I want a second. the fact that sewing a corset is not difficult. I am not a super experienced sewing expert, by any means, but I just made my first corset and I'm working on corset number two. It is not hard. I don't know why I had it in my head that this would be difficult. I'm using one of the black snail patterns and it is super easy. If you haven't tried it, try it
As a plus sized person I love this designer didn't just make the pattern bigger, but knew what to alter, so it was comfortable for people with a belly, not just standing but sitting and moving.
Michelle's one comment about needing belly room to prevent the riding up problem when sitting was completely eye-opening. Having just made my first corset I could not figure out why that was happening so thank you so much Michelle and Noelle for letting us have a peek at that fitting session!
Very very helpful. I’ve been on the fence doing the custom pattern but seeing you sew it up and the custom fitting session sold me. Ive made atleast 4 other corsets and I just can’t get them right and comfortable enough to wear at my sit down job. I need it more for slight back support due to chronic back issues. Thanks for sharing your fitting session as well. Super impressed the first pattern fit so well.
Omg I didn’t realize your recorded voice and mine are SO similar, a few times I was like “wait is this my audio” 😂😂😂😂😂 this is so so cool, thank you so much for making this video!
This is really nice. I especially like when you sit down and say that the corset don’t ‘go up’ (you know what I mean) and Michelle says “ it’s because of the extra belly room “. Perfect. Now I know what’s wrong with my corsets. Thank you! ❤
Oh wow is that all!! That’s great! Now me and my brain are going to fight! I’ve gained a bunch of weight and want to get rid of it (or at least some) before a custom fitted anything. Then the other part of me will scream about being able to make it again better fast stronger!! Then I will remind myself that there’s a list and a plan…. Me myself and I argue a lot
See, 'insert the busk sounds' questionable to you...'stitch in the ditch' is the one that gets me X_X. Lovely work! So great when a mock-up is a wearable piece!
Michelle is THE BEST she is a wonderful person to know AND she has amazing patterns and corset making skills. I just made the premade size 8-10 pattern she sells and it was perfect for me ! SO happy you guys got to collaborate and you're sharing my friend's work 😭😭😭
Finally I have viewed a current post so I can introduce myself to you and your historical dress/sewist hive family! I grew up in the SF Bay Area, on the bay side peninsula, Los Altos and Mountain View. I moved from CA in 1980 to Denver and since 1983 I live in Santa Fe, NM. I have been sewing since I was 5, and dressed my dolls in period dresses I created, so I suppose I was destined to become a costume designer from child hood. I have a BFA in Fashion Design and a trade school degree in Fashion design. At that time there was no degree for Clothing Historians.I have been in and out of the SCA since 1974, always seriously involved in the period dress aspect of it. In the past 7-8 years I have followed my Danish/Norwegian heritage and heavily thrown myself into pictorial embroidery of Viking Age artwork from various mediums and place them into and onto my period embroidered clothing. I also do period hoping and History Bounding & love to dress the part with my own creations, representing correctly as possible, of course! I do enjoy your process and the factual presentation of what it takes to do a proper kit, head to toe! Thank you for that, I mean it, from the bottom of my heart! Thanks to you I dug out my pattern drafting sloaper ,re-drafted it to my current shape, then designed some cottage core/Victorian inspired dresses. I have become inspired to design again largely due to You and Costuming Drama!Next is a corset! The one I made in 1976, well it just doesn't.
Even though I have been watching you for a while, I am commenting for the first time because your sponsor is June's journey. I started playing because two of your friends recommended it. Now I love it.
2023 is a train wreck! 😂🤣😂 The corset is awesome. I accidentally lost a ton of weight and now am like right in line with vintage big 3 but I’m still going to her site to check it out. Sunday, I designed, printed and mocked up a knit blouse. Yesterday, I stitched together fabric I purchased from Backroomfinds (and cut out) in late September. I used a ‘60’s pattern from my Nana’s stash. It turned out awesome! Today, I went to work and had the worst class ever. 😂 It’s like a friggin rollercoaster ride up in here...oh it snowed to white out conditions while the kiddos were out on the playground...then it melted and refrozen to cause maximum hazard conditions. LIFE! 🌈🌈🦋🦋
Hello, I liked the editing for this video too. I would have never believed, that making my own corset was possible! I'm a believer, and I'm so excited to give it a try. I'm happy that you support small business too. I never actually introduced myself. My name is Audri, I live inNewEngland, I am a Psychologist, I am an artist, I love historical fashion, and the history of it. I'm passionate about many things, but that basically sums up how I ended up watching you. I keep watching because I appreciate your talent and values. With hope, Audri
Yay! Look at you with the sponsor!!! If I didn't already have June's Journey downloaded, I certainly would have done it now after your enthusiastic spiel.
I love that you did a practical/wearable mock up! And thank you for making the process look Waaaay less intimidating than I had imagined it to be. I looked at her corset deals at least 2 years ago and scared myself out of the attempt! Now I plan to go back and put one back on my To-Do list
I don't sew (would like to but I have my fingers in too many metaphorical pies already) but I have always loved the idea of corsets. My hyperfixation recently has been historical dress and so when I stumbled upon this video after seeing the exact pattern on etsy I was so happy! Couldn't stop smiling through the whole consultation section of this video as well - Michelle is so cool and sweet and I love her making this niche passion accessible! Thanks for putting this whole video together Noelle, I found it fascinating and hope one day I can use it to help inform my sewing adventures. As someone who isn't "regular" sized, seeing creators who are size inclusive is so, so affirming.
Wow Noelle😍that mock-up fitted great from the start! Big shoutout to the excellent pattern maker! I can draw them myself but I do not like to make them 😂😂 but it’s hard to get such a great fit at first fitting. The purple looks great on you 💜
Hi Noelle. I just built my first ever corset by taking a class. The class cost covered all the materials. There were six of us and we all achieved gorgeous results. I did my course with NZCorestry. Amy was a very good teacher and I am so very pleased with my results. I wore my corset all day and it just felt like a hug. Driving was a little more difficult than usual but no other tasks were. I would like to make one in denim to wear as a fashion layer.
Hi Noelle, I feel so encouraged to get started on my own corset! I have to thank COVID lockdowns for introducing me to the costuming world. I've been following you for a while now - all the way from Sydney Australia - via Bernadette Banner and Abby Cox. Thanks so much for your down to earth style and easy delivery. Good luck with the ball gown! I'll be dropping in to see how you're going.
Hi Noelle. I've been a subscriber for about a year. I'm a quilter and occasional bag maker, not into garment sewing at all. But I'm fascinated by historical garment construction techniques. I'm a better sewist because I watch your channel. Your binding method for the bottom, fold over and blind stitch in the ditch, is common for quilt bindings. Love that the mock-up is a keeper. 💚
@@Costuming_Drama bags are a great mini project - relative to the bigger quilt/costume projects that are marathon activities, bags can be completed in only 3-5 hours over a weekend. My first bag make was from Sara Lawson @ SewSweetness, called the Superbloom Tote. It was mostly beginner friendly, but since you already have the experience sewing through lots of layers, it will be old hat for you. Her how-tos are a must 😁
This corset looks amazing and I love it! And that you told the truth about the corset is not a terrible thing to make. Straight seams and a touch of math!! I told my students this all the time!
Oh! I love your corset! Girls of a creation clothing number should have comfortable foundation garments that give them confidence! I would know-I am one!
I'm impressed there is no wrinkles or creases on your first version. Beautiful job. I love her underbust corset. I need to get the lead out and make my underbust corset.
This felt really good to watch. Not only is that corset really cool and pretty (and I like the colour!) and I learned stuff while watching, I also feel really grateful for you talking positive about giving your belly room in a corset. I needed to hear that. Today I'm trying to take it slow as I am having an low-energy week. Really hard to not overexcite myself and then crash. But now I have been sitting here just mending a skirt lining by hand for almost an hour and that felt good.
I was inspired by this message a year or two ago and the very first historical thing I made was long line Regency stays from Red threaded. I love them even the mock up is awesome! I have more trouble with buttonholes and sleeves that I have ever had with corsetry! Thanks again, Noelle!
Hi. I’m Stephanie and love to make costumes and clothing. I am all self taught and love watching others sewing clothing on UA-cam. Your video popped up as a suggestion for me and I am so glad it did!
Noelle, you're alwaus such good company. Not having the best day healthwise today and its been wonderful to sit here and be inspired by your pep talk and fun presentation style. Thanks heaps for this. Ive been contemplating a corded corset for a couple of years now. Maybe 2023 might be the year? You've made it far less scary! I'm currently reading Jacki French - Miss Lily's Lovely Ladies. Also listening to podcasts of Just A Minute with Sue Perkins from BBC 4; very clever humour!
I'm making my third one of these, they improve each time. You can definitely improve the fit by making your first one in muslin, which I did. I've made two in silk and they are gorgeous. Super fun to play with beautiful laces. I'm moving on to the Scoop stay now.
Thank you for making corsets seem less intimidating! I listened to this while I was cutting panels to insulate my garage door. The idea is to corral the "crafts" - painting, sewing, & more - into the garage and out of my tiny bedroom. Thanks for entertaining me while I was wrestling with styrofoam!
This Video encouraged me so much to make my own corset! You are so full of positive energy and moreover so good in explaining everything! Thank you, Dear❤
This was SO encouraging! I've got Michelle's basic pattern and will be the first 'real' corset I've ever made, and the process has felt rather scary to get started. Between Michelle's video and yours, it feels a lot more doable and straightforward now, and I'm feeling more excited than scared 😀
Girlfriend! I’m so excited about this video🤣. That was absolutely brilliant to see it come together so beautifully in the mock up! When I’m ready to make a corset or stays I’m absolutely 100%for sure going to get my pattern from her❤. The price is reasonable considering that my time and comfort have value and her skills are top notch❤
Currently I am listening to some of the Miss Marple mystery series here through UA-cam. I am knitting two birthday sweaters, because February is my birthday month.
What a beautiful result, and such a great service Michelle is providing. I really hear you on not particularly wanting a ballgown, took me ages to get inspired to design mine for the Bath Ball, I would rather have dressed as a Victorian gent but didn’t have anything suitable, but that inspired me to make a bodice based on a tailcoat (also I gave myself the character of being the Madame of a Parisian house of pleasure) and was happy in the end! X
I started out sewing corsets too! Have loved them ever since and even after doing a wide range of different historical projects I still return to them so often.
Get thee to a library! They have free audiobooks :) Then you can use audible for the books the library doesn’t have. I’ll recommend Julie Anne Lindsay and all her other pen names, especially Bree Baker, if you like cute, fluffy “it will end well” books. Thanks for the corset cheerleading. I’m a bit intimidated by making a corset and doing cording, so that pep talk was really helpful!
This is the cheerleading I needed. I want to make a corset and I have had my eye on that silhouette for a while. So, I think I'm going to plan this as a project for this year. 😊💜
I cut my mock up out January 2022 and I sewed in the busk. And then I panicked and hid it under the sofa. But I agree. Great cheerleading going on here.
Depending on where you live, and what time of year, you may have 2 postal runs and they aren't done by the same person. Where I am, envelope mail/small packages that fit in the box are delivered between 10-11am but packages come between 7-9pm most of the year. Our daytime mail person is a guy in his 40s and our evening delivery is a team. But totally agree the postal system needs an overhaul to be kinder to everyone. And I will not excuse your Cheshire cat pants because they're awesome. So is the color of the mock up... Such a pretty blurple. And watching you cross things off is always SO SATISFYING. It's like dopamine by proxy. Oh! A new narrator to check out. I didn't think anyone else was like me but I'm picky about narrators and will often choose books because of the narrator. I've been getting into cozy fantasy lately. Legends and Lattes has me so eager to read that I put down my knitting. 😱 Totally followed Clockwork Faerie! I think the only way I'll ever be able to have a comfortable corset is if I use a service like hers. Being plus sized with a very short waist means no "over the counter" pattern will ever fit right.
Hello Noelle! Happy March! That 'mockup' turned out amazing! It looks so good on you! As someone who has never made a corset and was hoping to some time this year this is a wonderful tutorial, thank you so much! I'm super late to the party but I'm launching into the Marvel TV shows, and I'm reading How to Make Mead Like a Viking by Jereme Zimmerman. I cut into some lovely linen tweed to make the 18th Century Men's Shirt pattern by Burnley and Trowbridge because I feel the overwhelming need to practice some basics. Happy Sewing and hopefully the storms haven't been too much!
You came up on my feed. I am working at sewing. I have all kinds of ideas, just need the skill to execute them, which will come with practice. I hope. I love watching you making this corset. At some point, I want to do one, but I am terrified to make the attempt. Thank you for taking the time to do this video. Have a very happy day.
Hello. I’m not new, just don’t comment much. I loved this corset. Finding Michelle’s customization options is amazing. I love sewing, quilting and weaving and include them in my historical impressions. Thanks for all you do.
Love the mock-up and I agree, the fitting terrifies me and the sewing is fairly straightforward. Now I just need to wait for one of these to be available for men!😄
I love your videos! I have a suggestion for when you need to file your bones... a dust box. Basically, get a cheap plastic tote, turn it on its side, cut a hole at the center for a shop-vac hose, and use your dremmel inside the tote. Presto! No more dusty mess. I'm new to sewing and desperately want to make a corset, but my body type is "outside normal sizing". I'm so glad you found this pattern. I'm definitely going to order it.
Hi Noelle, I don't know if I have introduced myself to you, Berndette, Abby, Nicole, ... I'm an almost retired lady in a rural Illinois area. I taught Latin in Florida's schools. My degrees are Latin and Fine Art. I usually was given theater for extra-curricular activities. Luckilly I took a lot of theater courses while getting my art degree. Currently, I am a substitute teacher and an insane artist. My medium is photography but I do paint and write poetry as well. I watch you guys because it has been my plan to wear turn of the last century clothing in my retired years. I don't think I will go whole hog on everything ya'll do but you never know. It's just nice to find "family" out there. I got into this idea for my retirement clothing from working at Disney World at 18? and had to wear a Crystal Palace dress in Florida's heat. It was better than wearing pants! I once had a professor tell me I was excentric because of my two degrees. I like that as a description and plan to become such after retirement - though I may already be heading there - lol! So, wearing long skirts and pirate shirts will seem that way to this area I am currently at. Lol! Oh, I grew up in the 1960's and 70's and was in college through most of the 80's. So, I can be a source who lived through it if ever needed for research. And now for my personal motto which explains a lot: Why be normal, when that is a "C". Be an "A" or a "B"!
the mock up is beautiful and a keeper. (lol, i'd love to see you make a ball gown that riffs off of your beloved t shirts....not sure what that would look like, but i bet it would be interesting)
I've been eyeing Michelle's corset for months and someday I am going to go get her pattern. At the moment I don't feel I can do that yet, because .... too many unfinished projects. 😅 I want to finish at least some, before starting a new project. I don't know why I can't finish sometimes. Oh well. Anyway, I'll make sure to hit up your video once again, whenever I get to actually making a pretty housemaid corset! You are very encouraging and it looks like it's not that hard to make. 😁😁😁
I love your corset!! I can believe how well it turned out just from the original pattern!!! Currently making a pageant gown for my drag daughter, who also happens to be named Noelle :) first time making an evening gown of this caliber, so fairly nervous and intimidated. She's coming for a final fitting tonight and watching your videos always calm me during stressful sewing projects. Can't wait to see what you create next!!!
I started making a Laughing Moon corset over a year ago and it is now in my UFO pile. I got half of it done and then started having second thoughts about the construction method I was using. I even made a video about making the first half of it. A lot of stuff was happening in my life then, and now I just would rather scrap the whole thing. This corset seems like a better pattern and I think I'd feel better about making one. I also have a pair of stays that never made it out of the mock-up stage. This looked great on you. Plus I love purple. Though I have to say that in the video it didn't look as vibrant a purple as your Instagram post. Probably just my computer.
You can make a ball gown with quiet elegance - not having all the bells and whistles that some need - but beautiful in it own right - I think a nice emerald green would be beautiful on you
Awesome video! Really enjoyed seeing your process and learning about Michelle’s patterns and such bc I’ve wanted to make a pretty housemaid for AGES! Small note of feedback is that I really struggled to hear this video and found it very difficult to follow unless I had captions on, which isn’t an issue I usually have on your channel. But I was very grateful you have captions on for accessibility 💜 thanks for sharing your sewing with us!
I think this corset is next on my corset list. First I want to fix up the one I've already made because it's a bit big (I had no idea how much I'd squish down in an actual corset when I patterned it out) and the side front bones are a bit long and encounter my thighs when I sit down lol. Right now I'm adding the trim and closures on my winter pj chemise and drawers, felling a tunic, and embroidering some wool mitts before I sew them up! I also still need to add the binding on the table runners I'm making for my mom
Oh my God! Thank you for showing me the sandwich method, I'm so excited to try this now..I've been doing the seams wrong all this time. I'll be referring to your video as I sew. Thanks again!
First time in the comments but I’ve followed the channel for a long while. Know how to sew clothes but haven’t been doing it a lot and definitely not lately. Love this option to get a custom made pattern. Have been curious to make a corset but have been scared of trying to fit it myself. This has given me food for thought. Thx ❤
Noelle, I've finally caught the sewing bug. Super newb (just making 2-D things, but soon moving on to my first garment). This gives me encouragement that maybe one day, I too can make a corset :)
I am so excited to learn about this corset and custom pattern. I am so intimidated by trying to fit a corset pattern to myself but I've really wanted to make one. I'm not that intimidated by sewing one, just trying to get one to fit me right. So I just need to get the measurements and get that pattern. That corset looks great on you and fits really well.
I've actually been wanting a Pretty Housemaid corset for my collection. ❤ I'm so glad you shared Michelle's info! ❤I didn't realize she was doing custom sizing!!! My experience with the front lacing stays from Redthreaded was great, so I'm looking forward to the straight lines on this nice corset. Honestly, I was intimidated by the cording but you made it look so easy! 😊 I'm excited to see what sort of ballgown you come up with. I'm in a very 1860s mood of late, so trying to consider future projects in that era whilst still trying to (slowly) work on my 1770s/1780s pieces. 🤷♀
I love Molly Harper too! Thank heaven for Kindle, or I'd have to buy another bookcase! I have long since run out of room to allow for another bookcase. Do you like reading series? Audrey Faye "Alpha" series is excellent. R. J. Blain's "Romantic Comedy With a Body Count" is very good too!
Beautiful corset! I'm very encouraged to make one myself one of these days. I want to thank you for being so supportive a few months ago when I was stressing over a project. I've been sewing for a trans woman whose body shape doesn't match patterns, so it's been a matter of learning alteration skills I've seen but never used. That project turned out great and she's very happy with it! Next up, my husband got us tickets to go to a Celtic Ren Faire, so I'm making something for that. Starting with a leine (shift with humongous sleeves), then see what else I have time for. I figure if I have time for nothing else I can wear it with a skirt and a shawl and call it good. (I mean, it's Ren Faire. My husband will be in jeans and a t-shirt.)
I’ve been watching your videos for a bit now and just found this. I love this corset, oddly enough I watched Michelle’s video of this also. I am a beginner and want to get a little more experience before I start this corset. I am similar in size to you which is great to have someone to watch make beautiful projects!
Since my first attempt at making a corset turned into a hot-mess, I saw this video and just purchased the pattern AND a fitting. I AM going to get a corset made and have it fit right!!
I want a second. the fact that sewing a corset is not difficult. I am not a super experienced sewing expert, by any means, but I just made my first corset and I'm working on corset number two. We both have a similar way of talking, I think! Yay!! Thank you for making me an awesome corset pattern!
that underbust corset looked amazing on you
I had to put my project down and give the screen my full attention for the Zoom fitting, because otherwise I couldn't tell who was speaking 😂
This is really nice. I especially like when you sit down and say that the corset don’t ‘go up’ (you know what I mean) and Michelle says “ it’s because of the extra belly room “.
Perfect. Now I know what’s wrong with my corsets. Thank you! ❤
Here to help!
And I'm happy and appreciate it . 😊
A custom to order pattern for $60 and $20 fitting where she makes the adjustments for you??? That is AWESOME.
IT REALLY IS.
Oh wow is that all!! That’s great! Now me and my brain are going to fight! I’ve gained a bunch of weight and want to get rid of it (or at least some) before a custom fitted anything. @Robin The Parttime Sewer I have the exact same issue ! I am at my heaviest but loving how this mock up looks ! And total newbie sewist, to boot.....
100% the scariest idea of making a corset is fitting it. Your mock up is gorgeous (can’t believe there’s a nicer one coming).
Oh for sure! That’s why I just get help! The best $20 I have spent in a long time!
Loved when you said "downstairs" about the comments below. It kinda made this cozy community even cozier!
💖💖💖
That moment when I am so early that I am not sure wether or not this video was supposed to be watchable now or not xD
Hahahaha indeed it is! (and thank you!)
Glad to see you can create a descent corset that you want to keep it as a corset and not as a mockup
See, 'insert the busk sounds' questionable to you...'stitch in the ditch' is the one that gets me X_X. Lovely work! So great when a mock-up is a wearable piece!

Ah that’s awesome!!
I'm almost finished with my first costume of my 2024 Etsy customer costume season.🎉
I have been playing June's Journey for about 5 years. Good Luck!

YES!! You can do it!
Holy crap! That pattern is so affordable, especially with the included second pattern adjustment with fitting!! Definitely adding this to my list!
It really is!
I've watched a few and loved this one with the PURPLE.

It’s string theory in action! 😂

You're really such a talent. I can't imagine myself doing that. It takes patience and nimble fingers brains and talent. Brava!
Thank you very much!
OMG, I have those Cheshire PJ pants. I LOVE them, and their POCKETS.
Wow!!! Absolutly perfect!!! Congratulations!!!
Thanks
Hi Noelle, I feel so encouraged to get started on my own corset! I have to thank COVID lockdowns for introducing me to the costuming world. I've been following you for a while now - all the way from Sydney Australia - via Bernadette Banner and Abby Cox. Thanks so much for your down to earth style and easy delivery. Good luck with the ball gown! I'll be dropping in to see how you're going.
Oh yay!
That just looks so comfy. I'd happily wear your mock up - gives you room to swell if you get hot and you're moving around!
Space for tacos is critical!
Hi! Nice to meet you!! Oooo I want to learn to make bags!!
Her how-tos are a must 😁
Thank you for the recomendation!
lovely project , beautiful purple fabric choice, You rocked it as always
Thank you so much!
This corset looks amazing and I love it! And that you told the truth about the corset is not a terrible thing to make. Straight seams and a touch of math!! I told my students this all the time!
WOW!! I just realized we have very similar dimensions. You look fabulous, and now make me feel a bit better about myself. You are a DOLL!!
Wonderful! We are always our own worst enemy when it comes to the mirror!
Oh! I love your corset! Girls of a creation clothing number should have comfortable foundation garments that give them confidence! I would know-I am one!
I'm impressed there is no wrinkles or creases on your first version. Beautiful job. I love her underbust corset. I need to get the lead out and make my underbust corset.
She’s magical!
Not me playing June’s Journey as you’re boosting it
🎉🎉🎉
This felt really good to watch. Not only is that corset really cool and pretty (and I like the colour!) and I learned stuff while watching, I also feel really grateful for you talking positive about giving your belly room in a corset. I needed to hear that.
Today I'm trying to take it slow as I am having an low-energy week. Really hard to not overexcite myself and then crash. But now I have been sitting here just mending a skirt lining by hand for almost an hour and that felt good.
Oh I’m so glad! And always make room for tacos! 💖
totally agree on the Molly Harper books. I like this corset, will ponder!
I’m so proud of you. It and you look beautiful. You’re an inspiration.
💖
you really sold the choice of the custom pattern well, thank you. That's on my list.
Hahahah I hope you love it!
I love that you cheerlead us through our corset issues!
😁
Happy to help! 💖💖
I was inspired by this message a year or two ago and the very first historical thing I made was long line Regency stays from Red threaded. I love them even the mock up is awesome! I have more trouble with buttonholes and sleeves that I have ever had with corsetry! Thanks again, Noelle!
This was super helpful. I’ve been looking at this corset for a little while and found this video this morning. Definitely making this! Thanks Noelle!
honestly really love the purple corset its so pretty I'm glad its become a wearable mockup!
Thanks!!
Hi. I’m Stephanie and love to make costumes and clothing. I am all self taught and love watching others sewing clothing on UA-cam. Your video popped up as a suggestion for me and I am so glad it did!
Hi! Nice to meet you!
The music is just delightful. I also cut out taped-together pattern pieces and the mood was *chef's kiss*
Hahahah glad you liked it!
I adore Molly Harper! I've read all of her books!
Oh I’m so sorry to hear that you aren’t feeling well! How it passes quickly!!
@@Costuming_Drama thanks, Noelle. Its a chronic thing. Some days are better than others. Your videos always help!
Oh that sounds great! I hope the insulating goes smoothly!
Wonderful! You can do it!
I am feeling the same way! Go encouragers!
Awesome! She’s so great to work with too! She answered all my questions as I went!
Noelle, this corset fits you perfectly and is very flattering! Love that smile on your face...beautiful.
xoxo's Sandie
Oh thank you!
WHOA! Your "mock up" looks incredible!! Love the colour, too :D
Oh thank you!
I started out sewing corsets too! Have loved them ever since and even after doing a wide range of different historical projects I still return to them so often.
Great job showing the process! Thank you! Thank you, also, for your mention of the postmaster general.
I love checking out audio books through the library. I use the Libby app. Free!!!!
Oh yes I have that! I just also should listen to the books I already paid for!
Slow and steady, just follow the instructions :)
Wonderful! You’ve got this!
Noelle is a great motivator. Like a friend whispering in your ear "you got this" 😊"do the thing"
I cut my mock up out January 2022 and I sewed in the busk. And then I panicked and hid it under the sofa. But I agree. Great cheerleading going on here.
I love that this pattern has plenty of belly room, because that's an issue I always run into with corsets. There's never enough room for my belly!
Yay! I can’t remember if I’ve seen you have a sponsor before. I’m so happy for you. And the corset came out amazing. Thank you for sharing ❤
Awww thanks! It’s been a very long time since I’ve had one!
That was AMAZING!! WOW!! LOVED the video. So good. 👍🏽😃
Thanks so much!!
Totally followed Clockwork Faerie! I think the only way I'll ever be able to have a comfortable corset is if I use a service like hers. Being plus sized with a very short waist means no "over the counter" pattern will ever fit right.
Thanks for the run down on the postal stuff! And yeah, totally recommend Michelle! Just give her all of your specifics!
MEAD MAKING! YUM!
Don’t be terrified! It’s just a bunch of straight lines!!
Hello. I’m not new, just don’t comment much. I loved this corset. Finding Michelle’s customization options is amazing. I love sewing, quilting and weaving and include them in my historical impressions. Thanks for all you do.
Hi! Nice to meet you!!
Love the mock-up and I agree, the fitting terrifies me and the sewing is fairly straightforward. Now I just need to wait for one of these to be available for men!😄
Oh she does custom stuff so just hit her up!
My wallet: *sweating nervously*
She's SUPER affordable!
Great idea!!
Honestly I love that purple and I think the movkup ended up super pretty
Thank you!!
Hello!! Lovely to meet you!! 💖
What a beautiful corset! Also having an expert for a fitting is amazing!
And congratulations on the sponsorship, so exciting! ☺️
Thanks so much! 😊 💖💖
Love how the mock-up fit you so well and the color, chef’s kiss.
Oh thank you!
I agree with the basting before stitching in the ditch, I always miss usually.
the mock up is beautiful and a keeper. (lol, i'd love to see you make a ball gown that riffs off of your beloved t shirts....not sure what that would look like, but i bet it would be interesting)
Oh I would too! Unfortunately, we already have a prompt….
Sending you happy finishing stuff energy!
Oh awesome! Say hi to Noelle from Noelle!
This wearable mock-up looks amazing! I look forward to seeing the one you make in fancier fabric.
Thank you! 😊
Yeah I’d advise making this over that one!
As someone with with very non-standard proportions (torso for daaaaaaays) this sounds like a great option!
I am now filled with confidence.
Yay!!
wow! those are great! that looks so professional!
You can make a ball gown with quiet elegance - not having all the bells and whistles that some need - but beautiful in it own right - I think a nice emerald green would be beautiful on you
I am pondering that very color!
Oh, probably not! There are so many different seaming methods!! There’s never one right way!
Thx ❤
Hi! Lovely to meet you! 💖
Noelle, I've finally caught the sewing bug. Super newb (just making 2-D things, but soon moving on to my first garment). This gives me encouragement that maybe one day, I too can make a corset :)
You can make a corset way sooner than you think! They just take a long time but they aren’t actually hard.
I HAVE THIS PATTERN! I have not made it yet so this is SO exciting. Her video is really good too.
Oh the cording is so easy!! You kind of can’t mess it up!
Oh a Celtic ren faire sounds super fun!!
I’ve been watching your videos for a bit now and just found this. I love this corset, oddly enough I watched Michelle’s video of this also. I am a beginner and want to get a little more experience before I start this corset. I am similar in size to you which is great to have someone to watch make beautiful projects!
Oh thank you!
This is amazing and it is making me itch to make my first stays (wrong century, right feeling!). Only so I can then move on to make ALL the corsets!
Since my first attempt at making a corset turned into a hot-mess, I saw this video and just purchased the pattern AND a fitting. I AM going to get a corset made and have it fit right!!
You’ve got this!!
lovely video as always
Smashing video thank you
