      Every detail doing the basement is a pain. First is dry wall on the ceiling. It’s heavy and complicated, cutting them and make sure they all fits. Then but joints, that made my whole place dusty and got pain on my neck. Then, ouff the subfloor, i’m using dricore and man, banging them together is freaking loud and got back pain and knees pain. Tomorrow, is priming the wall which it’s okay. Couple more days and I’m done. Bathroom is not even included in the projet, that’s for next year.

    If you don't mind me asking but how much did the total remodel cost? I'm trying to budget in a basement remodel and I have about the same size basement and can't find any information on how much it would cost.

      @@lamplighter6794 Well the lumber aren't trees anymore and people have been using lumber to build homes or buildings for centuries but for all the trees that are taken down, new seedlings, are planted, no such thing as "harming" a tree since it has no feelings, now if you accidently hit your thumb with a hammer, it'll harm you.. A lot! 😮

    How is it heated/cooled/ventelated? Don't see any HVAC duct outlets, but maybe I missed 'em..

    • @TheMrFinneth
      @TheMrFinneth  6 років тому +9

      No cooling. Small wall-mounted heating unit. Basement is very cool even in the hottest parts of the summer, so no need for air conditioning. If it gets warm (which it doesn't), can always turn a fan on. In the winter it is a little chilly, but not much. The wall heater works nicely

      I came here to ask that as well. In my state it isn't to code without HVAC. Even with an egress window you wouldn't be able to count it as square footage when you sell your house and the buyer might demand it fixed. Good job though.

    • @jimmywannstrom5151
      @jimmywannstrom5151 6 років тому +9

      I think its mostly because every other option would probably feel very cold in a basement. A carpet is always warm and pretty cozy imo :)

    • @TheMrFinneth
      @TheMrFinneth  6 років тому +16

      Why not? It's meant to be a hang out space. With carpet, you could walk down there barefoot or whatever. It's the most comfortable

    • @_trismegistus

      I was just thinking that after all that amazing hard work to get such a nice space, hard flooring would complement it so nicely. Carpet looks cheaper, but you are right in that it is more comfortable to have in a "hang out" space.

    • @TheMrFinneth
      @TheMrFinneth  6 років тому +7

      True. We were going for comfort anyway though, but hard flooring would look nicer
