Stay Tuned for a New LPE Powered Porsche 911 Chassis video coming out in 2 weeks. Which model of Porsche 911 should i build?, 911 964 RSR? Comment Below 😀
Amazing engine! Btw consider also the 911 959...
959 would be pretty cool actually
maybe the 911 since lego did it
@@hunter7476 That would be much more difficult, since that model doesn't have enough space to fit the engine. It would be easier to build the car around the engine than fitting the engine in a car...
no like recreate the porsche 911 not use the one lego made
Thanks mate, you’re a legend.
Thanks
This is truly a marvel of modern engineering. And to think this was constructed from a child’s toy. My mind is blown.
Absolutely Pleasing to the eyes !
I'd go for a Porsche 964, but this is matter of personal taste. Listen to your feelings and the crowd will happily follow.
Great job, once again fellow !
Thanks, i calculated the engine will just fit between the rear tires if i build the 964 rsr in 1/8th scale
@@GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshopImpressive, as your engine is absolutely massive! Curious to see the final build ;) Happy engineering!
@LEGO LORD'S GUNS Thank you for your well appreciated support :)
Thanks, i also plan to make a Instagram for posting WIP photos and extra content. Stay tuned
👍👍
This is magnificent
Thanks
Just ordered this kit off of your website. I can't wait to get it, I'm so excited
Awesome! Thank you!
Nice! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks
Finally !!
It's awesome !
Thanks
This is some awesome work!! It turns so smoothly, and fast! Great job. I love the sleek design, and the way it resembles a Porsche engine. Well done!
Thank you, i also might add some extra detailing when i use it in the 911 build
Green Gecko Lego Technic Workshop i see. I bet it’s gonna look awesome. Well until then, good luck on the project !
push it to the limits ! over killed this LPE engine
90 psi is pretty overkill anyway, any more and you need to start gluing stuff
You have done excelent!
Thanks
Wow amazing
Thanks
Great !
Thanks!
even sounds like a porche wow just wow!!!!!
Awesome build!!!
Thanks
New video! Nice creation!
Thanks
A heavy cylinver engine, cool.
This is a realy great engine! I also build LPEs but without modified parts.
Thanks
Wow, amazing work! A like the v8 one a little bit more, mostly because the sound, but this is also great. And i think with your building skills, you should definitely do a convertible Porsche, like the 718 boxter.
Thank you, i will definitely consider the 718. I calculated the engine will just fit between the rear wheels on a 964 RSR 3.8L (911), so i might stick with that one. Chassis is half way there already, stay tuned for the chassis video. 👍
@@GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop That's a good decision, i love the old air cooled Porsches. I'm also very-very curious, how will you manage the chassis, because it's mostly following curved lines, especially at the rear end of the car. Have a good time building it!
It is amazing! And will be W16?
Thanks, the W16 will come out early next year
@@GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop thanks
# mind blown well done i will consider making this as on my list your i3 impressive good luck
Thanks, a new improved i3 is coming out asap
No, thank you you are the one posting these epic engines and other neat stuff
Really cool though
Thanks
Can’t wait for your w16!!
It's getting there... 😃
Im saving for the Complete Kit - 1 Cylinder Switchless LPE on your store super cool
Awesome!
When is the Porsche comming? Im excited for it, its been two years.
Ik like the engine👍
could you make another v8 but change the crankshaft to flatplane so it could meaby rev higher or atleast sound different
I actually am making a new V8 LPE today. A flat plane crank v8 was the idea, it should rev higher and sound different. I also have to use the newer type of switches because of the limited supply these days. It will also be cheaper on MOCHUB too.
If you have the urge to merge with wheels four, the channel is here (Green Gecko Lego Technic Workshop). So slip a gear and put the pedal through the floor!
Love it
Thanks, brother! Unfortunately, I didn't make it up. :( I got it from the character, Crow Dazzle, from the Mad Max game (great game by the way, you should check it out if you don't know about it). But I am coming up with other vehicle-related riddle\ poetry. :)
i am currently building a rear driven car as close to a porsche 911 as posible with the engine in the rear but i run into some issues trying to mounting it aswell as having a real independent double wishbone setup
Also, this would be perfect in the VW bus set.:)
Just cut 1/3 of the engine off
You Have to put it in an Rc Porsche
imma sub now
I will put stiffener shaft on my engine
I'm poor and have a soda bottle compressor, because broke my father's compressor from an LPE. xD
Nothing wrong with using a soda bottles for air tanks, i still use them
Green Gecko Lego Technic Workshop where is the link for 2:11
How did u break an air compressor running a Lego engine 😂
How do you make a soda bottle air compressor
@@milesdzineku9940 use a soda bottle
How is your 911 going?I can't wait to see it ! I'm also make pneumatic engine and I wish I can design a pneumatic power vehicle like you did :)
The 911 project is still being built, i had to make a MK2 V8 LPE for a MOCHUB campaign. And i was away on holiday for nearly a month, once the V8 video is done the 911 will be finished. I also had to get a new PC to edit in 4K.
I might be listing the 911 on MOCHUB once it is done
Green Gecko Lego Technic Workshop Great :)
What type of tubing do you use? Where do you buy it? Like the engine by the way; I just love the way LPEs sound like an actual engine (minus the exhaust roar).
Ebay is where i get it, check the about area on my channel. There is a link there or on the MOCHUB listing. make sure to get the 2x4mm size
Hi, first of all: Great engine, I really like it. I do have to questions though. Is it possible that the size of your sliders is limiting you rpm range? Because if you look at your v8, it has a seperate crankshaft, but still revs higher. I think your sliders are so (relative for lego) heavy, that they limit your max rpm.
Further, how is the rpm range over the pressures between 5 and 90 psi? You have to take into account that the higher the pressure, the higher the friction in the (fairly small) tubes. That results in a loss of pressure, thus a loss in rpm. That's why I think your sliders should be smaller, then you can reach higher rpm at lower pressures. Another thing would be wider tubes. I use 2.5mm x 4mm. The tube is very stiff, it fits stronger than normal lego tubing. This reduces the inner friction even more.
Hope I can help you with making this amazing engine even better.
Thanks, the reason why this LPE doesn't rev as high as my V8 is because it uses Big Cylinders instead of the small size ones in my V8 LPE. The big cylinders consume more air and the small 2x4mm tubing can only allow for so much air to pass through.
if i increase the tubing size or used small cylinders, it would rev as high or higher than the V8 at the same pressure. I ran it at 90 psi to get enough air through the tubing to reach 1000 rpm. The sliders are the same as the V8 lpe.
Nice engine Gecko! How powerfull is ur 1 cilinder engine? I maybe want to make trial truck but dont know which one of ur engines is powerfull enough for it.
Thanks, the 1 cylinder is not powerful enough for a trial truck. i recommend my inline 3 cylinder i made a while ago, it has the perfect mix of power and compactness
@@GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop Okay thanks for your answer!
Is LPE compact enough for trial truck? Because you need some air tank
Which Lego Technic set do you recommend I should use for normal Technic parts to build something like this?
All of the new large flagship technic sets are great for getting parts, however some more rare parts are easier to buy separate on bricklink. if you want to build this engine or my other ones, you can buy them on MOCHUB - www.mochub.com/user/107. Thanks
I read somewhere that you don’t use Lego tubing and I was wondering what diameter you use and where you get it from. Thanks!
I use 2x4mm food grade silicone tubing on ebay - www.ebay.com/itm/2M-Soft-Rubber-Clear-Food-Translucent-Silicone-Tube-Approved-Milk-Hose-Beer-Pipe/182604417064?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=485168362135&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
3:32 slow then fast (insert lenny face)
Would it work with 2 pistons?
Now just a scale version of the rsr that goes with this engine
Wow a lot better than a lot of LPEs, how long can it run on one tank of compressed air?
Thanks, unsure yet. i will test the Liters per minute when i do the lpe powered 911 video
The sound is like inline 4
와 ㄷㄷ 내연기관 없어지면 실제로 이거 생기면 좋겠네요
Could you replace a cylinder or two with a pump to prolong the the life of the air tank
No, that would just consume more air and power
Have you modify the cilenders ?
Yes, it can also run without modified pneumatics as shown
Sounds like a cammed V8 with the unmodified cylinders
If you buy the engine are the cylinders pre-modified?
Yes they are
Mechanical timing advance to get more power from it?
That's still something i am developing
I6 Toyota/Nissan would be neat.
A Toyota SR5 Hilux 1985 would be interesting, Ill try and make it work
Pneumatics have an exhaust? Lego pneumatics?
Amazing engine! What the song?
Thank you! Music is from ArtList, i cant remember the track name sorry
Yo where did you get all the parts to make your projects
From Bricklink.com, also from Sets
I wish more people built LPEs like this, and even more that people would build transmissions and vehicles around them! I've only seen a couple and while impressive were not very well designed or quick in any manner...
Have you seen my V8 LPE Powered hot rod? Check it out
You need to start selling this again
Were do you get the pistons
You can get the pistons here: www.greengeckoworkshop.com/collections/pneumatic
I'm waiting for new video!
I have been away on holiday for 17 days, and got back yesterday. A new Engine video will be out in a few days
@@GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop all right.
does it need a fly wheel to run
no because of the crank design, only 1 cylinders need a flywheel
You say 5 to 90 psi. I take it this means that it will just creep along and rotate slowly at 5 psi, correct?
correct
Green Gecko Lego Technic Workshop thanks!
Hey Green Gecko 🦎! I would like to build your engine but I’m just missing the cylinders and switches. I found them on EBay for $75, but do you know any cheaper way or app I can use?
Thx
check out bricklink, the cylinders go for about $10 usd and the switches go for about $2 usd
Green Gecko Lego Technic Workshop ok thx. And are the older cylinders, the one with the square attachment, working on this engine too?
Yes, the old ones work the same.
Green Gecko Lego Technic Workshop great! I appreciate the help, Gecko. Modifying the cylinders is going to be difficult, but I’ll try my best using your tutorials. Are the modified switches the same way as the ones shown in your video?
green gecko vs sariel
Its been a year where is the car at?
It's looks a Bugatti's motor!!
Bugatti uses a W16 in the chiron, i am currently making a W16 LPE
That's cool but for $320 I could buy an actual engine.
