Hiya Gary being a lefty I’ve always been tempted by a Chinese copy because of the range you can get but there’s so many horror stories about them it put me off don’t know now that is a stunning copy and sounds amazing have a lovely weekend mate 👍👍👍

Hi Gary, that's a very cool guitar indeed.Sounds great and looks stunning. Back when it looked like a proper Gibson was something I'd never have the funds for I got tempted more than once to click on a Chibson but I just never quite dared do it because of the stories about some of the real heaps of the proverbial people had received. I'm sure there must be plenty of good Chibsons around though, which causes another problem when buying a used Gibson. A lot of used Gibsons are being sold by someone who also got it used so they are not trying to deceive you but they might have been deceived themselves a year or two back. It's all a bit of a minefield.
Hi Rod :-) There's a few tell-tale signs which I'll alert you to this weekend but the main four Gibson v Chibson features are a) slotted bridge posts. Gibsons will either have smooth rounded posts or Allen key posts. b) On the back of the headstock you'll see some visible 'wings' tacked on to each side. c) Is the serial number too crisp? You can always check the numbers on the Guitar Dater Project. d) Scarf joints. As far as I'm aware Gibson never made a guitar with a scarf joint. Hope this is helpful. Cheers, Gary :-)
Hi Gary, The 335 Your playing here sounds Good mate, better than I thought it would! But compared to a Real Gibson 335, Of which I have 3 different Types and Models including Gibson Bigby Tremelo Arm and each one of mine has several Different Appointments including the Vos Selector Switches. some of these Chinese copy's are very good i have lp that's a super guitar as is this 335 very nice sounding with some very good playing not sure of the headstock does not do it for me
Hi David :-) The headstock was inspired a million years ago by the Gibson Barney Kessek signature. He reckoned it helped with tuning stability. I doubt it TBH. Cheers, Gary :-)
