I have two weeks left and then face mandatory retirement due to age. I was the guy always working nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime for additional money. I skipped many events which can't be replaced. Children's activities were missed, and now my wife isn't in good health. I have an impressive net worth but realize others will cash in when I'm gone. I sure wish we did more when we could've.
This video really opened my eyes to some habits I didn't realize could be so harmful in later life. It's never too late to start making better choices. Thanks for sharing
Praise Jesus Christ! Please read in The Holy Bible John 14:6, John 10:10, 8:36, Hosea 4:6, John 3:16-17, Matthew chapter 24 and Revelation 21:8. HALLELUJAH! God bless.
After 8o years old it makes very little difference about anything... I cannot depend on anyone... My biggest worry is dying inside my house with my dog trapped
Please God you will survive many more years. The love from your lovely dog means more than any human can give. Its not a nice world out there now, just getting worse. People are also becoming weird. I am 73. I don't have any family in the country I live in except my son. He has his own problems. Just take it all day by day. Try not to worry too much XX
Please find a way to tell someone to check on you. A district nurse. A local chemist shop u use. Someone from a church or a charity. Where I live an alarm for around the neck or an alarm for the wrist can b got Can wear it night or day Just press button in middle and an alarm goes off in their offices then they ring u There is a yearly fee but it’s cheap. Look into that in your area. Or something similar
I'm 76 I eat red meat almost every day I'm on zero medication I agree with you about the deli meats and sausages I eat whole-grain bread pasta I eat white rice eating it all my life snot the food exactly it's what they're putting in the food to destroy us so we'll take the pharmaceutical pills that they're selling like crazy 61% I think of Americans are on medications I could be wrong correct me if I am
Excellent dietary advice ! Since my wife died a few years ago, I used still to have one drink a day when the sun dropped below the yardarm, but now I don’t bother, and feel the better for it. But as we say in Scotland, “you’re a long time deid,” so perhaps I’ll need to start again before it’s too late.
I’m not really into lengthening my lifespan. I’m almost 71, 5 foot eight, 140 pounds of backpacking and long distance hiking machine. I also jog and do body-weight exercises and eat well. BUT I have no interest in living beyond a fit ambulatory state. Doing things just to see how many years I can burden caretakers doesn’t interest me! A heart attack or even cancer is preferable to me.
Very good advice and suggestions. I am in my mid seventies, I am maintaining almost a good health by eating whatever I like in moderation including soda and icecream in spite of being a diabetic and cardiac patient for the past 25 years. I also smoke in moderation and have regular health check ups. I walk 3kms almost daily and take some light exercises. I rarely advice anyone and meet very few people.
I’m accustomed to holding ETFs, but inflation is eroding my portfolio. My concern is whether I can continue to sustain my standard of living with $800k and avoid outliving my savings. Every withdrawal seems to make it harder to recover through compounding. It feels like ETFs and bonds are limiting my returns rather than managing risk
I'm approaching retirement and having a financial advisor has been helpful. I started investing later than most, so relying on compound interest from index funds or bonds alone wasn’t enough for me. Despite that, I’ve managed to do well and am on track to retire with around $5 million
I usually avoid making specific recommendations because everyone's situation is unique. However, my experience with Emily Ava Milligan has been quite positive. You might find it worthwhile to see if her approach fits your needs
Living life scared of everything is not living at all. Do not do anything to excess and let the chips fall where they may. Living to 90 and 100 isn't really all that enjoyable.
In my mid sixties, haven’t had a soda in over 50 years, can’t remember the last time I had fast food, still lift weights three times a week, diet’s not perfect, but I’m working on it and find only eating twice a day to be a big benefit.
I have eaten healthy my whole life! I haven't eaten red meat or processed meat in 50 years l am 69 yr.s old! I excercise ! I still work 3 days a week! I have several hobbies! I am single l have weekends off! My only concern are my older sisters and their husbands and children who have birthday parties at least 10 times a year, where terrible unhealthy food is served! Lots of beer etc. They r ridiculous! I take my own meal to these and leave early!😂🎉 lol they don't even notice!
Thanks for your precious time and consideration sharing your thoughts on healthy foods for elderly people age 50 forward, how to prolong life span, especially that I'm already 70 year old. To God Be The Glory 😇🙏💖🌺🍂🌿
This will likely be 'unpopular' or even 'counter cultural'. I find that as a Christian and relying more on God's guidance, many of these suggested behaviors are 'automatic'. I've been doing and living this sort of life for decades. Yes, at times I tend to violate the things I know to do, but usually not for long. I also find God's direction is quite valuable. God tends to relax and succor one more than expected.
The speaker has a lovely baritone voice. However, he does not pronounce the word “and” well enough for the automatic text. It ends up being “in”. Of course, the replacement does not make sense. May the producer of this video clip let the speaker know.
I am 69 on no medication and so far in good health . I am still working and active but my diet is what is on offer to us and am grateful that I can eat what I enjoy. Many of the alternatives I could not eat and food should be enjoyed.
Best to learn to die to self. This leads to inner tranquility as true spirituality can enter and dwell within. Go to the Heavenly Father and find out what He wants you to die to. He will show you if you are willing to obey Him. He led me 3 years ago to die to the desire to always be satiated. A little hunger is a good thing. I now intermittent fast most days which is going without food for 16 or more hours. I am no longer obese. Getting rid of all that extra weight was a good beginning for my new life as I was going into my 70's.
sorry, but 0. Changing lifelong habits all of a sudden from 50+ isn't going to do bupkis for what we've all set ourselves up for since we started eating. THAT is when we have to start what you purport, not by turning old. It's lifelong. BOSH.
Enjoy your life spend your money with your spouse and let your descendants build their own fortune. When you both pass donate your left fortune to causes that make this Planet a better place and not to humans who can carry their own weights. I personally, will donate all my fortune to Animal causes.
No habits can shorten or lengthen my life, only the GIVER of it. How can it be short when I am with HIM every moment of my life. Even if I do have those 8 habits but I am not with HIM, that will be HORRIBLE because my breath is only at the tip of my nose.

I'm worried about my retirement portfolio and could use some guidance. How can I get in touch with your advisor?
