    Was your bike running? I couldn't hear anything? Thanks Toaster! Carbon is beautiful! Do they sell a single can version? Would get one if they did or do you prefer the dual? I hate imperial sizes to. Like why?!?! Death to all DB killers....that sounds weird. A clamp that fits, stop it no fun in that. Well done getting that clamp to work. Even with the baffles in it sounds SO MUCH better. Wow, no baffles sounds AMAZING, yes stick with that. To much carbon is not good, a bit here and a bit there, I want mostly color on my fairings.

      Hahaha they built the perfect ninja bike. They do sell a single can version but not for my headers, and the Gen02 single can headers don't fit, I like the dual exhaust look anyway :) I have no idea metric is so much easier. Hahaha, let the war begin.

    "Just use the metric system!" Yes. All of this. The US Customary System (slightly different than Imperial) is now pegged to Metric and a lot of manufacturing works in Metric but the results are US Customary. It is the dumbest thing ever but then look at this country and dumb is just the way we appear to want to do things 🤦🏽‍♂️

    Ha! I thought the exhaust was made by Black Widow Exhausts, a company based here in America, and I was smugly thinking it was payback for making us Americans double our tool set size to accomodate metrics, but it's a different Black Widow company based in the UK, so using the Imperial bolts IS pretty bizarre.

    • @TheGorillaBiker

    Yes I do like them. Would I want them, no. I am an old man. Double skinned chromium plate. You have a 1000 cc 4 cylinder and you worry about saving a few kgs. I miss big chrome exhausts. Carbon fibre is the thing of the moment certainly. I will just have to wait for things to go full circle. Also as a footnote I have never been one for fitting noisier exhausts. Good instruction video. Thanks Toaster.

    watched a bit of this today while having 5 mins of skiving on my course :P
    if i remember right you can pretty much use metric spanners ie 3/8ths is 10 mil, 1/2 is 13mil, i think their is a slight difference and their not exact matches but pretty close if i remember right, either way i used to use 13mm and 1/2 sockets to do the same job and the same with 3/8ths and 10mm... lots of those two sizes on a lot of old vehicles.
    id gladly use imperial measurements if it banished the covid... the only time they get on my nerves is when theirs a huge mix and match for no reason, ive had a few landies that were a mix match of metric and imperial nuts and bolts.
    carbon in moderation for me, too much of it and it looks try hard tacky, not saying its poop though just wouldnt be my style to have a ton of it... atleast bare carbon... painted wouldnt be too bad as you get the benefit of it without looking like your bikes wrapped in carbon bondage gear :P

    Hey man great vid, my Black widow was delivered today! I was wondering your thoughts on the exhaust paste that comes with it, I’ve seen a couple of reviews saying to avoid the paste and seal it with some silicone RTV.
    Did you have any problems with the paste?

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  3 роки тому

      Nice, which one did you get? It hasn't failed me yet and it's been on there about 2k miles at this point! Silicone RTV would be better though if you could get your hands on it :)

      @@TheGorillaBiker Thanks for the reply man, I bought the standard stainless one 400mm in black end can only.
      I'ts going on a 2020 Sv650, I had the same length SP Engineering on my old Sv and it sounded great but those exhausts are really expensive now so I went with the black Widow for £135! I've ordered some RTV from ebay but it won't be here until Tuesday but I really wanna get it fitted today, I think i'll wait until Tuesday if you think the RTV would be better.

      Kept sounding sweet too, yes they have, they've been on there for about 14,000/15,000 miles now or about 23,000km. Wearing really well in all weathers!! Only one dirty chip from a stone but that's not the cans fault :)

    I'm considering these for my CBF1000, i slightly prefer the look of the 300mm cans (stainless with carbon tips), but do you think they will be significantly louder than the 400mm, i'm aiming for something that sounds fruitier than stock, but not ear bleeding. Also how was the fueling after fitting the new cans, any flat spots? If yours suffered the flat spot between 2500 and 3000rpm with stock cans, did the new ones help with that? Cheers

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  3 роки тому +1

      They shouldnt be crazy louder! They'll be louder but if you look on the website they have noise level graphs from what I remember so you could have a look there :) The 400mm are perfect for me loud wise with no baffles so you could always try baffles in too :)
      No nothing noticeable, if anything it improved the power curve a bit. I had a weird hitch at about 5k that seems to be gone. That could be my imagination tho.

      @@TheGorillaBiker I got an email from Black Widow today, and they also said they are in the process of producing a mini baffle that fits in the can, but at the link pipe end, which may be useful, due to go to market in 6-8 weeks.

    Nice upgrade. You would think a product produced in the UK would use metric hardware. I'm curious as to if removing the db killers have any effect on the back pressure for the engines performance or does the engines electronic monitoring adjust automatically for the new system? Thanks Toaster.

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  4 роки тому +1

      It is indeed :) Haha it had me stumped for about 10 minutes 😂😂 No not with a modern EFI system the base map will account for it. Now if you free the system up too much by adding a different air filter etc you may find it struggles but not just an exhaust :)
