified fish with every catch, and the golden and massive modifiers both raise a fish's rarity by two stages, making fish that would normally be rare legendary instead.

i cooked a golden basking shark (in 1.16) and got 2 leg scales and one golden scale. would letting it rot give me double?
The only problem with this is getting dark sea essentias but ig you can just trade for them
jellyfish flesh works too, except it's only for one person and lasts half the amount of time...
You can get dark sea essentia with underwater golden chests in normal sea (I got like 4 already but you kinda need a bit of luck)
But we need legendary fish scales in order to make the luck potion... And for that we need legendary fish

i did the same with toughened bronze and I only made 1 each hour when ppl were getting 7/8. Must just be luck but it works for other ppl
