I never knew how to express my emotion, like I have friends but… they’re not friends? It’s just like I know a bunch of people but I’m not really friends with them.. I’ve noticed that I’ve always been the wierd kid just because I want to stand out, to be different, to have people notice me. Obviously that worked horribly but I still can’t seem to shake off that habit. Whenever I do make a friend or when I like someone (both romantically and not romantically) I get really clingy and talk to them 24/7, wait for them to send a message, all that. They usually get annoyed and end up leaving. Idk what to do :(

Ha. I’ve been that friend… that’s why I’ve got like 5 friends now. No one deserves to be a side character, the one who remembers the birthdays but then no one remembers them. Even if your group of close friends or contacts is small, it’s better to have a handful of people you know love and care than all fingers and toes worth of people who don’t even remember you when you’re right there .. walking along a few steps behind them.

Ik this seems really random coming from a stranger but I need advice. I just started high school but the kids there aren't exactly real friends, I still talk to my old friends alot though so should I just try to be friends with my old friends more (aka the people who actually care about me) or just try and get closer with some other kids at the new school so I'm not lonely at school?
@@Audrey-dd4pt OKAY SO THIS WAS LITERALLY MY SITUATION LAST YEAR!! My advice to you is to definitely not lose touch with your old friends because they will keep you grounded. I still regularly hang out with my old friends and talk to them. Making new friends definitely takes a lot of adjusting especially to the point where you feel heard and stuff but just hold on and just make a little bit of progress everyday. Try to surround yourself with people that have similar interest as you or just nice people in general and be the one to reach out to them if you need to. Also getting involved at school is what really helped me. I suck at sports but I joined the field hockey team with no experience or anything and it helped a lot with making friends. And if you aren’t into sports then join a club or something! I know it’s hard but try to get out of ur comfort zone and I promise it will be worth it!! :))

Last year, on a fine sunny day during history class, before my teacher started our lesson he asked us "anyone wants to change their class(nxt door)?" (our class already reached the maximum amount of student so it's super crowded-due to the pandemic we need some students to move next door)
No one volunteered. So our teacher tried suggesting some of us name by name.
When our teacher said my friends name (boys/girls) most of my friends gave a sad reaction saying tht they don't want him/her to exchange class.
But what's the most painful part is, when the teacher said my name no one gave that kind of reaction. As if they're fine whether I'm in the class or not. Ever since then I realize that I actually don't have friends among my batch mates/classmates (I do realize all of this before but this made it more convincing) I may be friendly, have lots of 'friends', befriend with lots of people. But y'know what... this is what 'having friends' called hahaha.

This song describes my life- I only have 2 close friends and they're amazing! But all my other 'friends' and I only hang out when we hang out with someone else we know. There really is no room on the sidewalk for me. I'll walk home with them after school and I'm literally on the side of the rode but they take up the sidewalk and even if I do get space I'm behind them. They never ask for my opinion on anything and I can tell I'm a burden. But I'm trying to find new friends, it's just hard.

That why I don't feel confortable in big group of "friend", if you're not close enough to some, they forget you. It happened to me the 2 last years. I coudn't get closer to anyone. In that case I just prefer to be alone. Luckily I have true friends, but I live far away from them now. Being the ghost friend is really bad for mental health because it makes you feel worthless, that you could not exist and it would be the same.
