    If you leave a comment I appreciate it! But, youtube is being glitchy and I'm not able to see all comments. They say they are working on the problem. If I don't respond to your comment it's most likely because it has disappeared from my view. Hopefully I will be able to see it soon.

    Tlaquepaque! It probably has changed...we loved to go there any chance we had. We had our area where to park and one day we arrived and oh surprise! That street was now closed to traffic! It was now just for walking.
    I new all the stores! Just memories and lots of things I bought...

    ¡Hola Mora y bienvenida a Jalisco!! I moved to Guadalajara eight months ago and I also brought my pup with me. After finishing the dog food I brought from the US, I started her on a high-quality dog food. In the end, it was not the right food for her because she ended up having some significant health issues. I found an excellent Vet in Guadalajara, and my girl has fully recovered. I don't know if you have had to change food up or not. I know you are south of here, but if you need a great vet who is very affordable, let me know. Hoping your pup is feeling better soon!! 💕

    • @MoraMargaret
      @MoraMargaret  4 місяці тому +2

      Thank you so much Wendy! I'm happy to say that currently Viggo is fine with no recurrence of his skin issue. I'm glad your pup has recovered too. What was in the food that caused her problems? We have moved on from the area, so if I need another vet I will have to ask for recommendations wherever we are. How do you like Guadalajara??

    • @cwisaac22
      @cwisaac22 4 місяці тому +2

      @@MoraMargaret Hi Mora! The food that caused issue was: Natural Gourmet Receta Carne y Frutos del Bosque.
      The food the vet put her on is: Pro Plan Optiderma Sensitive Skin Alimento Seco Receta Salmón y Arroz. Which has cleared up all kinds of issues.
      As far as Guadalajara, I am really enjoying it. It was not what I was expecting, all the same, the people, culture, weather and food are fantastic! I live close to Bosque Los Colomos, so lots of trees and green which is a must for me.
      I subscribed to your channel, and I am looking forward to seeing where you visit in México next. ¡¡Un abrazo para ti y caudate!!

    My dog used to have that problem often. The vet advised to never leave him wet or humid. After a bath he needs to be immediately dried with a hair dryer. And they shouldn´t go into lakes or any standing water that you don´t know if it´s clean or not. He was given Omegas for a few months ( animal grade) as well as a special soap that really did the trick. We also have a human ointment that we keep on hand that helps it heal. That was also advised by our vet in Guadalajara. AND we were also asked to switch dog food. It´s also best to find a vet that will do a test on the area to make sure they know what it is and how to treat it.

    • @MoraMargaret
      @MoraMargaret  4 місяці тому

      Viggo is on the Omegas per the vet's instruction. If you think of the name of the soap and ointment I'd be interested to know :)

    I enjoy watching your dogs and your videos, and am paying close attention to your observations. Regarding skin issues in dogs, have you thought about changing their food? For another reason, I had to change one of my dogs' food and treats. Through reading about food reactions, I remember many skin issues being reported as solved through diet. Please keep making your videos, I respect your perceptions and philosophies.

      Thanks you! Viggo hasn't had a skin issue for months so I think it had to do with the heat and humidity. We got to cooler areas, and I've been giving him fish oil (recommended by the vet) and he's been fine. Thanks for your comment :)

    I’m not sure if what Vigo had was like a fungal infection but my dogs have had something similiar in Costa Rica and we used a little vinegar with water if it wasn’t too far along or some betametazona cream but I’m sure the dermatologist has recommended what they think is best.

    Hey Mora, I was just wondering if you have a stripping comb for your dogs? I had a collie that I had to use that with on his coat to thin it. He also had gotten a few hot spots. He had to wear a cone while topical antibiotics were on the spot. Another time he had an oral antibiotic. Sadly the heat can simply be tough on certain breeds of dogs and it seams like it’s going to be the new norm. You can also buy cooling pads for the dogs to lay on. Especially for driving in the car. I also bought window screens for the seats. Really made a difference with the hot sun coming in.

    • @MoraMargaret
      @MoraMargaret  5 місяців тому +1

      Thank you so much for this information! I've got a brush for the dogs but Viggo's coat is the thickest I've ever seen. I'll have to get a stripping comb. And a cooling mat. I've been freezing damp towels for them to lay on. He seems to have an extreme inflammatory response and it doesn't stop until the shots from the vet. I'm adding omega 3 fish oil to his diet too. Hopefully we can avoid more hot spots.
