I think for Tropic Woods, you can get out of touching the grass by stepping a little away from the boss. This leaves you to not be sent back as far, despite how it might sound at first.

Doing the thing with dragon fire was good. However, the hallway does eventually 'end', with, if I remember correctly, a non grass patch(es). So, the only thing you'd have to worry about is dodging the boss. And Storm Tornado would have been a good choice as well, especially considering you can further upgrade your abilities to do more damage. Even a lvl 1 nado could do max damage if upgraded. It would just require a lot of collosieum visits since the challenge roads do eventually run out.
6:15 actually here there's a skip outside of the hammer jump, if you found a way to jump onto the tree you could climb it all the way up, then by flying towards the camera and dashing with fire the invisible wall glitches and Kirby gets to swim in a single square-wide zone in front of the arena

I personally think that when going through doors or ending mouthful modes and it immediately puts you on grass shouldn't count but still this was extremely entertaining
Ice is op. When you walk with it it creates ice underneath your feet. So its not touching grass, the onebproblem is it still wont allow you to avoid grass after cutscenes.
"Drill is terrible for dealing damage" Just make circles my friend. I kid you not, the shockwave you get from doing a really big circle is pretty much as strong as a fully charged hammer flip

11:04 Drill is pretty good for damage if you create earthquakes by going in circles. You just need to time it right.
