I love the Devil from the game is a psychopath that went out of his way to lie by saying he will spare Cuphead and Mugman if they basically kill innocent people and take their soul contracts to give to him just so he could have more souls along with Cuphead and Mugman, however in the show he is pretty much a Saturday cartoon villain.
Most of the backgrounds are 2D. They are painted digitally to replicate watercolour backgrounds of the era, right down to the texture of the paper. But yeah, a small handful of sequences involving elaborate camera movements were given physical sets; the studio in charge of them, Screen Novelties, worked really hard to make sure their models felt like they existed in the same universe as the 2D backgrounds. So really, it's a testament to how consistent everything looks that you'd think more of the backgrounds were physical models :D
As someone who’s never played the game, I highly recommend you watch the series. It’s funny as Hell, and is one of the only cartoons that has half a plot that I can enjoy
While playing the game i always imagined him to have like really deep voice but this one is even better and him having a high vocals is making his character even more brilliant

the devil doing the raptor arms when he’s talking to a bunch of the imps in the different departments shortly before the party scene honestly gives me life as someone who does them without realising and gets super self-conscious and embarrassed about it when I do realise, it’s one of my favourite moments in the show just because I feel seen, and speaking of favourites, this is easily my favourite video I’ve seen about this show, your editing and little comments are hilarious, thank you for this :) edit: also, while I know this is a video about the devil, can we just acknowledge how dice screams in lowercase at 1:09? that scene is easily one of the best in the entire show, that scream is always funny to me, the animation looks incredible, overall it’s just a brilliant scene. also, the bonk sound when the devil hits henchman after cuphead and mugman run away gets me rolling every time, I’m surprised how long it took me to recognise it
