Apparently the cyclops makes the Player immortal, just as long as the ship is still alive, and the player doesnt leave the wheel, I was starving in the lost river, and managed to make it back to the shallow zone, and then died as soon as I stopped piloting it because I had no food
I managed to reach below 8 km below, And I could have gone deeper. I used the cyclops, fully upgraded, to submerge, Then the Ghost leviathans attacked, but I lost them somewhow and continued my voyage. Past 2 km the sub experienced crushing damage, and fires began to arise, I used the fire control mod and continued, ignoring the fires, but soon after 4 km the ship integrity was beyond recoverable and was time to abandon ship. Then I reached for my PRAWN suit and escaped the now exploding submarine. It glitched a little bit, as it ejected me first, but I gained some speed and catched up to the mecha. Then it really sped up, it sank at an incredible speed. I was getting below 7 km in matter of seconds. As the PRAWN Suit experienced damage, I was snacking on cured fish and filtered water. And also preparing to use the Seaglide to continue the voyage into the unkown depths below. As the suit approached 3% integrity, the water suddenly disappeared and then the Aurora was infront of me. Then I hit the water... I was in the safe shallows, near the Pod 5. I beleive that I spawned at the very center of the map.

explosions are so satisfying in this game.. the sunbeam exploding in the atmosphere and raining down debris was amazing. and of course the Aurora explosion was epic
I want to add this in as an advanced technique you can use for specifically recordings - It's nigh impossible to do in real time without much more dedicated software and possibly hardware, but if you're specifically trying to do something like make a video where your audio is horrible, or whatnot, you can do this. Put your recording through a music composition/balancing/writing program, such as Logic, Reason, etc. - A lot of these support custom audio inputs as "custom instruments", which you can then edit with various effect modules - In my personal experience, this is WAY more advanced than most general editing software or voice changers/soundboards, and also doubles as a way to do budget autotune. The benefit of this is that you can actually make the audio sound absolutely horrible while still somehow being understandable, which is something that I don't see many people utilize. Or you can just make the worst audio you've ever heard. Something that sounds like what you'd imagine the inside of a black hole that was in the middle of hell would sound like.
