  • The passerelle is a bridge that turns any regular six string guitar into a twelve note instrument that can produce sounds reminiscent of the Japanese koto or the Chinese guzheng. It can be used just for sound effects or as an entirely new instrument for composition. Listen to Kaki’s new single, "Teek" (as well as old favorites “Nails” and “Bowen Island”) to hear Kaki using the passerelle in her work.
The Kaki King Passerelle is a collaboration between Kaki King and Luthier Rachel Rosenkrantz, both innovators and free thinkers who push the boundaries of their crafts. The passerelle is made and finished by hand in Rhode Island.

I love you Kaki !! When you play these simple notes I feel they resonate with how I already feel.
I hope you record more of the moody pieces that make you float in a mystique cloud of sorrow and hope and introspection or some kind of deeper connection with nature. It is reassuring somehow. And then you brush our souls with your gentle melodies. Thank you.

Finally got one of those bridges. It's so fun to mess around with tunings.

I wonder how that passerelle would work on a 12 string guitar?
