The way you sounded apprehensive about hurricane Ian and how you’ve never been through this and then you say you’ll be OK, you have your ponchos…. I literally laughed about loud at that! 😂 We lost everything in Hurricane Ida and it’s been a long 17 months getting back to normal. Thank you for making me laugh and seeing some humor in the hurricane experience…it really tickled me. Seriously no hate in this comment….all love!
Huge props to the cast members for helping everyone make the best of it! It’s crazy to see how quickly the flooding happened and how littered the grounds were with leaves and what not. Just so glad that you guys were safe and still managed to have some fun!
Wow this brought back some crazy memories. I was a cast member at Coronado for Hurricanes Charlie, Francis, and Jean. Def a unique experience and fun experience. Coronado is def set up best for Hurricanes and emergencies as it is a Convention Resort with a huge banquet team. I will never forget the little girl who was watching the storm by the lobby fountain. Then I watched her entire countenance change when Belle walked up and invited her to read a book by the fountain. On a side note… I wonder if they ever renovated Casitas Building 2 4th floor? The only way to get there was through Casitas 3 🙄.
Oh wow! They were all in 2004 weren’t they? I was really impressed with the cast members and how organised they all were. Obviously it’s almost routine for them to ride out the odd Hurricane or 2.
@@JamesFarrow Wow that was a long time ago, ughh I’m old now. Yeah a lot of cast members really worked hard to make sure that our guests had a great experience, considering the circumstances. I remember running into a panicked family who were on their way out. Their son lost a hat with some pins he bought. They needed to leave, but their son was so distraught. I grabbed their info in the event we found it (we did not). I remember calling them to inform them we could not find it, which they understood. But I remember their surprise when I asked for their address, so I could send them a new hat with a whole set of cast member exclusive pins. I’m so happy to hear that my old cast member family were able to take care of you and help make the best of a crazy situation. I’m glad that everyone was safe. If I remember correctly, the cast members received a hurricane ride out exclusive pin, some concession popcorn/drink coupons, and free dining (appetizer, main course, dessert) for them and 3 guests at any Disney restaurant… I went to the Yachtsman Steakhouse. 😜 Anyway, loved your blog. Thank you for sharing. And, as a former cast member, have a magical day!
I planned my best friends party of 9 Disney vacation for the same week you were there but she had to reschedule due to hurricane Ian. They were arriving that Thursday. Then on my trip in November we had Hurricane Nicole. Good times lol!
James, you do an amazing job of vlogging and talking to the camera. It makes me feel like I'm right there with you all. The line to get into the food area was crazy! It looks like you all made the most of having to stay indoors during the hurricane watch. Good for Coronado Springs for handling things so well.
Hey Amy ☺️ I think I’ve massively learnt to shut everyone out around me and focus on the job in hand. It’s taken a while! Coronado were great and I’m glad I’ve managed to show that off! I hope you’re all okay x
We typically stay at Coronado in August and we’ve been lucky that this hasn’t happened while we’ve been there. It’s great to know what to expect, should that ever happen to us. Coronado did a great job under the circumstances. Thanks for doing this vlog - actually enjoyed it a lot!
Hi Patricia! I’m glad you enjoyed it and found it interesting. The level of anxiety was mixed with a level of intrigue. We last stayed at Coronado in Sep 2019 and there were no signs of any storms. I don’t think we would go back during hurricane season anymore. I’ve done it once, I don’t need to do it again 😂
We ended up getting the food boxes in the bar in the tower, only a very small queue, after getting the boxes so glad we didnt wait in the 2 hour queue they werent great
It’s definitely there :-) if you go to the video section on my page you should find it. Sometimes I think UA-cam suggests next episodes that aren’t chronological. Hope you’re enjoying the vlogs!
