I love the way Chris was so easy going with the guys and had all the time in the world to sit and chat, when you can guarantee there were dozens of people that would have wanted him for interviews etc.
Do more of these spotlight episodes guys! You guys knocked this episode out of the park and you can feel the excitement and passion involved while recording this episode
That was an incredible episode. Loved hearing your stories as well as Chris from IWC's take on the design process and of course Evelyne's appearance was awesome. Can't wait to have my hands on the new Ingenieur models.
I enjoyed Chris, but when Ms. Genta came on, my gosh it got so much better. I knew she'd be awesome because she was always great on Scottish Watches. She's so charming and the insight into Gerald Genta was incredible. Great episode, thank you for sharing.
Yes guys pls do this again. Lots of knowledge and inspiration after watching and a great insight. This is making my (and i think most of us here) watch collecting journey step up a notch!
One of the coolest videos to date! Love the studio chats but the amount of access and information you’re able to provide with the spotlight format was just superb. Would love to see more of these as long as we still get the 3-vulgar-chaps-talking-shit-at-a-table eps also.
Great episode guys... to see not the only the new watches, but also to hear the history and meet the makers is effing amazing.. more, more, more please..
This might be one of the best watch videos I have ever seen. So much inside information about this iconic design from the brand who is producing it. And as a cherry on the cake inside information, from the mouth of such an amazing lady, about THE iconic designer! Great job guys! It was just great!!
This was one of the best videos you’ve ever done. At first, I thought I’ll just watch part of the episode to see George’s excitement but wow how the time flew by.
Great video I’m sold Can’t wait to get one….and not expecting that to be easy Look forward to seeing in person in Geneva later this week I’m torn but borderline preferring the Aqua (aka teal) dial for it’s vibrancy Love the tapered bracelet and finishing
What a treat having not only the IWC CEO but the wife of Gerald Genta, to hear how he designed Really interesting. Thanks for making this. Best video to date.
The perfect video as I’m dealing with jet lag. Only five minutes in and it’s fucking brilliant. The quality of the editing is outstanding. Whatever you’re paying Marcus it’s not enough.
Ordered 5 hours ago. Already advised a relatively long lead in time. Hopefully not 12+ months as per Rolex GMT (still waiting 9 months in).... Further more I hope the grey marketeers do not destroy it for current IWC owners.
This is the first episode I've seen from you guys and it was so fabulous I had to go back and watch the whole catalogue! So, hearkening back to the question from the first episode, on my 20th later this year - the IWC Ingenieur 40 is about to be my first watch and I think it'll be what gets me into the watch world! Thanks again for the incredible episode and all the great past episodes!
What an episode! Great show guys 👍🏼 I wish you could do W&W livestream in this setup everyday of the show. Thanks for all the hard work, bringing Ms. Genta to this show was just amazing ❤ AET Rocks 🤟🏼
Guys - you have to do more of these historic episodes !!! This was Effin Awesome!!!! The interviews with Chris and Evelyn were the bomb especially the latter who gave amazing insights into her husbands design ethos and process. I retired in September and do collect watches and even try to mod my seikos BUT I will be buying a black dial 40mm steel to wear - Class Class Class episode 😅
as an IWC Ingenieur 3508 500,000 A/m (stainless case/black dial) custodian I really enjoyed this episode! The watch has been in my family from new in 1992 (with original box/papers). Acquired by my father who was an avid watch and clock collector it isn't the most valuable watch in my small collection but it's probably the most interesting.
@@currentaf8455 So the 3239 was $6600 at launch or $7600 adjusted for inflation. Adding the pseudo in house 32111 has added $250 to models in the past so I was expecting a $8000 price tag. Idk where the other $4000 came from. I guess they are just trying to make up for lost time and make it a margin leader. For now I will stick with the 3239 for literally half the price. Maybe if this didn’t have the crown guards and was more true to form I could see the value.
@@lcater9555 I don't know what "value" means, but I know what "value retention" means. So when we see second-hand prices, we'll know what the watch is actually "worth" as dictated by the marketplace.
Please lads, continue this series. That was quite interesting, engaging, and most of all insightful. On so many different levels. Georges general overall enthusiasm throughout this episode was quite entertaining. I think you fellas did a fantastic job w/ your questions. Great job. I look forward to the next one if possible. Cheers lads....
I very much enjoyed this format, meeting the CEO was great but it went to another level meeting Mrs Genta & her insights into her her husband. I would definitely enjoy more of these - the first one is a high standard so you have set a high bar to follow!
Definitely do more episodes like this chaps. You get the access that us mere mortals on the outside don't get and that's what will make your podcast stand out against all others! Great episode.
That was epic. Such a good show. On a more general note, love the show, I'm learning a hell of a lot about watches from it, but the different perspectives are what I find really interesting and it has gotten me thinking about particular watches in a way I would never have thought about them and looking at watches I never would have thought would interest me. Just brilliant. Thank you.
Amazing guys. The format of the video was brilliant. Starting with your personal history with the Ingenieur, following with the release of the watch, and moving to the deep dive into the design, the history, and the story of the watch. Beautifully transitioned over to Chris and Evelyn's interviews. The insight that we gain from this just infuses so much meaning and character into this watch. George's volcanic passion, Chris' intelligent approach to the design updates to the originals, and Evelyn's testimonials of her husband all add to the allure of this new watch. Honestly, I agree with Andrew. The older designs were a miss for me. They were incomplete forms of what the watch could be. This new Ingenieur can finally take its place beside the Nautilus and Royal Oak, not as the black sheep, but as an equal.
Truly that was an excellent episode guys. Brands really need to take note of giving this level of access to people who are genuinely going to push their brand to actual punters in an honest and authentic manner. The chats with Chris and Evelyn were amazing. Easily the best content from watches and wonders by a country mile...congrats 🎉
Awesome show. Greatly appreciated the guest appearances, hearing about the IWC design process, and some stories about Gerald Genta. Definitely do this again, great dynamic!
Amazing episode! Learning so much about watches by watching and listening to you. Please keep About Effing Time going and doing more of these amazing interviews with big guns in the watch world!
Lads, that was a champagne super fukcing nova of an episode. The chat with Mrs. Genta was quite possibly the most fascinating 15 mins I have watched ever! Hats off to George as the main conspirator of rejuvenating a historical piece part of our modern day offering. And yes, spotlighting episodes are 👍💥🍷. ☮️❤️🍾
This was the best episode! I’m glad George behaved himself when Mrs. Genta joined you. I was a little afraid. I am definitely going to get one, but I’m torn between the black and white dial.
Love love LOVE this format! How do you feel about this model versus the previous 3239 model? This isn't a huge jump from that if you compare them directly.
It‘s now clear that I‘m truly down the rabbit hole…this was such an exciting experience. Thank you so much. It‘s a great format and this was a very compelling release from my vantage point. It would be great to repeat this format in the future.
Terrific episode. Please do more of these! I thought it was good enough when you were talking to Chris, but then Evelyn Genta raised it up another level. So great to hear from two proper legends of the industry. 🙌
This makes me so happy to see the 3 of y’all drooling over this thing and just being giddy like a couple of kids on Christmas morning. When I saw this watch release i was first like holy shit they actually released it, then I was ehhh…40mm, then I saw the time+tide video and was like yep I’m back on. It is, imo, the best modern integrated bracelet watch I’ve seen so far. Not to long but still with great presence. I hope to, at least, handle one in the future because it looks superb. P.S., My only problem is that the white dial doesn’t have black sounds on the indices like the titanium one.
I love the way Chris was so easy going with the guys and had all the time in the world to sit and chat, when you can guarantee there were dozens of people that would have wanted him for interviews etc.
He’s not like most CEOs, he’s so human, so chilled. A cool chap.
Chris is a rockstar🤘
Do more of these spotlight episodes guys! You guys knocked this episode out of the park and you can feel the excitement and passion involved while recording this episode
Glad you liked it mate. This was a really cool one to make, especially because of the guests.
That was an incredible episode. Loved hearing your stories as well as Chris from IWC's take on the design process and of course Evelyne's appearance was awesome. Can't wait to have my hands on the new Ingenieur models.

LOVE IT. So happy you dedicated an entire episode on this release. IWC have knocked it out the park.
Amazing Lads...I'm seriously geekin' out! You've effin' knocked out of the park!!! Thank so much for this weeks vid.
At first I thought an over 1 hour episode on one watch… WTF, but then its one of the ones that I have really enjoyed. Well done you guys!
Yes guys pls do this again. Lots of knowledge and inspiration after watching and a great insight. This is making my (and i think most of us here) watch collecting journey step up a notch!
Why is it even a question? Do more of these spotlight episodes! Fantastic work gents!
Haha. Really glad you think so. 🙌🏻
Yes, please make more videos with this format. This one was particularly educational! Cheers
The moment I saw the new ingenieur I immediately pictured George exploding :)
Been wanting this for ages, but totally agree, price is mental
💥
This was fantastic.
With all the craziness in my Subscriptions feed today, this video absolutely wins the day
So. Damn. Good. Thank you guys for doing this. AET is on a whole other level.
Thanks for watching Joacim 🙌🏻
Definitely more episodes like this please. well done all 3 of you.

Wow guys, amazing show and a stunning watch. Ansd very pleasant to watch. Please more of this!
Already called my AD. Can't wait to get it as soon as I get more information on launch. And gents...please more spotlight episodes!
What a show!!!! Absolutely brilliant! Thanks guys ❤
Thanks for watching Neil 👍🏻
That was an incredible episode! Yes, keep spotlight episodes a staple. I'm here for it.
Boy´s this can not be topped, seriously such a great episode. great stuff and I'm soooo envious and so grateful. Cheers

George can hardly contain himself being the presence of Evelyn 😊
This has to be one of the best shows you’ve done .. totally Lit 🔥 👌🏽🥰
😂
IWC has just hit the ball out of the park ❤
That one is going to have a waiting list
Ordered 5 hours ago. Already advised a relatively long lead in time. Hopefully not 12+ months as per Rolex GMT (still waiting 9 months in).... Further more I hope the grey marketeers do not destroy it for current IWC owners.
That is a proper steal watch.
Beautiful piece.

Abso-fucking-lutely you need to do this again. Incredible episode. Thank you gents.
Yes, please do ! I learned so much about the history of IWC.

Yes definitely more spotlight shows. Great job guys. Was a pleasure to watch and feel your enthusiasm.

AET has arrived! You are all genuine and it is so refreshing to watch! Good for IWC for seeing it as well! I will be a first time IWC buyer as result!
As an engineer, I am naturally as excited as George. It looks amazing. But damn that price.
Still one of the cheaper alternatives.

Compare with the current alternative genta designs. Especially the top ones. Thats the target obviously the grey mkt will be the real deal.
IWC is just milking the Genta name for the insane markup.
Agree with Andrew that adding the polish brings it to another level and really gives it a sportier feel.

49:50 Evelyne Genta was the highlight. I love the story of how Gerald mainly talked about watches on their first date.
yes please for doing this kind of show again
One of my favorite episodes, loved the interviews especially.
Definitely, you guys should do more of these. Its an awesome insight in the world of watches.!!

Oh yes! Would love that
