Stihl km131r
shindaiwa t262
Thanks bro 👍
Shindaiwa t262 more comfortable than echo
Big fan of the Stihl only have the Kobi system so I does take a bit longer to switch between attachments but I’ve been thinking about trying the SRM 225 by echo
Sthil FS 131R has worked wonders. It’s extremely well balanced and cuts clean at a quick pace. I feel like an artist painting a picture when I’m in the zone.
That’s what I use for daily an FS131, But I recently bought an Echo SRM 3020 thinking it was going to be stronger but it’s not. The 3020 is stronger the FS111 but is not stronger than the FS131. Now I keep my FS131 as daily and the 3020 as spare.
@@K3NetworkZ06the 3020T is what you need spec wise stihl is just 6ccs over the echo but the cutting swath is 20 inch
@@jlara939 I know, I own both FS131 & SRM3020 but for daily I prefer the Sthil with .095” line. However for heavy duty and extremely overgrown yards I use the Echo with .105” line.
@@K3NetworkZ06 true because the 3020T with string and full tank of gas using it for more then 7 hours of the day you will feel the fatigue on the last yard
I have the FS131 decent trimmer I took the baffle screen off more power but am looking for something lighter these days
Before I met my husband I had no idea there was such a big difference in trimmers. I would get one from a box store, use it for a year or two and have to buy a new one. My husband and his crew use trimmers more in a week than I did in a whole year! His go-to is the Stihl, FS94's and FS91's with speed heads, and I have been amazed how well they hold up for what they are put through. He likes them for their dependability and performance, and I can now say from personal experience that they are easy to maintain and repair. They work almost as hard as my husband does!
Good luck to everyone who enters!
Hey does he run them without a guard ?? I’m done with echo looking for something better
I’m 18 years old and I love the Stihl fs 91 use them everyday the whole day. Work great on Bermuda grass and St. Augustine grass down in the Dallas Texas area. Amazing option for someone like myself starting their own business.
I am a Husqvarna fan. I run the 525l everyday. Very solid, plenty of power, and light enough to be able to use all day.
I have Husqvarna edger and blower and hate them, I have an enclosed trailer and they get "vapor locked". The dealer told me to keep them in the bed of my truck...do you have any trouble with this?
@@josephferlitto4069 Where I work we have 2 Husqvarna backback blowers, and 3 weed eaters all kept in an enclosed trailer the 4-5 days not in use. Never had a problem with them and they are on their 2nd season with rough use and abuse. The blowers are always stored sitting upright, and the weedeaters are hanging horizontal on a rack. Best of luck with your gear
Bro I love the 525. I've been running the FS 90 Stihl's but haven't used the since I got the 525. I still like the 90's but they get heavy after a few hours.
@@perryadams7500 any weedeater becomes lighter with a darwin 6.0 grip. shits insane
@@perryadams7500 have you had any trouble out of it yet me an my buddy are gonna start a lawn care buisness this summer and i need a new trimmer i cant decide on stihl or huski
The Stihl 4 mix engines sound so good, have great power, good durability. Only drawback is you have to adjust the valve clearances. Takes 5 minutes but it's easy to neglect and when other trimmers require essentially no maintenance, it makes the decision a bit easier. I'm running a 525ls but wouldn't be opposed to any good trimmer nowadays, they are all really nice machines.
I've got to say the Echo would be the go to Trimmer for me. Two reasons: 1.) Great quality and 2.) My dealer is just around the corner. :)
I've already loaded my fuel cans with Sta-Bil for the Winter store! ❄❄❄
Personally I run a stihl kombi 111 with a brush, weed wicker attachment and I’ve used the trimmer for over a year and I really enjoy the power and my dealer support, good luck to anyone who wins!!
We use the stihl they run good, cuts good and very dependable. I thank they are the best.
They are good if you like to always run at full throttle my 111rx bogs and dies when i dont and the dealer says nothing is wrong and i should be running full throttle but at full throttle it does fine
I’ve always been a fan of STIHL equipment. Super reliable engines with high torque. Another winning feature of STIHL is their variety of different attachments.
I would definitely choose the STIHL FS 91R
I have a few yard as a part time business and use the Echo 225. It is 10 plus years old and has been a durable and reliable trimmer for me. Thank you Brian and the rest of the TEAM for taking the time to make the video.
Mariama
I've settled with Echo. Very durable and gets the job done.
I personally use echo for my business. I have found it to be reliable and affordable which are key factors since I am a high school student with 30 yards weekly.
Go you man, hustle it up
Yeah I have found that when it comes to St. Augustine grass and manicured lawns the echo has a good rpm and doesn't rip and roar like a stihl now if you have a basic fence line and thick vegetation and something that is super durable and can take a beaten, then I would be comfortable saying that the stihl is ths way to go.
Stihl has more cutting power
I am a weekend warrior and Sthil is the Best by far !
I just purchased an Echo SRM 225. I love it .I had a blast with it, clearing an area in my yard of tall weeds
I’m just loyal to STIHL, I have several STIHL products, and they always seem to last me a while. Personally my favorite is the FS 94R because it works really well for fences or in area where you’d normally have to feather the trigger.
I have the 94 r I love it. I just dislike the choke I don’t like how when you hit the throttle the choke turns off
@@robakubeno4461 I wonder if that is standard for STIHL because my 91R does the same thing
@@gabesmith6475 yeah I’m not sure I like to play with the throttle and the choke to get it going. When I used the red max 260s I can do just that
What you can do is turn the choke half way, which will be your warm up. It will be at high idle speed. That is standard with ama carburetors. It is supposed to make it easier, so that you don't have to turn it off, you can just hit the throttle.
Same
Maruyama for me , been cutting grass for years , and it came with a 5 years warranty , and my local dealer sells them . Runs great ,,tons of power !
I’ve been using the ECHO 2620 to run my business and I have lovedd it. It has plenty of power and the throttle response is immediate!
Born and raised on Stihl. I'm using Stihl, still. But, I recently bought the Husqvarna 535LS for heavier jobs, and that thing is an animal. But, I must admit; the Maruyama is intriguing to me.
I'm 13 and I've been mowing since I was 6 years old. Now I have my own mowing business. My go to trimmer is the echo pas-225(it's my only trimmer). It's a good trimmer and it's the best one I've owned. My dream trimmer is the pas 2620 I've been watching so many videos what trimmer is the best and the 2620 was on it so. I would really love to have it. Great videos!!!!
I started out using the stihl fs91r and it was a good trimmer. Then I ran across an issue with the valves so I bought an fs 131r. Since I have fixed my 91r and made it a short range pole saw. A year after using these I was irritated with how heavy they both were so I looked into the Husqvarna 525 Lst. That thing is so freaking light and the 2 to 1 ratio is amazing. So another year went by and I found my self yet again in a situation where I got tired of lugging 2 trimmers everytime I cut since the fs131 overpowers the 525. So I stumbled across the echo 2620t. It's comfortable, I love the trigger, it's a great mix between the 131 and 525 and it's lighter than the 131 but has all the power I could ever need. So now I use the 2620t for all my brush cutting and tall grass needs and I swap back and forth between the 525 for around the house since it's so light and to keep it running. Alittle bonus I also switched from the fs91r short range pole saw to the Milwaukee battery pole saw and hedge trimmers and let me tell you guys.... go buy 1. They are amazing and work better than most of the gas 1s I have used and I can use it at night if I get off late and don't wanta disturb the neighborhood! Great videos keep them coming and let's see the new blower wars video. Echo 9010 for the win lol.
The echo 2620t is what I run all day everyday. I have the 3020t but prefer the 2620t as I can move it around quicker since it’s so light and it doesn’t kill my back at the end of the day!
I would choose Red Max because I feel like they have good power and I have never had many issue with them. Another helpful video Brian !
I personally love Husqvarna. They are lightweight but powerful which makes knocking out my yard quick and easy.
I have a new and growing lawn and landscape business in Grand Rapids, Michigan. And so far the Echo trimmer has been great for me! Thanks guys!
STIHL is my brand of choice for all had power tools. I use a STIHL for keeping the fence rows trimmed on my family’s farm. It’s a pretty good brush hog some days.
Look up that handle 👆 he's got the best tips and stuff for micro-dosing shrooms, psych meds, DMT trips, psilocybin, and ships too. I've micro-dosed shrooms for about 6 months now and it has really helped my anxiety and depression. I'd recommend it to anyone.
"we are engineers". I've used all of these. Each have thier pros and cons. The Husqvarna comes in a 525l 525ls 525lst. Definitely an upgrade when a aluminum plate is on the bottom. Anti-vibration device in the handle. Solid spline internal drive. Magnesium crank case. If you line them all up the Husky is by far the more ergonomic and smoother lines. Has the auto-return off in the handle. All the lines are completely inside. Lightweight. Two stage air filtration. The trigger is almost impossible to break. All the fuel lines are compltely inside. The choke is by far superior to the others it's either on or off. I started with a 128ld a year and a half ago. With multiple attachments. I've upgraded to the 525lst the 525ecs 525p4s 525he3. Powerful lightweight engine each of them have the anti-vibration handle. Great platform. My 128ld still comes along with us but rarely used. 2nd year owner and would love a new 525. We run all husky equipment except for our Spartan mower.
Forgot to mention the heat shield!
Personally my favorite is echo. I love the 2620 it has great power and great weight. I also love the 3020t for the amazing power and weight wise its not bad ether. I’m 15 and have my own company and it would mean the world to me to get a new trimmer from a great UA-cam channel. Loved the vid. Thanks Brian!!!
I am 13 and I have always used Echo but I have recently picked up a. Stihl FS111rx and I will never go back, starts on the 1st to 3rd pull, and I love the fact that it is a four stroke. It is now my go to trimmer.
My favorite was always Shindaiwa which isn’t in this video. I’ve also really liked Echo. My understanding is that Echo and Shindaiwa are actually the same company now. I love the speed feed heads on them (both Echo and Shindaiwa have the speed feed). By far the greatest invention ever for a trimmer. Saves loads of time and anyone can reload them.
Echo bought Shindaiwa!
@@TheRealEricRose shindaiwa/echo are just 2 brands from same company YAMABICO
??????????
Unfortunately many shindaiwas are now re-branded echos, and echo has sold their soul and gone into a domestic market focus, so the shindaiwa of the past is largely gone. Nowdays if you are looking for the same premium quality japanese made machine look at Marayama
@@amosk2416 I totally agree with you on that, these days Shindaiwa is literally nothing but a shitty copy of echo and because of that Shindaiwa shouldn’t even exist anymore, so therefor echo is the whole way to go
I know their all good trimmers but I’m a Echo man all the way!!!!!
Echo 2620 for the win.!
Although I just use cheap Ryobi 2 stroke trimmers and surprisingly they are still running after 3 seasons I don't even do any maintenance to them except change the spark plug. They start up every season.
mcculoch or sthil
Don't have an Echo trimmer, but my Echo pole saw never starts. Damn thing hates me!
I’d prefer echo Srm 225.
Same! I worked for a lawn care company for 4 years and the echo was always my go to trimmer. Especially on the days I was doing HOAs, or had lots ditch drains I had to trim around. It ate through everything like butter, even stuff that was a few feet tall, and it never broke down.
The Echo 2620t is my favorite one I've used so far. As long as Dad hasn't grabbed it first it's the one I go to. Connor needs to calm down!🤣😂🤣
I like husky, reliable and well built machines. I find that for regular trimming I enjoy using the lighter weight ones, beats carrying an overpower oversized one for just cutting short stuff.
I operate my business solo and I have 3 Stihl FS 56. They are really light weight and do great for what I need. I do about 20 weekly lawns all residential
ive used ECHO and STIHL, by far my REDMAX is the best trimmer ive ever owned, and their backpack and handheld blowers are incredible as well
We run all Stihl. They’re the only ones we’ve found that stand up over time to the guys use and abuse. We do a ton of large municipal work and run mostly FS240Rs, some of the smaller crews run FS131Rs and FS111Rs
I run a stihl kombi system wich love it because ive got tired with full weed wackers and having to buy hedge cutter wich i gave it up and bought stihl kombi because it takes up less space and 1 power unit instead 13 different power units and use up alot of space wich why love the kombi system 1 machine for 100 jobs
We used to run SHindaiwa. They were the best, we can't get them anymore and i understand echo now owns them so not sure about quality. We have switched to Stihl and are so far happy. Stihl for the win!
I was wondering why i dont see Shindaiwas on these channels , im fr. Hawaii & theyre like the Top for home & comercial , & yeah i guess Echo bought them but it seems they still both seem to still be as they were over here anyway , but the others would be sthil, echo ,maruyama, .....love the channel ✌
Shindaiwa were SO good back in the day!
Hell yes, for the 'Old School" Shindaiwa (made and engineered in Japan). I'm still running them! Best thing is you can still get parts even for the older models. Always use E-free gas for trouble free performance.
The old Shindaiwa ads would say: "First to start, Last to quit." Meanwhile, I see the Stihl (shitty) guys pulling and pulling on their starter ropes....LOL
Echo and Shindaiwa are both owned by the same parent company now, Yamabiko in Japan.
My go to is the sthil FS56, I have about 20 lawns myself this works for me. Thank you guys for another great video.
Stihl is my go-to brand, it’s all I’ve ever used. I’m currently using the FS-94R and I love it. It’s light and has the perfect amount of power for what I’m doing.
Also, my dealer sells Maruyama and a lot of people in my area use it. I don’t like it because the grips seemed a little weird.
I love Husqvarna for Trimmers, and Stihl for blowers and chainsaws. Love your content!
Starting our lawn care business next year and we are looking to get Echo’s. I’ve grown up using STIHL around the farm and house but have heard nothing but great things about Echo!
Highly recommend echo, they’re by far the most reliable second being stihl but we always had shaft problems with those so stuck with echo, highly recommend the srm 3020T
My favorite trimmer is a Stihl FS94R. If I won I would take the Stihl FS91R. Great Video!
I have the redmax and the husqvarna both with speed feed heads guards off, the husqvarna feels lighter for me and starts with no problem no idle. The redmax just seems more powerful, but the husqvarna has me less fatigued at the end of the day!
Husqvarna guy over here! I’m a full time carpenter, but I’m mowing a few lawns on the weekend. Good luck to all, and keep up the good work Brian! Love the podcasts.
Maryama , hands down. I have had mine for 15 years. Light matience. Don't ever remember even changing the plug. Made to run 8000 rpm. all day long.
As I told you on instagram I have been running my Maruyama this past summer for my first year officially in business. I have about 10 weekly clients but have been using this trimmer growing up on my parents property for 10 years or so and my dad used it for years before I took over. So happy to see this video. Looks like I am leaning toward Redmax because of its smaller more lightweight build kind of like my Maruyama that I've been using. The STIL is also a contender and I could totally end up with that some day but my first choice would be a Redmax.
Read this book Your First Year in the Landscaping Business by Keith Kalfas. It will help you grow and what Keith say's in the book is true. Get the book.
I had nothing but problems from redmax trimmers. Their carbs are super duper picky about the gas mix, like real bad. I have multiple shindaiwa trimmers ranging from 10 years old to two, and I have never had a single issue out of any of them. Both redmax trimmers I've bought brand new, the biggest ones - 3060's, they both only worked properly for less than a full season. This is on the same exact gas mix that all my other equipment was using and working just fine on. I use 93 octane with stihl synthetic oil and I am very meticulous about getting the mix right. Most honest shop mechanics will tell you the redmax carbs are not the best. I've heard it from three different ones myself. Of course, everyone's use case and experience will vary, but I'd never give redmax another dime.
I have had an echo for 12 years and love it. Tons of power
How's the maintenance? Thinking of purchasing one
My favorite trimer is my Stihl FS-91R OR KM-91R. Best trimmer ever!! I like that it has a lot of low end torque, and that you don't have to rev it so high to cut grass.
My go-to trimmer brand is Stihl! I started out using my dad’s ancient Stihl FS 250 and then got a FS 90 and then a FS 130 and I have been using it for about the past 7 years! I work with a guy sometimes where I use the Redmax and the light weight is nice, but I don’t feel like they have as much power as my Stihl.
I've had Stihl's for a long time and I've been happy with how long they last and the power that they deliver. I am currently using the Stihl FS 111 RX and I love it! So if I was to pick one it would be the Stihl. Thanks for the awesome videos that you put out. They've really helped me in my business.
I've pretty much have ran and work on all of the trimmers you selected and tested. The two trimmers I prefer are the Husqvarna 430ls. The 430 is very comparable to the Redmax. My second choice is the Stihl FS 94. 2 stroke power and pretty light. It also has a throttle control .
The stihl was rocking the high grass. I do like echo but this win would be the stihl for me. Great vid
I have been running my Echo 225 last few years and for less than 20 yards they are still running great and solid. Would like to upgrade to commercial echo weed eater oneday for more power. Have been using stabilizer in my gas and haven’t had any carburetor problems in about 2yrs.
I've have had my pas 225 for over 8 years and not a major problem, a tune once in a while but it has been great.
@@stickmanbw yeah same
I run Husqvarna for my lawncare business and i have to say my absolute favorite to work with is the 525L, its light weight amazing power cuts tall grass like butter.
Hey Brian, I just wanted to say that as a brand new owner operator (less than one month into providing services as Fit for THE King Lawn Care Services LLC) I have really enjoyed and appreciated all of the helpful advice and videos and podcasts of yours hat I have consumed. You are really helping me to gain a true business mindset to start off on the right foot with my business so I can go the long haul!
Currently I am using all borrowed equipment but I am hoping to be able to pick up an echo trimmer soon as one of my early purchases.
Thanks again for what you are doing for the Lawn Care community and for me!
I would definitely go with the Echo ,more reliable and the motor is just a monster.
facts, x series 2620 t the way to go🤙🏾
Weed eating is by far my most favorite thing to do with lawn care. As far as brand, I like my husqvarna but I like the stihl as well.
If you have the 525l you should get a 525lst it's even better, believe me.
@@mudhustle wonder why they didn't get that one
Thanks for the video guys. Good to get the hands on. Any chance you might be able to do something similar with the battery trimmers as well? They are getting better and better. So it's good to have quality reviews to showcase them.
Husky 223L from lowes, lasted 15 years and never failed to start and super light, balanced well. Only complaint is the guard doesn’t protect user very well.
My son Zachary and I have been running a newer FS-110R and my Dad's old FS-110 RX. We are looking at replacing the worn out head on the RX. We like Stihl cause they always start up and are trouble free. We put the Darwin's Grips on them due to your channel and haven't looked back. I am 6'5" and my son is 6'6" and we both now love the "painless" trimming. We will likely be starting up a lawn business for Zachary next year. We are running a 2015 Toro Zmaster 6000 60" 34hp Kohler that is just like your Exmark, 1989 Toro Wheelhorse 724Z 24HP Onan, 1994 Toro Groundsmaster 325d 72" Mitsubishi 25hp Diesel, and my Dad's old 2003 Dixie Chopper 50" Kohler 23hp. Awesome channel Brian!
My favorite I’ve got to say is the echo. My experience with them has just been phenomenal
Glad it has for you because they've been a nightmare for me
Stihl FS 111 has been the go to for as long as we’ve had them. Easy for us to maintain, great service from our dealer, and overall familiarity as we’ve been running Stihl for as long as I can remember. Would love to win a Stihl or any trimmer really to replace our battery powered black and decker one we got as a hand me down when we first moved into our own place!
Holy crap I've had such bad luck with the 111s and 91s its not even funny, switched to echo, it's a shame because I loved my fs90 and 110s.
The Echo would be my choice between them all. Reliable and powerful, plus that handle seems really nice!
Plus the speed feed is an ingenious feature!
The handle is aftermarket and could go on any of them
@@dantecoviello8505 only $30 and you can convert any of them to the speed feed head
I am 14, I LOVE stihl equipment. My dream trimmer is the fs94r just simply because it is a standard 2 stroke and it doesn't have valves like the fs91r.
I’ve got approximately 1800 hours on my Honda gx35 four stroke trimmer and that thing is absolutely reliable and powerful. Only con is the weight. My Husqvarna 128 just bit the dust after only 150 hours but I wanna try the 522L and see how it goes.
I love the echo 26-20t we use them at work and I would definitely recommend them
the best,I started out with the Husqvarna, tried the Stihl pretty good, but the 2620t is the best 4 me.....
The echo is pretty good. I got the three major brands but I think I like my husqvarna a bit more than the echo. Still really good tho
My favorite trimmer is STIHL. Would pick STIHL over all the other brands.
Same
I have that stihl and the power and feel of it is awesome, little heavy but not bad
I work as a m2 at a prison and basically I'm a grounds keeper and I use a stihl everyday and it's great power and I have the shield off so I can make the string real long and make my job easier I've had this same weed eater for over 12 years lots of use and it was there before I got there lol my at home weedeater is a ryobi now not the same power or handles I've had it going on 20 years without a single issue beside the screen getting dirty and then I just removed that after first year both are great for me at home I'm using ryobi for life cost power long lasting just a better Value for just yards until ryobi makes a handle weed eater at work ill stick with what I got lol
I agree with you guys! 👍
Definitely a red max for me. If trimmer wars 2.0 happens all guards off would make it more fair I feel like it limits the trimmers capabilities.
I used to be a Stihl guy... then I tried Echo.... but I'm set on Shindaiwa.
I don't know how the newer ones are, since the Echo buyout... but the older ones are the best, most dependable, best performing trimmers I've ever used. I have one that's a 2006, been through two gear heads, never even had to tune the carb, much less repair it.
My favorite thing is how they rev, and their carbs are more tolerant of modern gas. First time I ran one, I was afraid of blowing it up. They rev way higher than I'm used to.
I've used Stihl FS110 brush cutter with a metal blade quite a bit for a couple areas of my property that I'm not able to mow... so I just knock it down a few times a year. It's a great machine! That said, I'm leaning heavy towards picking up an echo in the Spring for the coming year. I'll keep the stihl for brush cutting, but I'd like a second machine that's lighter and just run string on it. Everyone seems to agree that echo has the best bump head
Hey Brian, great video as usual. I have been using Echo trimmers & backpack blowers for my properties. My trimmer is over 10 years old & still rocks!
It’s not the trimmer it’s the guy controlling the trimmer
It is not the person
@thestevensons4303 i definitely do belive it is the person cause it depends the speed the person is moving and how aggressive they are with it
The best one was not even in the line up! The Stihl FS 80 R is the best trimmer hands down. 15+ years and literally two days ago the pull chord broke and I had to replace the prime bubble a year ago. Still runs great and starts on second or third pull every time, still has the bell ringing sound from that old two stroke. Old school Stihl for the win!
Just bought a house and didn't have much money left over, so I bought a troy bilt home trimmer with a brush cutter to knock down some stuff the last owner didn't take care of. Would love a nice commercial style unit for all of my acreage. Thanks for the chance!!
love the stihl. have been dreaming of starting my own business and have been saving money for the equipment i need. close to there, and wouldn’t have strived for it as much as i have without watching your vids! thank you.
My go-to trimmer right now is a Makita MM4, tad heavy, but smooth and quiet 4-stroke with surprisingly good torque. I recently got a Makita LXT cordless that I use around the house. My all time was the same Echo, older model.. seemed like it could eat anything and do it all day, seemed to be easier on my lower back than anything else I've found, maybe it was a touch longer than the others. Fun video, glad I came across it.
I’m a big fan of shindawa, second best for me is the red max…
I had an Echo 225 for 12 years and now I have a Maryuam trimmer, I love it.
Stihl FS70 with speed feed head and guard removed. I run low carbon oil in the fuel and Sta-Bil Marine.
Last year I bought an efco Ds 2210 s that's 21.7 cc straight shaft that weighs in at 9.0 lbs. Made in Italy
This year I bought an efco ds 2210 t
That has the handle bars and weighs in at 10.6 lbs.
We mow cemeteries and that's alot of trimming so we like the handle bars and this efco is the lightest straight shaft with handle bars that I could find and it has proven to be a good product.
I love my stihl kombi km130 straight line trimming. Tons of power, sips fuel and is pretty quiet.
I have been watching your video for the past 2 years has inspired me to start up my business this past March 'Cooley Lawn Care and Snowplowing
ECHO 2620 all the way! I personally run the 225sb and it has never disappointed me.
I have ran stihl for 17 years and just recently tried echo and they are light and are a mean whip. Can run line super long and doesn't bog. Hardly any vibration as well. I do wish that the engine cover was flat like the stihls so that you can lock your elbow in and not have anything jabbing you. This test doesn't say much as most were not trimming as cleanly as i would. You and the guy that took the longest probably did a more quality job. I would also like to add that the echo does a lot better at mulching up the grass than the stihl. I do a second pass over any tall grass that i trim so that I have a more picture perfect looking yard once I'm done and keep from having to run the mower back over what I trimmed.
My Echo SR210 was handed down by my dad
10+ years still going crazy
I always run my 2 stroke a little rich
💯💯💨💨
Stihl 131 is my trimmer of choice even though little heavy for everyday use. One of my main reasons is u can put hedge trimmer, saw, and blades
That's what I use, the fs 131 r. I use all attachments, the best line is savage .105 from Lowes
I don’t think you could go wrong with either one. I have used Stihl and Echo over the years. My favorite so far is the Echo. I like not having valves to adjust. Lot less moving parts. I have a dealer who sells Echo, Red Max, and Stihl. One thing he mentioned was that Redmax used to be the best when he started but lately they have had a few problems since the Husky merger. He pushed me towards Echo. I have not been disappointed. Everything that I have was built in Japan with the exception of my 9010T. I have a 3020T, 410X, CS-620P, and the 9010T. I have heard really good things about Maruyama though. They remind me of the original red max machines built in Japan. I think the only drawback is dealer support. I only have one dealer around here and it’s not the best. They have both a 5 year residential and commercial warranty though.
I use the Husqvarna 535LK pro combi, shed loads of power, great balance and with multiple attachments you can do almost any job! Expensive but worth every penny!!!
I have used various trimmers over the years and to me still has always been the best. They are reliable long lasting and can do anything.
We use the Echo 2620T nothing nothing beats it. And I noticed no one had anything negative about it in this video
Great comparison video!! What shoulder strap do you use with the Echo trimmers? I’m trying to find a more comfortable strap…
We honestly don’t use any straps sorry
My wife and I have been using the stihl at home and love it! We have also heard great things about the Red Max. Next year we are thinking about going out and starting our own lawn mower service. We live Texas! We are looking to start this business because we love the outdoors along with our kiddos (five beautiful babies) and found this would be a perfect job we could do as a family. We have been watching your videos for a while and they are Very helpful and actually has been helping us through this process. Thank you for doing what you do. Anyone would be blessed to win this.
My go to brand is Stihl and I love the FS91R I’ve ran it all throughout this year and I also have a KM111 and all my employees love it.
I'm doing lawn care as a side hustle, have 11 accounts and three of them are just trimming, I use a Milwaukee M18 Quik-lok. I like the options with the different attachments. I have an edger attachment for old thick edging jobs where the trimmer won't suffice, and the pole saw which works great. Trimmer works great, very easy to control, but of course I have to deal with expensive batteries and constantly charging them.
I’ve got an 18 year old Stihl fs110. Bought it brand new. Can’t kill the thing!
Hey guys so I'm 25 years old I've bin doing gardening service since I was 15 and we used redmax bcz 2660 ts back then so I got really comfortable using them.. we used echo srm266 but they all tend to need more carb maintenance we had 2 stihls 240r and they both ran for a full season but they where heavier units I also ran shindawia 282t they burned threw the spark plug in the first 2 weeks .and 1 year ago on Oct 26 I started my own service ... I didn't have money to buy new equipment . But I was the equipment tune up guy in my old job and we'll I had 5 260t redmaxs that needed work because in 2016 when the did the emission regulation they actually had more power higher Rev but the clutch boot wore out in about 4 months of use and drive shaft spindles would strip so I ordered the boot and the spindles for under $70..now were in 11 months running them now the 1 I always use looks like the boot should be replaced soon ..ive bin in the field for 10 years now and I won't ever try anything else again I found what works for me.
Pretty cool trimmer showdown. They all seem like great trimmers. I personally run the Husqvarna 525l. Stihl KM-94R and a 21 year old Stihl FS-250R trimmer/clearing saw. All of my trimmers still have their grass guards on .All three are meaner than a junkyard dog chewing a bone. The KM94R and the 525l are used for regular maintenance. The FS-250 is used for serious overgrowth and clearing brush/sapling trees. I call that one my leveler. It has maintained a horse stable including the fence lines of hay fields and always won the battle easily. Oh with the four mix Stihl engines make sure the valves stay within the lash tolerance. They will go out of adjustment in time. That's why I stick to the traditional two strokes.
As someone who has been through multiple different models and different brands my go to is the fs91r purely because in country nsw the extra torque is a must with how thick the grass can be in bushland job sites
I have all ways used Echo Trimmers, very reliable . Great video guys Thank You!
Stihl Kombi 91r with a paddle brush and weed wacker it’s a great trimmer to start out with used it for over a year and I really enjoy the power and my dealer support
We don’t do so much lawn maintenance anymore, just one day a week, so our go to is the echo srm225. Cheap enough to replace a little more frequently and not cutting any thicc stuff
The shaft drive of the Redmax I cant live without. No clutch and cable drive rattle. Just smooth instant power. The 230 is great to for weekly cuts and weighs a bit less than the 260
My father and I run an Echo pas 225 and have had no issue so far this season. But we just started in June and have 20 weekly accounts and 4 bi weekly.
I run Stihl and Husqvarna. FS91 was my go to until I purchased the 525L. The Stihl has more power but the Husky is so light and I never have a feed issue with the trimmer head. I will probably buy another 525L The Stihl died yesterday.
