Nick Benson I live by this park. This actually happened all the time. They had to manually crank the ride to get the riders back down the 300 foot shaft, which is why it took so long. They also used that time to evacuate the park. The ride has since been removed because of how often it would get stuck.
xxRunning Freyaxx I was at the park during one of the times the ride got stuck. It was 5 hours that time, I think. Emergency services weren’t needed, because nobody was ever hurt on this ride- just majorly inconvenienced, and the problem could be fixed by the park staff.
Let me inform you on what they were actually doing during the 4 hours. They were getting teams to get the riders down safely. It takes a while to get people down from a swinger ride like this.

There's engineers that check every ride before they go on it if there was something wrong an engineer would fix it or put the ride on off why would you think they'd be eating or smoking weed they're not even aloud to do that in the amusement park in Canada's wonderland and that ride I've been on scarrry

I know I'm weak when it comes to seeing people in helpless situations and although it turned out no one was in any serious danger, my heart broke seeing those poor people stranded so high up in such a terrifying situation. I'm thankful every one is safe and sound.

The ride was removed from Knott's because of this incident.
Denise James it was probably due to it not being very popular and then needing space. Knotts is landlocked so they have to remove rides to get new ones. Incidents like these aren’t common but they definitely aren’t bad. Especially not bad enough to close a ride for.
Jeremy Hockert This happened a LOT, though. It wasn’t an isolated incident. Nobody was ever hurt, but people eventually stopped going on the ride altogether. So it was taken out for both of those reasons. (Source: Knott’s is my home park.)

It wasn’t taken out specifically because it kept getting stuck, it getting stuck added on to it but it was actually because of California Earthquake laws that couldn’t allow a spinning attraction of this size, that’s why you don’t see any other Windseekers or Starflyers in California, and if you do then they’re small. Also I know it wasn’t because of it getting stuck because it still operates at a different amusement park in Missouri.

I'm not surprised that helped with her fear. She went up there to face what she was afraid of, stayed up there long enough to get through her panic and adrenaline high, then came out of the situation completely unharmed. AND they'll remember it forever. Sounds like a good day to me ;)

Omg this happened to me at Canada’s Wonderland. Went on it to conquer my fears of heights and it broke. I was stuck up there for over an hour. I was freaking out and when they eventually got us down they asked if we wanted to go up again because the ride was working again. Thank god they heard me screaming “I will sue you if you don’t let me off”. The windseeker is one ride that always breaks down at wonderland.
I live in Toronto and I'm pretty sure the windseeker rarely breaks down. It could have, gotten stuck that one time but the wind seeker doesn't get stuck that often
Windseeker rarely breaks down. Both this and the CP one are very reliable. You may be talking about Sledgehammer

I go to this amusement park every year. I actually have never been on this one, but this isn't the first time it got stuck.

Something like this happened to my best friend. She was on a ride at Kings Island like this (except it wasn’t swings, it was seats) and the ride was stuck at the top. Everyone was screaming
“JOE GET US DOWN!” But Doug, Doug was their knight in shining armor because he pushed the right button, and got them down. She couldn’t talk for a couple of days after that🤣

My sister and I got on a swing ride similar to this last year. I used to love those swings, but this particular one flew super high. I could not imagine being stuck 300 feet in the air.
I’m glad she was better after that ride! I get panic attacks myself and have a lot of phobias and I know how it feels to be stuck in a situation that you are absolutely terrified of. Kudos to the husband for being the help she needed.
I went on one of them but it was windy and the chairs rocked and it was only pieces of metal rope holding us.
P.S my sister made me go on it and I am afraid of heights

a ride at carowinds in charlotte nc called the exact same thing as this (windseeker) has broken down at the top like this many times yet carowinds still has it open

This is the ride at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, CA. They tore it down a few years back. Too many problems

I got stuck upside down in the air on the claw ride at an amusement park when the power shut down, scared the living crap out of me, thought I was gonna fall out

I remember this. King's Island did not expect that lmao I love Wind Seeker though. Very calming and great to go on at night.

Omg the sane thing happend to me in may on a ride called the wind seeker at Canada's Wonderland. I did it because I was scared also. We got stuck at the top for only 15-20 minutes though.
