I only have one Husky, a 371xp so I don't have any of their .325 but it seems all their saws run .050. So far so good I like it. Thanks for dropping in!
I was an Emergency Service volunteer and we used 251s to cut through Australian gum trees (we had a couple bigger 361s, but not all our vehicles had them). We'd clear fallen trees and branches off roads and peoples houses. Never had any issues with overheat, i used to do all the first line maintenance on them and they held up well, even in 40C + (over 100F) temperatures. Sounds like it's running aliright
Cool deal Bud, thanks for the input. Those little 25 series saws put in some work. I've got a 250 and it's a fun and handy saw. I like this 261 though, seems like it will pair with my 461 good, it's got a full weight 32" bar and isn't too fun to lug around.
I bought a brand new 2024 Stihl 261 with 20” bar. Mine is the manual carb model, no Mtronic. I wanted to be able to tune the saw if I wanted to. So, anyways. I put an hour meter on it right out of the box, and then I began the break in process. I am using 32:1 mix, and the saw has been Re-tuned on 32:1. After about 1.2 hours the saw started coming to life a little bit better. Stihl actually said full break in can take up to 20 hours on these saws. Anyways, the 261 is a monster. Mine is hitting 11.5K in the cut on 12” pine trees I really like it. I highly recommend it. I want to suggest anyone with a 261, or anyone buying a 261, allow the saw time to break in properly. When mine was brand new brand new, it bogged, and wanted to die in the cut. But that was at 0.0 hours on it. Now it runs completely different! After break-in, these saws are insane. I use a MotoMix fuel that has been converted to 32:1 mix ratio. I add some Honda HP2 oil to my MotoMix. 😂 anyways! I love it!!
That's awesome, I run 40:1 HP2 and 90 rec fuel in all my saws. I love this saw, after buying it I put my 2 271s up for sale and got rid of them. 250 is on the chopping block next lol!
@@DacaTimberworks. That’s awesome! HP2 works great. Man, if you haven’t tried MotoMix give it a go. It is a Distilled Allkylate fuel, so it is odorless, and has no sulfur in it. So it doesn’t make your clothes stink. It smells amazing! The 50:1 is not great, which is why I add hp2 to it. Anyways! Awesome response. Thanks. Also what is a rec fuel?
Glad you noticed! I'm kind of rough on my saws because I don't want to lose the length of the wood. 271 even though same cc can't keep up. I normally noodle with 70cc saws and was surprised how well this saw did. Thanks for dropping in I really appreciate it!
Love that 050 gauge, puts less strain on the engine

@@videocardzrule354 I'll have to look into it bud, thanks!
Seemed to be working well for you. Tough cuts for any saw. Nice video.
