    I love how at the end they mention that it's not a perfect and neat system, ecause some drugd could go into multiple of the said categories. I think that's just an important addition when learning aout and im glad they rought it up for everyone to notice :)
    great vid

    3 types of hallucinogens: dissociatives, psychadelics and deliriants

    • @ByzantineDarkwraith
      @ByzantineDarkwraith 5 років тому +4

      Preach! Also there's salvia divinorum, which contains kappa-opioid receptor agonists (look it up, it could be antag), which has insane and dysphoric effects which I would never call dissociative but some have inexplicably taken to calling an atypical dissociative. I would call it more of a deliriant, and anxiogen.

      @@ByzantineDarkwraith z class drugs are atypical too deliriants, psychedelics and dissociatives (zolpidem as an exemple)..
      Mixture of 3.

    mother of god! what an amazing lesson.... taught me how stupid it is to categorizes drugs like that... classify them as they are felt, lets collectively agree with that....!

    • @ByzantineDarkwraith
      @ByzantineDarkwraith 5 років тому +10

      There's much more nuanced methods of classification. I like to go with the Seven Recreational Categories, which I made up. Here we go.
      (Depressant)
      1: Opioids
      2: Sedatives (GABAergic Depressants)
      (Hallucinogen)
      3: Dissociatives (NMDA Antagonists)
      4: Cannabinoids
      5: Psychedelics (Classical Serotonergic)
      (Hallucinogen and Stimulant)
      6: Empathogens (Serotonin Releasers/Increasers)
      (Stimulant)
      7: Dopaminergic Stimulants
      (Perhaps also a category for Adenosine Antagonist Stimulants like Caffeine, as well as the Acetylcholine-affecting Nicotine)
      There's also two categories of psychoactive drug I would consider non-recreational. These are both hallucinogens. There are the deliriants, which make you delirious and actually believe that things which are not there are there, and see things, etc, most often spiders. These are typically anticholinergic and include diphenhydramine and atropine. Then there's salvia. It affects the kappa opioid receptor (not the mu-opioid, the one that feels good, which morphine activates), and produces bizarre and in my opinion terrible effects.
      This is a pretty good guide for your own recreational drug use purposes. When I get confused, I remember the big seven: Morphine, alcohol, ketamine, cannabis, LSD, MDMA and amphetamine. If you're on at least one drug from each category, you're doing well for yourself! (haha just kidding dont actually do drugs lol xd who would do that)

      Nowhere near as stupid as making Marijuana Schedule 1 - Schedule I drugs have no currently accepted medical use and aren’t considered safe to use even under medical supervision. They have a high potential for abuse and dependency. Meth, coke, morphine, hydromorphone, fetanyl are Schedule 2. Ketamine and steroids are Schedule 3. Benzos are Schedule 4. Of course this all makes perfect sense to classify pot at More dangerous than meth, benzos, coke, steroids and fetanyl. Your tax dollars at work !
