Eclipse, please try out dummies vs noobs!!! It's an entirely skill based game that HEAVILY relies on teamwork where you have to fight against alot of noobs (and trust me, every individual noob is a force to be reckoned with) The only takeaway might be that it's very bad at teaching new players how to survive, and I myself only learned by having a friend help me in a priv server. Hopefully that does not take away too much from the experience, though
11:04 it's also because some stuff can do AOE , like howitzer. Ofc the auto tank don't have that but if it had then shooting directly infront of you would deal damage to your own tank. It's also because shooting on stuff like buildings can destroy them , so if you see inside a building and there is nothing you can still shoot it to destroy it (if there are a lot of buildings making a wall, you'll want to destroy one so your vehicles can go trough.)
6:50 basically, enemies have a set amount of units they will spawn with and/or get reinforced with. BUT, if the enemy ai has outposts OR a headquarters, then they can theoretically spawn an infinite amount of units. basically, headquarters and outposts can ressuply and spawn in a unit in a turn, but can only do one of those in a turn. supply depots can only ressuply, so if they only have those and you don't have a turn limit, then playing defensively and building up a massive army can be a good choice if you're struggling
Yo Eclipse, i recommend playing Isle. Its a unique survival game which has a unique way to use weapons like guns and melee, click on enemies to shoot, like, the gun only works if you click on the enemy. the main objective is to escape an island you were left stranded on as a prisoner. Youve got little time (1 day) until mercenaries arrive, saying that these mercenaries are unfair to fight solo ESPECIALLY if youre new. Anyways this is mostly a trial and error game.
Since we are on the topic of noobs, i recommend 2 games. Defend the Statue ( not a tower defence) and Dummy's vs Noobs, both can be overwhealming at first, but, if you can surpass that barrier both are great games. Thanks for the video Eclipse.
out of all possible games eclipse could have been reccomended, noobs on combat was NOT on my list, but it’s a welcome surprise. First of all, the amount of enemies as far as I know DO increase with the amount of players, but it’s quite hard to see with the fog of war, so I can’t blame you for that mistake. Now about the fact that there is no music, you are wrong about that, but i don’t blame you being so. There is music in the game, but only on certain missions/campaigns, and you’d have to play for a hot minute to reach said stages, so i can see how you missed it, given the limited amount of time you pir into playing. About the radio sound effect, it’s quite jarring for me as well, and as a day one player, I can assure you that it has been that same sound effect ever since radio was added in the game. Radio is quite an ignored tool between the devs right now, and as far as i can remember, the last time it actually received some love was the new seaplane troop upgrade being added. And it’s honestly become quite funny for me and my friends playing on tryhard/rigged mode, hearing the radio sound effect, and getting our troops vaporized by a gathering of rocket trucks. Though I do agree that it becomes a nuisance to listen to at some point. Now, regarding hotkeys/keybinds, they DO exist, just that you have to do quite a bit of digging to actually know about them, and also the fact that they’re still a WiP, so the amount of available keybinds at the moment are very limited. I think it was the number keys to select an attack, and Q to deselect a unit. Everything else though, has no keybind unfortunately. Now, about firing at random blank squares, you actually couldn’t do that before, though that was changed for the exact same reason you said in the video; shooting at unseen squares you KNOW where an enemy is. Lastly, about the tutorial, I completely agree with you. When I started playing this game, I was running around like a headless chicken, not knowing around 90% of the game mechanics such as you being able to move on roads faster with units on wheels, and being able to move offroad with halftrack units. The tutorial was revamped quite a long while ago, and most developing as of now is going to new campaigns, so the tutorial is being shoved to the sidelines as of now, which is quite frankly disappointing, because i can assure you that joining your first game with the very basics and getting absolutely demolished by the enemy (rip to our more unfortunate people not having a clue) ruins the new player experience for some, and makes them stop playing. Do take everything i’ve said with a grain of salt though, because i’m just a player of this game, not an insider or developer. That’s all, have a good day/night, and thank you for reading through all of that.
Finally noobs in combat is getting the spotlight, it’s one of my favorite games and is criminally underrated. Also there are keybinds. If you click 1, it’ll select your first attack, and so on. And if you click it again, it cancels your attack
Great video Eclipse, was waiting for when you'd review this. Regarding music, an update on roblox awhile ago broke a lot of it, however later levels do fix this problem. You are also able to upgrade your own units from the xp you gain in the loadout. For a lot of units, its not simply a straight upgrade, as their cost increases, as well as many other attributes that may be undesirable for certain levels (you can always choose the un upgraded). Have a good day!
I really like the video, I especially liked how you didn't beg us to subscribe and said it was our choice. Finally somebody who doesn't beg, thank you for that lol
nice seeing a game I personally love get covered by a big youtuber, for a future video id suggest you play a game thats still in demo called Scorched Earth - whenever they open for testing again. It's a game I'd compare to the battlefield series, having destructible environments or whatever; I think not enough people play it which is weird because of how much effort is already in it.
One of the older contributors, here. It's very pleasant to see a YTer I've recently discovered (and like) to stumble upon Noobs In Combat, a game I've known very early in development and have created the first user-made maps for. The team, including myself, always appreciate hearing critique and reviews outside of the Discord. It did seem the lengthy gameplay wasn't as interesting to you as, say, an RTS game, taking from this video. I'm sure the tutorial level, itself, showed you that, and 2.5 hours definitely won't take you to the mid-game. However, we still really appreciate the transparency in your video. If you wish to know more or even want to play a round with us, we have a community Discord that I would recommend contacting any insider through. Again, thank you. 😁
I think this has been said before but the game does have some key binds. 1 for first attack, 2 for second attack, etc etc. I do think the developers should have noted this in the tutorial though, the game never states these key binds exist even though they make gameplay so much more smooth.
awsome , never tough you would play this game. Also you can use points to increase the tix you get from starting the game , so you can have 600 tix in the start to get more than 2 units. You can also buy units spot to get a bigger loadout and stuff...
Honestly a better comparison of noobs in combat is that it’s like advance wars as most of the mechanics in noobs in combat is stuff that’s present in advance wars but it’s still cool to see something like advance wars in Roblox
3:10 for anyone wondering, you don't actually get to move less on diagonals, it can just feel that way because you have to count left then up, or right then up. you don't move in a straight line diagonally since it's grid based
i wasn't expecting you to review this game, but im glad you (sort of) enjoyed it. The radio sound effect comes from the Airstrike gear, a gear that released on the catalog in 2012. It works for what it is, but it can get obnoxious if you or your enemy uses radio more than a few times within a short timeframe. and i know i sound like a broken record because everyone has been saying this, but keybinds & music do exist. However, i personally dont use the keybinds often.
Note: NiC kinda lacks coop, because map design. Almost all maps will put a bunch of buildings, hills, trees, or just plain distance between you and your teammates, that you can't ever give them a helping hand. Easy way to test: *How long does it take you to realise that your teammate left 3 turns ago?* Also, your vehicles are way less safe when fighting diagonally than when aligned to grid, BTs and ATGMs can get some diabolical shots on target like that, and I kinda like it. They abandoned the batte academy in test place 😭 It has WWII units only, but with increased global weapon range, which is really, really nice.
Related to the empty square arguement, (10:47) In the later missions of the game, where ships are introduced, there's also NAVAL MINES. These are not visible and must be used in conjunction with specific units that have perks in order to locate and destroy them. You don't get to directly find them, though, and there's also submarines which function identical to the naval mines. Traps also exist, although I don't think there's any way to disarm them other than using the sapper troop though.
You mentioned it is like fire emblem (true), but it is actually more of a roblox advance wars. There has yet to be a roblox fire emblem and i would make it if i knew how to code, but i ain't doing allat. Anyways hope one day we can get a good roblox fire emblem.
im loving the good roblox games ur picking recently, perhaps this is a good way of transitioning into different game genres? keep it up eclipse and love noobs in combat. would be awesome if u played any of the following : Decaying Winter Airship Assault Contact A-888
10:56 you shoot at empty sqaures to either raise ur morale or reveal cloaked units it could also be used to avoid hitting ur own units with heavy artillery splash
I've been playing this game on and off for two years, and at one point had every unit in the game (new gem units I'm still grinding for) but this game's main strength in my opinion is replayability. there's so many strategies, units and maps, and they all mix really well. I would definitely recommend playing this game with friends, it's a lot easier and a lot more fun.
@@nuulcoolpro "wait eclipse disagrees with me i have to agree with him to not get put into ddos" and "eclipse sucks for disagreeing with my opinion" is like the duality of man
@@thechorri2198 i used to think the boring battlegrounds was the peak of cinematic visuals and "easy to learn but hard to master" combat mechanics, but eclipse has opened my eyes to a world of project smash which has clearly superior game feel and much more thought put into all the movesets, I won't say what they did correct though, because I got bored to hell playing it but it's definitely better.
10:50 because some stuff can actually be on the square. for example, hidden mines that you can either shoot to destroy, or walk onto and take damage. on some maps there are prespawned mines that are always in the same place, but will also have, for example, a minelayer, that can spawn mines seperately.

On the topic of music in the game. Most often the moment in which music starts playing, is when there is a boss like enemy approaching, a big wave is coming or a second phace of a map is starting. In those cases the music is quite nice but somewhat terrifying because it is not a good sign.
I am a veteran in this game although i did not come across this game randomly my freind tought me this game i eventually became better than him and beated him it was a really cool game i feel like ive just Maxxed out already if stopped playing this game alot glad i could see a newer player enjoy it.
also about the co-op part of the game, it does get a bit harder with more players, not by making the enemies stronger but by making the objective itself more difficult for exemple needing more outposts to capture (P.s am not sure you will even see this but it is what it is ig)
Eclipse, have you played Decaying Winter yet? Its quite fun all you really need to know is you loot, then wave defense and pressing K shows you the controls, everything else you figure out while playing
7:31 It depends on the map, later on hard or extreme difficulty infinite hoards of enemies are the case, usually it's not that bad, but for solo players it adds considerable difficulty, especially since if you add bots in your team they are rather useless
@@larsdemeyer1006 real on lethal strike i try to re capture enemy outpost but ai just fire howitzer at enemy outpost and my grunt just got pinned down🥲
As a noobs in combat player for 2 years i can say that you did the review pretty well its not all good mabye you could of went into the perks a little more but still this is good
Been playing this game since release. I love playing it with friends, but I must admit that the community created maps are a bit too large and time consuming which is nice if you want a challenge but it eventually becomes just a massive war of attrition
There are a fair bit of tower defence games with no gambling though! TDX is one, but there are some things that I don’t like about it. For some reason you can’t choose what map you want or the difficulty, rather you have to sit and wait for it to appear on a screen which randomly cycles through a bunch of different ones. Other than that is is pretty alright
i recommend playing multicrew tank combat. it's a pretty well made vehicle combat simulator basically war thunder except players control each part of a tank. like you have one person driving, one person gunning, one person loading, one person spotting enemies. it's basically war thunder but relying on crew coordination rather than individual skill, and it's very fun.
It's awesome until you get to the eastern front map that is completely urban and requires you to destroy tank factories in a given time. It's stupidly hard and unfair, infantry units can suddenly pop up to call mortar/artillery strikes which often damage you greatly because of how many infantry radio units are around.
Eclipse. You should try out Medieval RTS, It's kind of similar to Noobs in combat but medieval, more strategic, and able to freely move your army around. I'm sure you'll enjoy playing the game (as long as there's no rushers or aggressive players.) AND... there are tutorials/tips in the game that can help out if you do get lost
Hey, thought it was cool review and there are some things to note, music does exist ingame but it kinda got nuked by Roblox, shooting at empty squares also increases morale and the attacks are keybined to the numbers on your keyboard. Thanks for reviewing a really cool game.
Cool to see you make a vid on this game! My only problem with the game i have almost completed everything is that on high difficulties the game sometimes feels rigged but thats alright
the interesting mechanic that this game has is its morale. if a unit takes out another unit, it gets morale, if the moral is full, you deal more damage and have extra health on that unit. if the unit gets damaged ,or any ally dies nearby, the moral goes down. if a infantry type units morale reaches 0, it cant move next turn, however, if a vehice type units morale reaches zero, it surrenders the vehicle, meaning your opponent can effectivly steal your vehicle before destroying it.
Well, there IS "cloacked" effect which makes your unit invisible. Also if one units kills enough enemies, it will get veterancy which buffs its stats. This will be really handy because some units like SPAAG couldnt oneshot UFOs from april fools update without veterancy, but with veterancy they could do that
9:40 how the keybinds work are, you select the unit by clicking on it, then you can use keybinds to use an action with that unit. for example, you click on a supply truck, then press 1 to use the ressuply instead of having to click ont he action. you do still have to click on the tile you want to use the resupply on though
You can cancel an attack that you've selected by pressing q before you choose your target instead of clicking elsewhere to cancel so you dont accidentally waste ammo.
Heck yeah, I loved this game! It reminded me of the time I used to play advance wars on the DS (same devs as Fire Emblem), and well, since so many mechanics are similar, I'd say it's safe to assume that they were inspired by this game.

The only takeaway might be that it's very bad at teaching new players how to survive, and I myself only learned by having a friend help me in a priv server. Hopefully that does not take away too much from the experience, though
That game is also incredible, insanely underrated and can either be really difficult or really easy, depends on map and teamwork
Made by the same developer of HELLMET, it was the earlier project
This!
@@devnandannair2336 helmet is insane, just can't find people to play with
11:04 it's also because some stuff can do AOE , like howitzer. Ofc the auto tank don't have that but if it had then shooting directly infront of you would deal damage to your own tank. It's also because shooting on stuff like buildings can destroy them , so if you see inside a building and there is nothing you can still shoot it to destroy it (if there are a lot of buildings making a wall, you'll want to destroy one so your vehicles can go trough.)
oh my god you actually played this game, this is one of my favourites♥♥♥

the community itself is --insane-- wonderful! they're welcoming everyone who's new in the game!
The AI can only spawn units in certain maps.

Anyways this is mostly a trial and error game.
i'd suggest hiding the tips and just leaving the game recommendation, kind of kills off the trial and error a bit.
@@frankaoooooooooooooooooooooooo 👌
You know Eclipse HATES trial and error games and prefers tutorials?
seconding this, once you get a good run going its like crack
@@devnandannair2336 gotta give stuff a try, he said noobs in combat isn't his type of game but he sees mfs enjoying it.
Since we are on the topic of noobs, i recommend 2 games. Defend the Statue ( not a tower defence) and Dummy's vs Noobs, both can be overwhealming at first, but, if you can surpass that barrier both are great games. Thanks for the video Eclipse.
NO WAY I RECOMMENDED THIS LIKE 7 VIDS AGO AND HE's ACTUALLY PLAYING IT LETS GOO!!!

out of all possible games eclipse could have been reccomended, noobs on combat was NOT on my list, but it’s a welcome surprise.
8:44 Nuh uh Roblox radio chatter is the best thing ever.
Finally noobs in combat is getting the spotlight, it’s one of my favorite games and is criminally underrated. Also there are keybinds. If you click 1, it’ll select your first attack, and so on. And if you click it again, it cancels your attack
It's not really underrated.
It is absolutely not underrated.
@@Supersquid_11The game has on average 500-600 players. It is underrated.
@@t_gabiuel6058That is not underrated at all, for the amount of content and playtime the game has there's no reason it should surpass that.
It's awesome to see my favorite UA-camr explaining what noobs in combat are in a positive way.
awsome , never tough you would play this game.
I love the small touches with the editing, like playing Fire Emblem music when you mentioned Fire Emblem
3:10 for anyone wondering, you don't actually get to move less on diagonals, it can just feel that way because you have to count left then up, or right then up. you don't move in a straight line diagonally since it's grid based
10:52 shooting at empty squares is an advanced trick to increase unit morale
Try out "Dummies VS Noobs" if you can

very good recommendation though i genuinely hope that the community just stopped being very unwelcoming towards new members
i wasn't expecting you to review this game, but im glad you (sort of) enjoyed it.
Easy way to test: *How long does it take you to realise that your teammate left 3 turns ago?*
Also, your vehicles are way less safe when fighting diagonally than when aligned to grid, BTs and ATGMs can get some diabolical shots on target like that, and I kinda like it.
They abandoned the batte academy in test place 😭
It has WWII units only, but with increased global weapon range, which is really, really nice.
Nic is such a underrated game, if your a fan of strategy games like chess I highly recommend this game 8.5/10
Related to the empty square arguement, (10:47)
In the later missions of the game, where ships are introduced, there's also NAVAL MINES. These are not visible and must be used in conjunction with specific units that have perks in order to locate and destroy them. You don't get to directly find them, though, and there's also submarines which function identical to the naval mines.
Traps also exist, although I don't think there's any way to disarm them other than using the sapper troop though.
Glad to see Eclipse find games on Roblox that he can find joy in playing!
You mentioned it is like fire emblem (true), but it is actually more of a roblox advance wars. There has yet to be a roblox fire emblem and i would make it if i knew how to code, but i ain't doing allat. Anyways hope one day we can get a good roblox fire emblem.
im loving the good roblox games ur picking recently, perhaps this is a good way of transitioning into different game genres? keep it up eclipse and love noobs in combat.
would be awesome if u played any of the following :
Decaying Winter
Airship Assault
Contact A-888
10:56 you shoot at empty sqaures to either raise ur morale or reveal cloaked units it could also be used to avoid hitting ur own units with heavy artillery splash
A decaying winter video would be cool to see, definitely with friends tho public servers are hell

10:50 because some stuff can actually be on the square. for example, hidden mines that you can either shoot to destroy, or walk onto and take damage. on some maps there are prespawned mines that are always in the same place, but will also have, for example, a minelayer, that can spawn mines seperately.
fyi: there is keybinds, 1 is for the first attack, 2 is for the second attack, so on and so forth. there are currently no keybinds for movement tho.
As a new Noobs in combat completionist (only played for 2 months as of now, fully completed the game and I love it!) I do appreciate your support.

On the topic of music in the game. Most often the moment in which music starts playing, is when there is a boss like enemy approaching, a big wave is coming or a second phace of a map is starting.
In those cases the music is quite nice but somewhat terrifying because it is not a good sign.
I am a veteran in this game although i did not come across this game randomly my freind tought me this game i eventually became better than him and beated him it was a really cool game i feel like ive just Maxxed out already if stopped playing this game alot glad i could see a newer player enjoy it.
also about the co-op part of the game, it does get a bit harder with more players, not by making the enemies stronger but by making the objective itself more difficult for exemple needing more outposts to capture
(P.s am not sure you will even see this but it is what it is ig)

7:31 It depends on the map, later on hard or extreme difficulty infinite hoards of enemies are the case, usually it's not that bad, but for solo players it adds considerable difficulty, especially since if you add bots in your team they are rather useless
Bots arent only useless they also block you and like to destroy you with howitzers

Most early game campaigns don't have music. When you get higher up especially in community maps they will all have music.
Can you do a video on the game Better Discovery? Perhaps even a series….
i recommend playing multicrew tank combat. it's a pretty well made vehicle combat simulator basically war thunder except players control each part of a tank. like you have one person driving, one person gunning, one person loading, one person spotting enemies. it's basically war thunder but relying on crew coordination rather than individual skill, and it's very fun.
Thanks for reviewing a really cool game.
fake photons
Scuffed projectia

Maybe have multiple different radio sound effects, just to vary it up a bit. Morse code could also work well.
yessir. been playing long enough to have the only unobtainable unit in the game. 10 nugget grind was worth it
Most hard campaigns in the later game have music.
I absolutely love this game but the problem is that it gets too ridiculous since they can literally destroy you without even being able to touch them
The radio SFX is pulled from the Airstrike gear in the Roblox Avatar Marketplace
An idea I would have for the radio sound is to have them be randomized and they could probably also have variations in pitch and other stuff
