Dear Hummer Klein, I'm making a memory wire bracelet right now, using silver - plated wire, blue and lavender - purple beads - a mix of mainly Czech/Indian glass beads, Tibetan silver spacer beads, and a scattering of crystal and pearl beads in blue and lavender - purple. Because I dont have a bead board yet, I use a big piece of white felt to lay out my design. Also, I have a roll of Opelin strechy nylon line which is great for threading your beads onto once you have decided on your design for each 8 inches of your memory wire bracelet. You just cut about 10 inches or so of your nylon (or fishing line works just as well) and tie a couple of knots in it, and then thread on the 8 inches of beads you've decided on, and then make a couple of knots on the other end, or tie the two ends together. This way you have your beads ready for when you want to make a bracelet even if you dont have a bead board, or if you've run out of memory wire. 🙂👋❤❤❤🇦🇺
Really like how it looks. All the planning was worth it! I've only done a few and I used a few bead links instead of a beautiful charm. Memory wire bracelets are a good way to use up some "bead soup"!
So glad I found you today. I have a ton of beads, bought memory wire last week to start making bracelets but didn't know where to start. Now I do thanks to you. Awesome video.
This video is a year ago but still has such good tips. Love the color combo and this is a good way of using up beads and making multiple designs in one piece. Bought some memory wire for the most recent memory wire earrings.
I love this Gina...and it’s perfect timing. A coworker asked me to make bracelets for her Breast Cancer walk team (walking for her sister in law) and with some extra beads I made a memory wire bracelet for myself. I bought the wire years....many years...ago and the diameter is tiny. I just ordered what you have as it is about 1/2” larger. I’m very excited! I made stretch bracelets for the team due to the high number needed but will make some wraps for others. That’s my donation!
Love this video. It popped up and I thought.....let me see what Gina was doing 3 years ago! Just beautiful. I have so many small beads I can use with my memory wire. Like the planning aspect. I never do....it's my own disorganization. It was very helpful to see how you set it up. Gorgeous bracelet.
I love memory wire bracelets. Love how you made each turn look like a different bangle! I glue a seed bead into the end loop to give it a little extra security.
thank you for the tip of the 8 inches per 'round' ... i find too many times i am 'measure-challenged' and this will definitely help. Love the colors in this bracelet! The star fish was an excellent touch!
Great tutorial. Love the blues and various beads. Now I must find my stash and get back to making some bracelets! Thank you too for all the little tips.

@@aidamelendez7775 Hi there. If you have followed me from my humble beginnings last year here on UA-cam, where I make videos from my very limited free time for all here to enjoy and benefit from, you would understand that I have said multiple times "I am not an expert." I started from nothing, and am self-taught. I didn't, and still don't know anyone in my personal life who beads. I purchased my materials, and learned on my own before youtube was even a thing. You have your belief system about needing to have everything before you should do something, and I have mine; which is, you can and should make due with what you have. Hi Marcia, memory wire is a great project for less experienced beaders. I think you'd probably like them! They work up pretty fast once the planning part is done. Thanks for watching!
I have been so busy with other things that I have neglected my jewelry making. Hope to get back to that in the new year. I am accumulating a lot of beads from these jewelry bags and jars that are just begging to be used. Lol!
Tfs The colors are so pretty! I’m new to your channel and new to beading! I have made a few chunky charms. I made them for all of my closest friends and family. They loved them. Hey Gina I enjoyed that, love the blue. I love working with memory wire I made earrings, bracelets, necklaces, tried to make rings I have the ring memory wire need to get some bead ends and try again, fun stuff to work with. There is pliers called memory "looping pliers" on the market too
@@ORCHIDandOPAL I think they have straight, rather than tapered, ends (similar to bail making pliers), and are made more robustly than standard round nosed pliers. They might also be hardened, like the memory wire cutters.
Love the stars and clams---nice touch!! (Hmmmm, I have some of those clam beads somewhere...) And, WOW!, congrats on the 2K sub milestone! Since I don't have proper memory wire shears, I use an old, cheap, beat up pair of cutters...then have to file down the rough edges. The hardened, tempered steel of memory wire will absolutely ruin regular cutters (that's how my cutters got beat up in the first place). You really do need special cutters made of hardened steel (harder than the memory wire) to work with the stuff effectively.
Thanks, Pat! I have been waiting for an opportunity to use the clam beads, and they jumped out at me for this project. :) My wire cutters that I have been using for memory wire are pretty beat up as well; proper cutters are definitely on my list of things to get in the future. Thanks for watching!

I have a question. If you are using 6 loops of the memory wire you would have to set up 6 rows of beads correct. I think you said you were setting them up for 7 or 8 inches? So you would need to do 14 or 16 inches of each. Is that correct or am I confusing myself?
Sorry I bothered you, I watched the video and saw that you had the beads set up on both side. I should pay more attention the first time.
No worries at all, Doreen! Did your question get answered? I don't mind if you need some extra clarification. Hope you have a great day!
Great tutorial! What gauge memory wire do you use for your bracelets?
Thanks! It's about 23g.
You have AWESOME! videos. Can I ask where you get your gems and beads from?
Thanks so much, Carol! I actually receive most of my beads from multiple bead and jewelry making subscriptions that I share here on the channel each month. I'm glad you found me!
@@ORCHIDandOPAL are the beads from the subscriptions genuine stones or plastic or created to look real? Which I really don't mind to mix beads that aren't genuine with genuine stones as it can get quite expensive sometimes.
@@carolcain1538 Hi Carol, that's a good question. I very rarely use acrylic beads. The ones I receive are mostly all glass, or stone.
