The child was riding the Haunted Mine Drop, which drops riders "110-feet inside the dark depths of Iron Mountain in what feels like a free-fall.” Walt Stowe, a spokesman for the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office, said that his agency is investigating the accident and opted to not give any additional information, according to the outlet.
I can’t imagine the pain and horror that little girl went through just before her death. How very sad.

Gross negligence on the part of owner, for failing to provide shoulder belts. Moreover, how irresponsible to allow a six year old to ride, primarily on her parents side. It's called comparative negligence in legal terms. More accurately, child abuse.
The fact that I left 4 days before this happened is so nervracking rip to the little girl she did not deserve this

@@bunnygirl3179 I was a tall 6 year old. We’ll have to see if she met the requirements for the ride, if the operators properly secured her initially and if the adult she was with allowed her to get on.
@@chloewatson8275 The minimum height requirement varies per park. Manufacturers give a recommendation, and can give some advice but it's ultimately the parks responsibility to uphold these rules. Why in the world would a parent let a 6 year old child on a ride like that?! I don't understand this. May the child rest in peace.
Exactly!!! Rest In Peace 🙏🏾🙏🏾
for real...so tiny and i'm sure the reason she flew out was because her weight was so light and that ride goes down sooo fast so she flew so sad
Because unfortunately, some people aren’t suited to be parents and fail to protect and teach their kids any better
Because dad signed the waver without reading it... "Naaa she'll be ok.. she can handle this. It's only lasts 3-4 secs" An extremely unfortunate reality has probably airshow hit home for the father. I feel absolutely horrible for the family and hope tht this is not really the case of this tragedy.

Just from the video footage, I can't, for the life of me, imagine why a 6 year old would be on this ride. Breaks my heart everytime I hear stories like this.

This is absolutely devastating. As a mother to a 9 year old girl, I can’t even fathom what the family is going thru. Why wasn’t there an age or height & weight restriction? What kind of employee thought it was a good idea to let a human that tiny go on? Prayers to the family 😔
I was 5 when I went on this ride. I was part the height restriction.
"What employee thought it was a good idea to let a human that tiny go on?".
More like "What *PARENTS* thought it was a good idea to let a human that tiny go on?".
@@macman975 both the parents & the employee.
Lol there is a height and weight restriction, but 1. Unless you’re obese you don’t have to worry about it.
2. I’m assuming she was forced by her mother and forcing the staff to go in the ride, when she was most likely under the height requirement. It’s possible but unlikely for it to be a seatbelt failure. We need to wait until Glenwood Caverns releases a statement on this after the investigation. As an amusement park enthusiast I can understand how you as a mother can be scared, but as long as your daughter meets the height restriction of a ride she goes on, it’s fine. I’ve been riding roller coasters since I was 6 and can easily tell you this is most likely a child forced to ride the ride when she’s too short, causing her to die. Mind you it’s a 1 in 24 million chance of being hurt, and an even higher chance of dying at an amusement park. I hope you understand.
Also as I reread your comment: The child’s mother was most likely a Karen, barking at the ride ops to take her on the ride. If this turns out on what I think happens, then the ride ops will most likely, wait- lemme rephrase that, WILL be fired. Then again it’s most likely not a seatbelt failure. But it’s not out of the question.
oh my god as a father of daughters i am just filled with such sorrow for that family & that poor little girl who had her whole life infront of her. Age & Weight Limit must be strictly enforced globally on anything like this. Life is so precious. RIP

Absolutely True!
Exactly
This ride has a height requirement of 46•”. Average 6 year old height is 42”-49”….
they need to start considering a person's weight, seriously
My son is 4 years old and 46”
We had a similar ride at my amusement park (it has since been removed) I remember being 13-15 and STILL not being tall enough for the ride. It was shorter AND had a harness unlike this ride. I’m pretty sure the height requirement was 58-60”
Baffles me that a 6 year old was considered tall enough for this ride, or anybody of that height regardless of age.
I was tall and thin as a kid, lap bars were the only thing on most rides. I never felt safe! Always hooked my arms under the bar because of the gap.
Sorry that this happened my thoughts and prayers with the family ❤️
It’s almost like the Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I rode it back in 2018, and even I think that ride would be a little intense for a 6-year old.
Except Disney does care about the safety of its guests and regularly maintains their rides
at least Disney has a lot of futures for safety even on Tower of Terror / Guardians of the Galaxy's if you do anything shady they see it and take action
But Disney have artificial beach whose lakes have hidden alligators that have killed
And Disney Cm’s actually stop and measure the child before they get in line or before they get into the cart.
@@dreamer6508 yeah it’s called nature ❓
I live in colorado and have been on this ride and tbh it felt safe and it was really fun, but the reason of death was not the safety of the ride it was the operators malfunction

Why did the parents let her go on a ride like this ?
And did she really meet the height and weight requirements…?
Right
Weight is not a problem unless she was obese. Height? Yes. I believe she was under or around the height requirement of 46 inches. It is possible but unlikely for it to be a seatbelt failure.
@@xthunder_164 no weight matters most of the time the opposite way. At a water park a few years ago a child was decapitated on a ride because him and 2 other girls didn’t weigh enough to keep the right from slipping up.

I experienced the same EXACT thing on universal studios jurassic park ride when i was a 13yo kid. All they have is a long bar that goes across all of the seats. So if one person is huge and youre small, youre screwed. That last drop was intense, and i legit thought i was gonna fall out. I dont know how no other kid has ever felt the same way.

Six years old was waaaay too young to be on a ride like this. Poor baby. May she rest in peace, and Angels watch over her. 🙏
Why would you let a 6 year old ride it
So let me get this straight...
A parent knew it was nicknamed the Scariest Ride in America, seen that it's a high velocity drop ride with pretty much only a bar holding you in the seat, looked at this rough 3-4 foot 40lb child and thought this was a good idea?
I'm really sorry for these parents loss, truly...but come on.
Exactly. This ride is perfectly safe for those that it was designed for. Not for a 6 year old girl.
It's like if this wasn't on UA-cam you wouldn't even believe this was possible how can people be so stupid
My 10 year old daughter and I rode this earlier this summer. Scariest experience at this park BY FAR
“We don’t put shoulder restraints on the side of your head, which makes it a little bit more scary, a little more exciting” THEY FORGOT A little bit more dangerous 😌 I.D.I.O.T.S, RIP to that young one 🖤
It’s probably the ride ops fault. It’s not the seatbelts fault. If the seat built is on properly then you will be fine. I think the kid was too short to ride it and/or wiggled out of her seat. Or maybe her parents bullied the ride ops into letting her on the ride. It sadly happens more then you think
disney has a ride exactly like this.... and they dont use shoulder harnesses.

I have been a ride operator myself and she probably wasn’t tall enough and were standing on her tip toes to cheat the ride operators. It happens all the time and is usually encouraged by their parents.
Exactly
Usually encouraged by the lack of care or insight by the machine operator
@@cosseybomb ive never seen a ride operator encourage it. Ive only ever seen ride operators deny riders to be on the safe side.
I've always seen ride operators follow the rules. They're only workers. A 6 yr old is the parents responsibility
Or put extra socks or fabric in their shoes to make them seem taller.
even tho a 6 year old SHOULD NOT be on that ride, "a little bit more scary and a little bit more excitement" shouldn't be worth more than a death.
it's both of their faults.
1st question 🙋♂️ as an investigator

why would you think to put a 6 year old on that ride.
Bruh, who the hell allowed a 6 year old to even ride this? This clearly was designed for adults, especially the flimsy seat belts
probably the parents I remember my parents would force me to ride stuff I didnt want to as a kid. they would even talk the employees into letting me ride it. but its mostly because they didnt want to leave me alone while they waited in line. besides I cant imagine a 6 year wanting to ride anything like that unless they were convinced or didnt have a choice.
@@kevenwoods7939 There's a possibility she wanted to ride it, six year olds by nature just aren't advanced enough to evaluate risks vs rewards the way adults can and it makes them (to an extent) fearless. Hence why it's the responsibility of adults to keep their children safe. Even when it means saying "no" to something they really want to do. Better for your kid to mope around and pout for a few hours than for them to be taken from you in a body bag after something like this happens.
@@limmiedee7405 Yeah, I would have either not gone on the ride or let a family member/friend take her for a while while i went on the ride, at least your kid wont die in a ride not made for literal 6 year olds.

Technically, it’s not just made for adults. I went on this ride when I was seven, and came out in one piece. Am guessing it’s the operators fault because when I went on it, I felt locked in and secure. So am guessing the operator did not make it tight enough and probably cause the girl to fall out.

they should have consulted someone about how small a person can be to ride this without all the necessary safety equipment on board.
