My eyes tear up for Stevie when I see him so happy and healthy, done with his demons, the band of brothers still solid with him. If ever anyone has earned and deserves his place as a Legend in music history it is SRV. God bless his soul.
I was so fortunate to see him live in NYC 1987. I didn't know who he was, I wanted to see Greg Allman who opened for him. Now I'll never forget who he is, the greatest guitar player I've ever seen. RIP, brilliant man. I thoughts that I'd see you again.
Thank you so much for keeping Stevie Ray's legacy alive. I love your reactions especially when he does his stink face. Why are the greatest ones taken from us too soon? RIP💔 SRV🎸
I was there that fatal night in Alpine Valley Wisconsin. The ticket was Robert Cray, Stevie Ray & Eric Clapton; guest stars were Stevie's brother Jimmy (Fab T-birds) & Buddy Guy. They all jammed together well past midnight. The last song Stevie ever played on stage was Sweet Home Chicago. Funny thing is that's where the copter was heading when it went down with him in it. It is still the foggiest night I've ever known in all my 60 years
WOW! What a line up! Throw Reese in there, must have been great. But such a sad ending. God I wish they had stayed grounded. Didn't get far. Lost one of the best, in his prime.
Watching you react, your face, your body language, your true honest emotional reaction to the music. AWESOME!!! Love watching your reactions. This is now one of my favorite videos you've done. Thanks Man!!!
This is originally a Buddy Guy song. Buddy Guy and Stevie are the only two guys I know cool enough to pull off “Mary Had A Little Lamb”, with Double Trouble, of course. I saw Stevie play with Buddy Guy the last time Stevie played with Double Trouble in Austin, May 4, 1990. Buddy played in Austin last Saturday. He’s 87 now, and has been recording since the 1950s. Hendrix studied him. You should check out the great Buddy Guy. Thank you for this!
I saw Buddy August 2013 At Ravinia in Highland Park Illinois front row best concert even eclipsing SRV. ! saw Stevie the Saturday night before he died at Alpine Valley and 3 other times
I was stationed in FT. Hood Tx. In 85 & 86. SRV was everywhere, fell in love with him. Seemed like he was just starting to get national attention and then he passed away 😢. Enjoy your reactions always. Would love to have a beer with you and your brothers.👍
Stevie's Bassist, Tommy Shannon, and Drummer, Chris Layton, played with the ARC Angels backing up Charlie Sexton and Doyle Bramhall II. Might be worth a listen. Love what you do, keep up the good work!
As awesome as this song is from this concert, which was an appearance on "Austin City Limits," the two tracks that stand above all the rest are "Cold Shot," the rare Double Trouble song where it's not Stevie Ray playing the best solo in the tune, but Reese Wynans on the Hammond organ; and the instrumental "Riviera Paradise," which Stevie wrote during rehab and named after the facility where he got clean. It is a gorgeous, yearning, beautiful jazzy voyage, fully imbued with the pain he endured and overcame. He introduced it at the show the same way he did every time he would play it live for the rest of his life: "This one goes out to everyone who is still suffering in any way." My eyes get wet just typing out that sentence. I cannot recommend that song strongly enough for you, Jamel.
"Any reason to funk out, take it" - SRV... This is another transcendental song where he takes us on our tour is different sounds and temps, and we keep asking that magical mystery bus driver to keep driving. I am waiting until you discover CHANGE IT.
When you put a guitar in this mans hands, you witness what GOD's talent can do. When it comes to guitars, SRV is GOD. There will NEVER be another with this much talent again. He was self taught. He would listen to old blues icons, and learn it one note at a time. I truly wish that todays artist had a fraction of his natural talent.
Mannn, I’ve been watching your content for a while, and I cracked a smile when I saw Garcia’s image in the back, but, SRV is ALWAYS a treat. POWERFUL JOY right there.
This song was written by a great Blues artists named Buddy Guy who was a good friend of Stevie Ray Vaughan's, Buddy Guy wrote this song in 1968 and on July 26, 1968 he released it. Eric Clapton said he was in London Marquee Club in 1965 and he was watching Buddy Guy perform, Buddy Guy picked his guitar and you see Stevie Ray doing that, he played the guitar over his head and with his teeth so when you hear Jimi Hendrix was the original not true it was the amazing Buddy Guy. My husband and I went to see him in Traverse city about 5 yrs ago and what a show, he took the drummers stick and started playing his guitar with the and he was sweating so bad he grabbed a towel wiped his face and started playing his guitar with the towel. Stevie Ray, Robert Clay, Buddy Guy and Stevie Ray's older brother Jimmie Vaughan went to East Troy Wisconsin to open 2 shows for Eric Clapton, Jimmie said in an interview that Stevie Ray came down from his hotel room and told Jimmie he had a weird dream that he died and he was looking down at alot of people crying. On August 27,1990 after Eric Clapton's set they all came out and played Sweet Home Chicago, that was the last song Stevie Ray ever performed and I know you know what happened next 😢
Hi Jamel, there is a fabulous singer named Imelda May that has some amazing music. Her style is big band/jazz music. She has also performed with Robert Plant Jeff Beck Ronnie Woods etc… she not huge commercially ( which I don’t understand) because she is incredible. Please check out Big Bad Handsome Man and Voodoo Working. I think you will love her
I could be wrong, but you're missing the funkiest SRV song ever. "Couldn't Stand the Weather". He played it at this show. But the one you want is Capitol Theatre 1985.
I'd like to see you react to SRV on acoustic guitar, "Life by the Drop". Not sure if there's any video of him playing it live, it came out just before his death.
How the hell do you turn a nursery rhyme into that? When I saw the title I thought it must be a play on words! No, it was no play on words! He flat out blew my mind. The thought that comes to mind is: Someone said "I got a song you can't get a rise out of!" Stevie said "Hold my beer!" Wow!
When in college and waiting tables at the Premier Family Pizza Shoppe in our area...Everybody in the neighborhood showed-up to the weekly Friday Night SRV Jam with Pizza, Beer and GREAT COMPANY to make it the most fantastic 'Tip Night' to pay for all those credit hours that saved money on Student Loans. Saw him in Indianapolis right before the tragic crash and his was a show never to forget. Fantastic man always available to his fans leaving a huge mark in music...Gone from the world way too soon.
Shout out to Tommy Shannon on bass and Chris Layton on drums. They have been with SRV since the early days. Reese Wynans on keys was added late in the game. Not that it knocks his skill at all.
Haven’t seen the “Stank Face” for a while. Better than Groovy is what I say. Brought the “Stank Face” out. Could you imagine Johnny Winter, BB King, Jimi Hendrix, and SRV all on the stage together. What might have been. I really didn’t get into the style of SRV until after he passed away. I regret never getting to see him in concert. What a talent. As they say “the candle that burns twice as bright often burns half as long. “
So nice listening to this masterpiece and watching you jam out to this and watching your stinkface come out, I love it, thanks Jamal for making my day.
Effortless perfect blues pickin and sliding. SRV live on any night. Sometimes nastier than others. Tin Pan Alley live, I swear I saw smoke and fire coming out around Stevie's nostrils and fingertips. The dude was possessed. Best live performer. All genres. Ever. Rush is best live band on whole but Double Trouble with Stevie out front was a religious experience.
Dude you need to do a compilation video of you making your different stank faces, the one you made in this one right when Stevie started his solo was both priceless and hilarious.
I figured it be best to comment on your most recent video. I recently got into watching reaction videos and so far I've watched probably 50 of yours. I'm 21 and grew up on classic rock. And I feel the music in the same way you do and I really feel I can connect with you there. Awesome videos. Based on what I've seen, I have two very strong recommendations I'd love to see you listen to. "Drink of Water" by Ambrosia and "My Kind of Lady" by Supertramp. Keep up the great work man! Peace 🫶
Jamel, I hope your still doing these videos. I absolutely love to see your reactions! You crack me up. But, If you really wanna go nonstop "stankface", you have got to hear Stevie Ray sing Leave my Little Girl Aloñe I promise, you won't be sorry!
Love SRV , Here is a super video " Ry Cooder Concert for New Orleans " Ry Cooder, Buckwheat Zydeco and Lenny Kravitz and The great voice of Irma Thomas. Long video can break t up into parts. Ry Cooder is one of the greatest slide guitarist. He did an album with Taj Mahal last year .
A dang children's nursery rhyme...only Stevie Ray could turn it into a jam like this. First heard it on "Texas Flood" album...all I could think was "a nursery rhyme?!".. Dang I often think of what could have been, but...God chose different.
I was there that fatal night in Alpine Valley Wisconsin. The ticket was Robert Cray, Stevie Ray & Eric Clapton; guest stars were Stevie's brother Jimmy (Fab T-birds) & Buddy Guy. It is still the foggiest night I've ever known in all my 60 years
I was also at that concert. It was so foggy that we stopped and got a hotel room on the way home. The next morning when I heard the horrible news was one of the saddest days of my life.
The keyboardist, Reese Wynans is still performing. Primarily as part of Joe Bonamassa's band. And he is still amazing. A living legend.
Reese is the man. None better.
He is INCREDIBLE. Why else would he be playing for these legends?
My eyes tear up for Stevie when I see him so happy and healthy, done with his demons, the band of brothers still solid with him. If ever anyone has earned and deserves his place as a Legend in music history it is SRV. God bless his soul.
This is why I'm such a fan of Steve Earle. Exorcised his demons snd came back even better. Too bad his kid couldn't do the same...
I had the extreme pleasure of seeing Stevie Ray live!
I was so fortunate to see him live in NYC 1987. I didn't know who he was, I wanted to see Greg Allman who opened for him. Now I'll never forget who he is, the greatest guitar player I've ever seen. RIP, brilliant man. I thoughts that I'd see you again.

Yes,great reaction you appreciate this like we do.🎸👍

The whole band is amazing
Watching you react, your face, your body language, your true honest emotional reaction to the music. AWESOME!!!
Love watching your reactions. This is now one of my favorite videos you've done. Thanks Man!!!
I am in love with Stevie's music....heck I am in love with Stevie! So talented, so accomplished. There are no words...
Legend! They have a statue of him here in Texas! It's in Austin, TX on Town Lake!
this song is one of the best. such a pure jam. Thanks for viewing this Jamel!

I was lucky enough to catch Buddy's show in Tulsa before the lockdowns. GREAT show!
Off topic. My t shirt order was cancelled, not on my end. Any reason why?
Strongly agree about Buddy Guy. Try Champagne and Reefer and Sweet Home Chicago.
Influenced by the Freddie King’s song Just Pickin’
I saw Buddy August 2013 At Ravinia in Highland Park Illinois front row best concert even eclipsing SRV. ! saw Stevie the Saturday night before he died at Alpine Valley and 3 other times
Stevie didn't make faces, his heart pulled his brain to his hands leaving his face free to dance to the music!
Man, I miss SRV. Such a great guitar player. Gone way too soon.
Great reaction! I can tell you can hear SRV by your face, you get it. SRV = THE G.O.A.T.
SRV can even make kids song sound good.. the man is fire
Stevie played with Buddy Guy on occasion, also Albert King and BB King.
I was stationed in FT. Hood Tx. In 85 & 86. SRV was everywhere, fell in love with him. Seemed like he was just starting to get national attention and then he passed away 😢. Enjoy your reactions always. Would love to have a beer with you and your brothers.👍
Yes sir, SRV, The G.O.A.T. right there! Who else could take a nursery rhyme and make it bluesy and funky!
I cry every time I watch him. I was there in 80’s in Austin on 6th Street. We lost him way too soon 😢
Stevie's Bassist, Tommy Shannon, and Drummer, Chris Layton, played with the ARC Angels backing up Charlie Sexton and Doyle Bramhall II. Might be worth a listen. Love what you do, keep up the good work!
They still play with the arc angels... they have been touring for a while. New music I hear is forthcoming. ❤
@@jeffwall3867 Chris was playing with Kenny Wayne Shepperd and I had heard he had retired. If not, looking forward to new Arc Angles.
My all time favorite guitarist. Thank you for reacting!
Jamel, you go man. You're listening to the best of the best. ✌️🎩
The Amalgamator of every great blues lick that ever was, and a good few lines of his very own. One of a kind. Never to be seen again. Blessed be.

The keyboard player is Reese Wynans... Reese currently plays for Joe Bonamassa.
I think my brain just melted and dripped out my ears!!!
Love it! How about that keyboardist?!!! Four great musicians on that stage! ☮️❤️😎
"Any reason to funk out, take it" - SRV... This is another transcendental song where he takes us on our tour is different sounds and temps, and we keep asking that magical mystery bus driver to keep driving. I am waiting until you discover CHANGE IT.

There will never be another STV. Love his music
Love it!! SRV is getting our Friday off to a very cool start☺Thanks Jamal!!🧡
I love Stevie Ray ❤
Also Stevie never had a problem with somebody else taking the spotlight. Yeah a lot of respect for a lot of musicians
The “stank face” is alive and well!! LOL I LOVE IT!! 🤣🤣

SRV Givin' us all a reason to have a lil' StankFace ! 😱 !
... When the reactor just forgets that he's doing a reaction and just has fun! Great to see you enjoy this gem- The band really was COOKIN"!!!
2:26 I think Stevie clicked on some kind of pedal there like the Octavia used by Jimi Hendrix in Come on (Let the good times roll)
can you imagine that as a nursery rhym??
Don't listen to Stevie without, thinking bout My Baby Brother Ted
BIG FAN...RIP To Them
My absolutely favorite version of any nursery ryhyme!
The keyboard player is now with Joe Bonamassa and has been for a while.
Jamel got the cheek cramps from Happy Stank Face ! 😂
SRV ~ 🎸🐐 The goatiest goat in all of goatness
Keep listening to Stevie you're going to have permanent Stank Face. Love your channel
You get Stevie. Also awesome you call out the band. They are phenomenal.
I saw him in 1985 in a small club in New Jersey. It was crazy good. I'll never forget.
One of the best songs I hard in a long time and the band kicked it up a nach playing all the Instruments so great.
Pure guitar Zen. Where would we be without The Blues? And Chuck Berry, and Jimi and Jimmy and Stevie...
I could be wrong, but you're missing the funkiest SRV song ever. "Couldn't Stand the Weather". He played it at this show. But the one you want is Capitol Theatre 1985.

I'd like to see you react to SRV on acoustic guitar, "Life by the Drop".

Mary had a Little Lamb never sounded so good. RIP SRV. 🔥🎸💔
Watch Stevie Ray Vaughan breaks a string! You'll be amazed 👏
How the hell do you turn a nursery rhyme into that?
When I saw the title I thought it must be a play on words!
No, it was no play on words! He flat out blew my mind.
The thought that comes to mind is: Someone said "I got a song you can't get a rise out of!"
Stevie said "Hold my beer!" Wow!
You should do some of the songs he did with his brother Jimmy off of the family style album. White boots, DFW, Tick tock, telephone song

Another great reaction to Steve. You can tell he feels every note in his soul.....
Nice to FINALLY react to this song. Thank you
Jamel + SRV = a stank face party. You can't help but move, I see you. Great reaction as always.
RIP Stevie Ray
I love how seamlessly Reese throws it back to Stevie Ray at around 2:00. That band was tight!
Shout out to Tommy Shannon on bass and Chris Layton on drums. They have been with SRV since the early days. Reese Wynans on keys was added late in the game. Not that it knocks his skill at all.
Graet band behind Steve

Love your shoulder dancing...
Loving these today, Jamel.
Mary had a little lamb is a old Buddy Guy song
My favorite SRV song
SRV is the only man that can take a nursery rhyme and turn it into the blues.
Hey brother I don’t know if you did a reaction to House is a Rockin’.…that’s also a great song as well
So nice listening to this masterpiece and watching you jam out to this and watching your stinkface come out, I love it, thanks Jamal for making my day.

Why does God take the best so early? "If there's a Rock and Roll heaven, you know they have a hell of a band."
I love SRV to the moon. Kenny Wayne Shepperd is carrying on the tradition. Check out the songs on his second album titled Live on.
Stevie was a bad man!
This and the live version from Italy have got to be the best versions of this song ever
Sorry but this was filmed in Austin Texas for a TV show called Austin City limits 1989, just months before his tragic death in August 1990. RIP💔 SRV🎸

SRV ,master of the stratocaster .( and the stank face ).
I know you love Stevie so you must listen to Riviera Paradise with those headphones.
Love him so much! Wish I had been able to listen to him live 😢. Jamel, you know that Reese is caressing those keys for Joe Bonamassa now, right?
We really watched Stevie touch the sun, didn't we?
Fabulous!!!!!!!!
Absolutely sick!
