Another advantage of the spyglass is you'll see all their moves, so when they're charging up you can use the corresponding dampener to totally cancel their big attack 😁
So, I figured this out, the blue magatama's or "metal slimes" give glory, the gold ones give money, the red ones give side characters leveling mats, the black ones give your main character levels. I was able to get level 19 at the same zone he's at in this video.
holy shit you fixed your sound levels :p. I just went from a previous video of yours that I had to crank the volume way up for and then I came to this one and you jump scared me. This video has the correct audio levels.
I just got the game and started on hard, being familiar with Tensei III. I'm not too worried about the mechanics. But I did my first fusion stuff after opening realm of shadows. I think I accidentally got rid of my zio skill which is super useful early on. I thought I could add two skills, but the menu list looks misleading. So I instead ended up with additional health and mp, but it looks like I lost Zio and I think I just handicapped myself
About getting an elemental, you can actually get Erthys at level 9. Though at least with the demons I have fused you would need to have tsuchigumo. But I may be missing a character that lets met get Erthys before level 13.
@@ZeroOmega-vg8nq I’d definitely agree that it’s better then anything pokemon has to offer nowadays, I thought legends arceus was extremely overrated aswell but definitely better then whatever they had going on in gens 8 and 9.
@@Holy_Crusader i havent touched pokemon since they stopped the 3rd combined version of a gen so black 2. so when ORAS was a think my annoyance was massive that there wasny a delta emerald but all we get is the delta episode. i wanted to see kyogre and groudon getting chewed out by rayquaza in 3d damn it.
I can’t find a single video on this game with intelligent, clear explanations of its systems and nuances. I’m just gonna save a lot and do trial and error. 😂
Good tips. I will just add one side thing. Talking to demons when you have the same one to avoid battles works in other shin megami tensei games and many of the spin offs.
That spyglass advice was a bit over the top 😂 screenshotting a bosses weakness after using one, then restarting the game? Bro they’re 100 bucks, I walk around with 20 and that didn’t break the bank lol
@@purplatypus7405 ahh gotcha lol that makes more sense, kinda still wasting real-time reloading the game. Could just google it super quick 😂 I will say though, that last tip about the elemental magatsuhi skill and exp/macca farming came in clutch. Def gonna try that with the Mitama’s. Thanks man
He's right, though. Most end-game enemies are built around not letting you abuse weaknesses willy-nilly, or they dish out enough damage to force you to rely much more on status buffs and debuffs rather than just relying on weaknesses. Most endgame builds for dealing with superbosses also use Phys-based Almighty attacks or just regular Phys attacks alongside other buffs to nuke enemies. Abusing weaknesses falls off hard by the end.
You don't get more turns from exploiting weakness more than 4 times a turn. Yes damage can be better but if you have higher damage attacks or debuffs you don't need more than half of your turns to exploit a weakness.

These tips are so helpful. The game is a lot at first
7:35 - While Aeros is the first obtainable Element, the actual lowest level one is Erthys at 9, but the first fusion for it uses a Lvl.13 demon.

Picking this up this week. Still only halfway through octopath 2.

Love this channel and thrilled you're covering SMTVV LFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another note on Elemental demons: they can either rank up or rank down monsters within a family depending on what you fuse with it.
The spyglass tip is a lifesaver!!!!! I honestly just gave up on them
"this is a persona like combat"💀

It's very easy to get any skill on any u it you want with essences
@@purplatypus7405I'm cool. Things are going well. Until I finished the preta sidequest and the ever hungry little demons decided to mob me 😤😅

hmm strange looking Pokemon. (relax just joking) thanks for the video! very helpful for a new player like me!
It’s better then recent Pokémon games in terms of content and difficulty and quality.
dont worry most smt players playfully call the demon compendium the pokedex

What kind of video would be helpful? A full breakdown of the combat mechanics?

It's not about the $ it's about not needing to waste a turn in combat using the spyglass.

"this is a persona like"
smh. smt is the mainline series persona is the spin off thats mandela effected ppl. 😂
of course but since persona is 10x more popular it makes sense to assume more people are used to that combat and use it as a reference point
highly gotta disagree with not trying to exploit weaknesses as much as possible smt battle system is really built around that aspect lol

There's always a time and place for it, but not everything you do should be about exploiting weaknesses
This is a very strange minded gamer to say the least.
