    "Part of the Feminine conditioning is that you have to be useful."
    Uh, so is part of Masculine conditioning. X 100.
    It's called "The Human Condition(ing)" We are social creatures specifically because our inter-utility has helped us survive as a species.

      +astrallus I think anyone who goes along with that female and her ideas have never lived in a matriarchal society and have no clue how bad, bad can get. Ask anyone who has ever had a female boss -- that's just a very small indication of how bad, bad can get.

    Just so we are crystal clear JG, i find women amazing, creative, beautiful beings who deserve love and to be loved for who they are and what they bring to myself (WE) as a man (Men). What i don't find attractive about many women is their inability to see beyond what their "leaders" in the so-called "feminist" movement have been espousing and the truth behind their message....it aint about your "rights" or your "freedom".
    An for the record, any injustice to man/wo-man is just that -an injustice

    We agree sister, from the mother of the movement mary wollenscroft to later sisters who continued the struggle; I simply suggested to an earlier commentator that the movement has many facets such has the radical feminism, we agree the heart of the movement is equality in all its forms. peace and love to you and yours sister.

      @Exsugarbabe1 8 років тому +2

      Bertha Yellowfinch So you have chosen for kids to be the only thing you do, if you're happy with that fine but there are other things I want to do with my life and women need to be honest and stop the sentimentality. Lots of .women feel very conflicted and many are unhappy with family life.

    • @Exsugarbabe1
      @Exsugarbabe1 8 років тому +1

      1 Do you understand other people have different needs and experiences from you?
      2 What is wrong with not just wanting children, we need not have children or just one or two? Small families mean kids get more attention, parents can earn more. I worked in a youth club where the kids with biggest families seemed utterly starved of attention and overly competitive for it. Personally I'd rather do an OK job of two kids than a dreadful job of eight, I don't believe I'd do a good job on a big family.
      3 I'm probably not the sharpest tool in the box as I have Dyslexia bit I have done far better than anyone expected, so don't call me a bimbo, I struggled like mad to read and write.
      4 Thanks to the utter slush in the media and many people having little experience of kids until they have them many people have no idea of how hard having kids is, let's get some realism and no cruelly set up mums to fail.
      5 Many men promise to be good dads then utterly fail or damage their own families so the woman walks with the children, that doesn't make these women bimbos, love is blind and the smartest women can be fooled.
      6 In the UK big families cost the state even when the parents work so I'd just rather cost the state a little less. Big families don't bother me and I'd rather kids got looked after but I just think a big family in my position would be indulgent.
      7 I don't screw anyone, as a working single mum I have other stuff to do.
      So yes I have two kids so when they are grown I have a little freedom but there are some pretty unselfish reasons for sticking to two kids. My daughter is easy but my son is hard work so why would I upset him and make my life tougher, I'd need to be a bimbo. Women have as many talents and interests as men, we should use them. Women should also not have kids if they don't want them, there are more than enough human beings without deciding that every woman wants a family and making kids who are resented.

    People are so scared of feminism that it's become a four-letter word. Maybe because women make up half the human population, unlike Blacks, gays or other oppressed groups. The last thing the patriarchal power establishment wants is a female population capable of critical thought and independence.
    Sure there are differences between men and women, but they must not be used to discriminate. You're a human first and a gender second. As segregation taught us, there is no "separate but equal".

    I think that people's interpretation of feminism is what got skewed. Feminism (to me anyway, and to each their own, etc) is about debate, discussion, history. Looking at the world from a different perspective. One person's view on feminism is usually different from another's. Two people who are anti-feminist may be anti-feminist for entirely different reasons, as two people who are feminist or pro-feminist may find their reasons for being so different. It's a very 'broad' subject. Pardon the pun

    Feminism has, and never has, had anything to do with promoting men, helping men, freeing men. Any area you could say "but what about this" is always to benefit what women want... or what feminists say women want.
    Steinem seems to be completely a product of her environment. Her view supports determinism itself and is extremely disempowering.
    It's not easy to re explore why you are who you are! What? she has never done this!

    • @lilKelso
      @lilKelso 10 років тому +2

      what kind of "freeing" do men need?! women have been seen as lesser than men in our society for years. its only been 90 years since women were allowed to vote in the usa. that says a lot! never in the history of mankind have white males had anything to overcome socially. its sad that you feel so threatened by someone who tries and has done so much to help make the the world better! and how the FUCK do you think she's a bad person? Your comments are psychotic.

    • @danielmurray04
      @danielmurray04 10 років тому +3

      kk ok, women are believed in family court men. Even against evidence. Re the vote you say 90 years for women, but you leave out how many for men and what they had to do. Please don't tell me you don't know Steinem think men and women are the same and all differences are based on society? ... where did societies view of sex come from? she infiltrated black rights groups for the CIA! She thinks upper body strength requirement for fire fighter are sexist! I don't feel threatened by her, I feel worried about lies swallowed by morons like you... who are far too many! Do you even know what psychotic means? What good has she ever done? for others? none. as for the vote... are you serious? .5 % of recorded history is what women not having the vote represents.... it represents nothing! for almost all the time women hadn't the vote neither did men.... have you ever opened a book or do ou just follow the rest of the hate filled, determinist, feminist sheep!?

    • @danielmurray04
      @danielmurray04 10 років тому +3

      Daniel Murray who is really privileged and who is not. If you look at rights, responsibilities, freedom, choice, recognition etc. women are very privileged.
      It is often said by feminists that people with privilege don't see it. But instead of thinking that is a place that one comes to and should reflect on ones own privilege, they say of course this proves their point. Which it does not. In fact, men are the only group to have said or felt they were privileged, feminists NEVER say this. So by their own soundbite they condemn themselves.
      90 years since universal female suffrage in the U.S., how many was it since all men could vote? If you say not being able to vote is oppression, the men who couldn't vote were oppressed too.
      In the U.K. there was only ten years, if I remember correctly between universal male suffrage and females having the vote. Also the men fought and died and so they got it. The women just protested and stamped their feet and demanded it. The suffragettes were no looking for universal female suffrage as many misconceive.
      The other suffrage groups were looking for female and male suffrage. The suffragettes only for female suffrage. Wealthy female suffrage.

    • @danielmurray04
      @danielmurray04 10 років тому +3

      ***** Ok, I'm glad you say "gender role" rather than "patriarch" or male oppression. Men and women both equally, by and large anyway, have gender roles. It is not something imposed by one gender on the other in any way.
      Re voting, you see yourself the time between men and women having the vote is really incidental and insignificant. I can see how it is a time of unfairness towards women. But it is so small a time and other factors, like military service, were the reason for universal male suffrage, not anything sinister.
      When looking at that one has to see all the factors. Seeing it as men having voting rights and women not, it an extremely selective view.
      Do you agree?

    • @lilKelso
      @lilKelso 10 років тому +2

      ***** Dude... men are seen as above women in our society. look at how many male leaders there are compared to women. how can you not see this! you say men aren't free to be themselves but that is linked to sexim against females! men are supposed to be hyper masculine in our society because femininity is seen as week. hence women are seen as week. hence the importance of feminism! feminism has never been an attack on men! it is simply about empowering women and bringing attention to issues like unequal pay for women in the workforce, the fact that women make up only about 11% of films protagonists, the lack of female leaders, the fact that 1 in 3 women will get raped in their lifetime! etc.

  • @tadawoosh
    @tadawoosh 11 років тому

    Yes, and men also hunted and women took care of the berries. And somewhere along the way people began to stand upright... Back to the 21st century: women (in the West) are statistically better educated than men, which makes them predisposed to earning a decent living (that they still earn less than men for equal work is a different discussion). In the Third World, women work outside the home and earn a living because they have to. In the Third World, a woman means 2 additional hands to work.

    Some of us do not share your religion, so the quote "proves" nothing. It may have meaning to YOU (and you have every right to follow or not follow a religion), but the same words mean nothing to some of us since some of us are not religious or follow a different religion. Christianity is one of MANY religions. Some religions don't share your god. All of this is common knowledge. Then again, if history is to be trusted (eg. crusades), many Christians have a hard time grasping these concepts.

    there is still a wage gap actually in many countries and the only reason soceity encourages some female traits not all is because women are more left brained in that they are more maternal and less impulsive but generally able to handle situations whether bad or good in a much better way then men. feminists do not hate men but don't put up with the inequality with regards to how women are treated still as second class citzens in many parts of the world in this day and age. just saying..

    You say that and yet i doubt women will ever change their behavior when it benefits them. For instance i highly doubt that a typical number of women will pursue men instead of being pursed by men. It doesn't even bother me that its this way because biologically i can understand why. But when you help to pitch the idea of removing roles i then call bullshit because often people like yourself aren't even critical of women in all aspects. Instead all i see is self-interest at the expense of men.

Since you are so determined to live your life as a victim and blame others, you are welcome to it - that is YOUR choice. It has been said that victims are powerful people because as they go through their lives they get to live in the story of their victimization and have power over others.

      tatiana xo "just becasue she's being honest and does not follow the lead doesn't mean she's full of hate." that is one of the worst examples of straw man and putting words in someones mouth I have seen in a while. I won't be taking advise on understanding from someone who think I said being honest meant she was full of hate, as you have said here.
      Also, honesty is not a trait of a CIA mole, in fact the opposite. Liars, psychopaths, sociopaths or at least people who will do anything to get ahead, as Gloria has done.
      Also, I have not commented on her manner in the interview, but her. You failed to understand one simple sentence. Maybe look at your own inability to understand, reading things as there, that are not, before telling others they don't understand something you have no idea whether they do or not, in response to a comment that doesn't even mention it.
