The DRY O Cedar mop head is a fantastic dust mop, if you’re not into swifter trash. I use a dry one to get the dust from my floor, baseboards, and crown molding. Ceiling fans… you get the idea.
I do the same with 2 buckets and warm water. I also clean the floor with the mop completely soaked the first time and then absorbe it back with the mop thoroughly squeezed. It's the only way you can get the floors completely clean. Those pods are probably going to leave some residue on the floors.
Adding super hot water from a kettle takes it up another level and gets even MORE dirt out. Dishwasher pods work great for this too, but would recommend that more for tile or luxury vinyl, and not for stone or wood. 😉
@@MSuyay if you use something like powdered Tide or a pod, it needs the heat to dissolve. And those aren’t as harmful. But you definitely want to avoid super hot water with bleach or ammonia, because the fumes… 🤢🤢🤢
In CO there’s always a line of shoes at the front door at my daughter’s house. All of the kids’ visitors shuck off their shoes on the way in. Everyone seems to do that, maybe the snow? Not sure but when they visit the farm in GA off comes the shoes at back door. Saves a lot of dirt tracked in on tennis shoes and boots. Now if only the adults would do that!
I live in Canada, everyone takes there shoes off in the house. How gross to wear outside shoes inside. Plus if small rocks, etc get stuck in your shoes you can scratch your floors.
I would never have thought of detergent pods for my floors! My kitchen floor is ceramic tile and it never ever looks clean so I can’t wait to give this a try.
No dirty mop spreading dirt for me. I use a Karcher floor cleaner - it keeps clean and dirty water separate and you can do the whole ground floor in minutes - plus the floor is virtually dry immediately.
I usually use three buckets: one for fresh water, one for the cleaning solution and one to squeeze the dirty water into. THIS laundry pod idea sounds GREAT ! Now all I need is my new O-Cedar spin mop.
Since I don’t wear shoes in the home, I went shopping at Family Dollar for a pair of summer slip on clogs. Mines looked like the circus peanut candy because of the color. Works well for me. I don’t go outside in them. Just use them inside.
I love the O Ceder mop a lot I use mine every other day. I also use the swiffer dust mop too, I love it too...I'm heading stright down to the dollar store now to get the pods. Thank you so much. I use so many of you Hacks and boy has it ever helped me. Thank you so much for the tips....
Thank you so very much. You always give good tips, advice. Always love watching you. That happens at our house too. Not anymore from your mopping hacks. Again Thank you so very much. ❤️
I used the liebman floor forever. But my husband said not good for hardwood floor. Coming from a retired contractor. I like the o cedar I use a bucket the same way, but sometimes it’s too heavy to dump. Plus I got a dog…weee so much fun cleaning everyday especially being an old lady.
@@enjoy7024 all these cleaning videos these people have bigger kitchen sinks and their bathrooms are bigger than 2 of my bedrooms combined and they say they run out of space 🤨
Hi, what mop do you like the most since you said you weren’t the biggest fan of the 3 ceder? I was thinking about getting it after seeing so many people talk about it but it is a big bucket to have to store … any suggestions?
I used to own a front load machine when the pods first hit the market. Here's a tip for detergent pods in front load machines. Try putting the pod in the back of the drum before adding your clothes. That helps keep the pod from going into the rubber seal and creating a mess. I sometimes go to the laundromat for things my washer has difficulty with and use the front load machines. Putting the pods in the back before putting the clothes in helps with the pod not getting into the gasket. Hope that helps.
Hate to tell you this but ive been in the hardwood/ceramic tile business for 40 yrs. Laundry pods should never be used on hardwood floors. Your hardwood floors are an engineered hardwood with usually has about 4 layers of aluminum oxcide coating on top. The good thing about handscraped hardwood that is engineered it is more stable than solid 3/4 inch hardwood. The wear layer on top of the hardwood is anywhere from 1/4 -3/8 inch thick and cannot be refnished like 3/4 inch hardwood which can be refiinished 2-3 times before you hit nails. Laundry pods are not recommended for hardwood floors . Nor is hot hot water Bona products are recommended for hardwood. If you built the house go back to your original paperwork and look and see who manufacturered your hardwood. Hardwood floors are suseptible to temperature and humidity as you may know. I couldn't see gaps in the hardwood but in the winter they may shrink a little due do the dryness in the winter. Laundry pods are for clothes. Now ceramic tile maybe but the grout could breakdown form the agent in the pod. As long as your tile is not porcelain you should be ok. You know those grooves in between each plank those are made so that dust doesn't sit on top of the hardwood finish and goes down into the grooves between planks. I recognize the planks you have and handscarped hardwood is not supposed to be shiny. Look into Bona products. There was a time when people were using those steam cleaners but i think that went by the wayside. If you want to look at what you have pull up a register and look and see. It will have a few layers of thin plywood then a wood veneer layer on top.
I seen one of you're older videos on the dolar tree flat mop system and I had to go get me one they was out of all there mop pads and duster pads and poles I was heartbroken but I did get the head I went back agin there still out
I LOVE your videos but I am wondering about mopping hardwood with water??? My flooring installer advised that mopping with water would make my warranty invalid. I only use Bona on my woods. I do use water & Fabulouso with the O'Cedar mop on my tile.
I bought the Vileda rinse clean spin mop and have no idea once you spin the mop and then place it on the floor to clean where do you spin it so your not putting dirty water back into the clean bucket. Am i missing something here because I'm confused.
EARTHCLEAN product that is earth friendly. Simply place a sheet In with the laundry. The sheets dissolve NO DETERGENT IS NECESSARY. Sheets are mildly sented. I have completely removed detergent & other products. Can order online❤
What kind of floors do you have I want that for my home I’m going farmhouse vibes but don’t know what exactly to ask for lol sorry my mind is everywhere but I hope you can help me thank you in advance god bless
If you have pets it might not be a good idea to use pods. It might be toxic for them. They walk on the floor then lick their paws. I have 7 dogs and use vinegar and warm water to clean my floors.
Im going to have to get one of those mops and try this. I'm a housekeeper and I've tried everything on floors. And I just can't figure out how to get some floors looking great like I'd like it to look. Also does it smell good too? My clients love to come home to a great smelling home.

Not that hot, or you end up breathing all the chemicals from the floor cleaner. And maybe some of them won't work that well with boiling water.

We always take our shoes off at the door...made our kids do it too...your floors stay cleaner that way.

To stop washing pods getting stuck in the door & not dissolving don’t put them at the top of your washing but under an item or two.

Andrea Jean, do you need to rinse after washing with the pods?
I kindly ask people to take off their shoes when they come in our house, which helps a ton! I have dogs and wipe their paws as well

I'm still trying to find a small bucket that fits inside my spinmop bucket. Right now, I'm dipping my clean mophead in my bathroom sink. Thank you.
Not sure if you found one yet as this post is a year old. I use the buckets from the dollar tree , fits right inside the o'cedar bucket
I use tide with a little Pinesol works and smells good

What kind of swiffer pad is that ? It looks like it’s white fluffy material
Thank you for the informative videos. Quick question, can the laundry pod mopping hack be used on luxury vinyl plank flooring?
Do you rinse the floor after? I am thinking the detergent is not rinse free, there will be a layer of soap on the floor when it dries up?
I do not 👍
Just found this. I wonder why you don't use a dishwashing pod? I have ceramic floors.
Why do you think the laundry pods work better then floor cleaner?
Thank you for the idea I will certainly use this technique.

Andrea, did you have to have to go back and rise the floor with clean water when it dried? I forgot to ask you that this morning!
Nope 👍
Why do you wear shoes in your house? You would clean less if you just wear house shoes. Try it! I buy my $1 flip flops at Old Navy.
