Minolta MC/MD lenses are almost all stellar, excellent dollar:performance ratio. The 50 1.4 isn't the sharpest lens wide open, but they have a very lovely soft quality to them that lends itself perfectly to portrait photography. Stopped down to f2 and below, it's a very sharp lens.
Great system camera! Wonderful overview- You’re my “go to” when I acquire a new “old” fine Japanese camera- please review the XD-11… I’m new to Minolta, and the MD Rokkor seems fabulous Many thanks for what you do, too
I just started looking into professional SLRs and while everyone (nearly) has a Nikon F2, nobody has an X-1 / XK. Naturally, I want one!

I have the 1.4 on my XD11 and I have no complaints about the setup.

This caught me out. I fast forwarded three minutes, only to discover that it started just 30 seconds in this time!
Did you notice the preview lever can also be used to raise the mirror?
The MC Rokkor PG 50 f1.4 is the best 50 f1.4 of all the major Japanese manufacturers
I'm getting used to my Minolta Flash Meter V & see what looks like this in ybe manual foe yhe Booster II. I'd like to try 1
I was hoping you would pull out an XK Motor with a 40-80 f2.8 lever zoom.
This camera has aperture priority or full manual capability. It doesn’t do shutter priority.
Nice camera though 👍🏾
