Good Show John! Were you able to track down the noise?

The largest culprit is the gas boiler next door. Second was their fridge which now has ferrites on it. Unfortunately the boiler will have to wait for their landlord to replace the pump on it.

The TinySA with attenuators should work well.

I've missed the request, guess I need one now as well.
Wanting to track some 80m noise. It went away for a few hours but has come back unfortunately.

It's a handy little device. Great value for the money.

Is the TinySA reliable? I want to make sure that it will last a good while. What attracts me to it is the fact that they are not insanely expensive in the same way that typical spectrum analyzers are. These may be useful for finding unauthorized devices like tracking devices and other bugs. By unauthorized I mean not necessarily illegal but a device that was placed without permission as most tracking devices would be. I imagine the majority of the devices would fall into TinySA's detection range of frequencies. Anything outside of that will need an amplified signal to get too much further especially seeing as how some WiFi does not penetrate walls too well. That is most likely the key reason why many cell phones work at around 900 MHz. Too high and you lose your signal when you go into a building with too much metal or a tunnel. Or if you live in a place where there are a lot of bridges the metal in them may in rare instances cause problems with reception. Now when it comes to blocking a signal I don't just blindly assume that a metal box or piece of foil will stop it from getting out. An example is that I use a Faraday pouch for my key fob so the signal is not always available. One way I test to see if it works is take it into the vehicle _with me_ so I don't lock it in if it works. Then I see if the vehicle will start. It should not start with it in there. Of course I knew it would work because it was designed to do that. Now I did try the metal box and aluminum foil and neither of them worked even the slightest bit. I am slightly annoyed since I wasted a bit of foil that should have been keeping food fresh but I feel good knowing I proved that myth wrong.

My TinySA is still as reliable as the day I received it. I would recommend you also get some attenuators as strong signals could damage it.
I'm afraid I have not looked into Faraday Cages/Pouches so can't advise you on them.

Hi is there any sniffer i can use for ham operator to locate 24MHz interference

The TinySA should be capable of scanning on that frequency. You may need signal attenuators when you get close to a source.

I used "VideoPad Video Editor" the speed playback setting is in there.

I don’t understand why you are walking around with an SA worrying about a tiny signal the fridge is giving off, in a band no one cares about.

The signals shown were only examples and the TinySA is capable of scanning a very wide range of bands to show all signals that could be raising the noise floor.
Also the examples while being focused on the 40 meter band actually showed one os the harmonics that was easily visible further harmonics from the same source were affecting many of my HF bands and there were also some that went into the VHF/UHF range.
The idea is to track as many spurious signals as possible and eliminate what can be eliminated in order to lower the noise floor of every band you use as much as possible.
