did you get jami from code orange too?????
i love how he called his kit a "death metal spaceship"
dude as a drummer that stuck with me for years after i saw this interview and ir makes sense, its like being in a master control unit
I have no idea what you're talking about, but, Hey, Trey! This is your aunt, Deede, talking. Yes, everyone, he was once a baby, and he's so handsome and talented.
😇
That's so brutal! \m/
Ah, my heart
Lol he’s a legend now
This is the most wholesome thing I’ve seen on UA-cam in a while.
Saw fetus couple months ago...trey sets up his own kit, he was in a rush to set up and he hit me in the back with one of the cymbal racks while walking up to the stage. I was honored lol
He sure does set up his own kit day in and day out.
That was just a hint to get the fuck outta way.lol
@@MrRick693 he's the wrong one to fuck with
Hey Mom I'n in a band. "That's nice son, what's the band name?"
DYING FETUS.
"Oh Dear...that's nice."
🤘
The king of brutal groove deathmetal druming
He's great!
Trey seems like a really nice guy, good drummer too and fits DF nicely.
Definitely agree!
When musicians are actual cool it makes you dog their tunes more
Trey is an awesome guy!
This guy seems really cool
He's great!
I bet:)
Him and the other band mates are way chill. I had the opportunity to chat with them for a few minutes after a show. Good guys.
Love Trey''s drumming, Dying Fetus' best drummer by far, eagerly awaiting their next album just hope it isn't another 5 years
Trey is great!
Johny cage was better
Trey great but Kevin Talley is fetus drummer
@@adamstaysick nah
@@adamstaysick hell nah, Talleys amazing but he was lacking in Fetus, and those albums are pretty poor back then writing wise. Talley stands out because the rest wasnt that great
Man I’m triggered I gotta listen to Dying Fetus right now
You should! :)
My fav.dm drummer..greetings from the philippines
Thanks for watching!
Underrated Drummer. His drumming style and cool fills compliment the brutal riffs of Dying Fetus
Trey is a machine. Brought a friend to a fetus show years back, she had never listened to anything faster than Metallica and was blown away. Nice guy too.
💯
And nobody is faster than Metallica if take their live performances from Seattle 89' , san Diego 92' and 88' Fight fire with fire. Metallica is untouchable but they are not Metallica now.
@@MadMaXCOD-pi4dy Fair point, they were definitely unreal in their prime.
Film Mgla drummer - Darkside. Killer drummer
I’m glad he’s using Korn Hats😂😂😂
😀😀
His look on the thumbnail pic. lol
:)
He seems like a nice dude to hang out with.
Definitely!
Love Fetus and love Korn.

Just saw Dying Fetus last night, these guys are incredible talent! And so nice! Trey was smiling the entire show
🤘🤘
He kind of looks like Ted ‘Nocturno Culto’ Skjellum from Darkthrone lol, mindblowing drummer.
Him and Kevin tally are beasts
🤘
He's so informative and goes so in depth. Awesome vid.
So glad you liked it Ben!
Cool kit man.
🤘
This guy is my ultimate benchmark if it comes to death metal drumming. Dude is on another level
This man is a beast on those drums
💯
I was really surprised when I realized they're on the floor at the *famous* Metro in Chicago, not often do you find metal bands under their roof.
A fair amount of metal bands play Metro, just not nearly as many as venues like Reggies though.
What’s not to love about fetus they’re crushing death metal and cool asf dudes with great senses of humor
💯
Dude, I didnt know how fucking hilarious he is...that or just drummer jokes really get me 🤣
He's a really funny and nice guy!
I'm honored i got to see Dying Fetus @ the Summer Slaughter tour 2017 @ The Palladium in Worcester Massachusetts . I've never saw them live before that and i have to say they ripped my fucking head off. 😵💨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨
They're a really good band live!
I appreciate your tour of the set
🤘🤘
Cool setup man.
🤘🤘
I just love watching professionals explaining tools and preferences of their profession, so relaxing. Makes me happy, but that could be trip talking, hehe.
But really cool guy, will put on some DF tomorrow, too harsh for right now..
🤘🤘
fucking love these guys
Great breakdown of his equipment. Love ❤️ this YT Channel as well!
Glad you enjoy it!
Gonna follow this setup
Phenomenal drummer! Steve and John, in my opinion, are very accomplished as well!
🤘
we adore trey for being one of the best death metal drummers, but we brutally love him for being a real cool dude.
🤘🤘🤘
Got to meet him a few times! He's a cool guy. Down to earth, humble and very talented!
Sick drummer and cool guy!

One of the best - you ROCK Trey!
🤘🤘
Love the Hakim snare. So underrated.
Thanks for sharing your opinion. Much appreciated!
No problem. I have a keyboard and a couple brain cells firing intermittently.
This guy is humbled and talented
The most dominant drummer in metal today!
He's great!
I'd add John Longstreth and George Kollias to this list.
RetroHabit82 Him and 66samus
In death metal maybe
King of Drums \m/
For sure!
Hands down one of the best drummers in his field 💪 if not THE best
He's great!
Love you guys
U are a huge inspiration to me
🤘🤘🤘
Amazing drummer, with great taste, groove, power, and sound. He puts a lot of various techniques into his playing vocabulary, which is so fun to watch. Go check him live! He is incredible!
... and as you can see in this short video, he is also very nice, well spoken dude :)
Thanks) nice video!!
Glad you liked it!
I really liked Mr. William's taste for Cymbals and drumset in general. I would like to ask him if he really thinks that Death Metal drummers, well, extreme death metal drummers cannot play without triggering the drums? What would a drummer sacrifice without using triggering or the opposite, what are we sacrificing ( just a way to say it) when using the triggers?
I watched several drummers whose bass drums didn't sound without the triggers, I'm not sure if you get me, the guys played really fast but the bass drums were totally "weak" without the triggers so that's why I'd like to ask a real master and expert in this area. I also have to say that I love this guy's transitions when playing and some of of his grooves are really impossible to follow! I meant, amazing. After several years these guys ( my humble thoughts) are finally got into an extraordinary level and own sound.
Great guy great player trey love from india 🤘🤘
I love Korn 🤘
I'm a beginner and was wondering, if you trigger your drums does it matter how high-end your drums are. It would seem like it wouldn't be necessary.
Where this guy’s endorsements? He’s too damn good to not have endorsements
I love that person :D
I hope he didn't end up with irreversible retina damage from that camera lighting.
👍
Can i have some Korn hats?
those cymbals sooooo dirty!
Thanks for watching!
Amazing
Glad you liked the video!
Super cool guy. He gave me a stick. And signed at another show
@@orlandopadilla2464 🤘
Killer video and Trey Williams and DF rules!
Glad you liked it!
You can tell he's such a nerd about his equipment and god damn they kick ass live
It's good to know a lot about the instrument you're playing, right?
I’ve got practically the same sizes. Does he use a regular hi-hat stand or is it like an auxiliary stand attached to the rack?
I'm not sure, sorry.
Thanks and no problem :) I saw an other video of his where he used a stand but attached to the bass drum.
Thanks anyway! I saw that he uses a two-legged stand and attaches it to the bass drum. Some people say that the vibrations from the bass drum make the hi-hats move while you're not playing them. At the moment I have just a regular three-legged stand next to the bass drum but you compromise playability since it can't go as close as the attached one.
Por vida!
Korn cymbal is goated. People will understand soon.
Korn is alright and ray lutzier is a beast of drummer (y)
Thanks for watching.
I have to disagree about the sticks. Keep the firths paired or they feel inconsistent. A friend got me around 60 pairs, let them get mixed up and I always end up using the heavier one w my snare hand. They are great sticks otherwise.
Best drummer ever. 👍
He's great!
Finally!
Hope you liked it!
Trey, you're amazing at drumming.keep up the brutal assault
Toronto! Round 2
Thanks for watching
Did you get John by chance?
Nope. Only Trey was interesting in filming with us. We've got a handful more videos with Trey coming soon though.
God damn. The beard and hair add like 15+ years 🤣
Ash Trey!!
Thanks for watching!
What kind of cymbal locks is he using?
If he didn't say it in the video, unfortunately I don't know the answer.
hail dying fetus
🤘
OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHGGGGGG
Lol, 6:14 I think its pretty safe to assume no one is hating on that. Imagen if it was a Poo Biters cymbal, or 7 Avenged Angels something. That would have been akward.
Thanks for watching.
Ты хороший парень и ударник!!!
He definitely is!
Got an Uber ride from his Dad the other day.....
Its absolutely insane his parents should have to work......
Damn no Jhon G?
Nope. Only Trey wanted to film. We talked to the rest of the band and they were really nice, just not the biggest fans of doing interviews.
Those 17 people who disliked the videos are angry Christian moms
💯
My snare is a pearl master 😎👍
Thanks for watching!
"Kinda...sssorry"
PLAY IT FASTER!!!!
i enjoy korn and i enjoy dying fetus so sue me
🤘
Yeeeeaaaaaahhhhh his hair is getting long!!!! Dude better spray paint over that korn logo though hahahahahahaha!!!!
That 14" stage hat sounds a little korny
Ba dum tss LOL
he looks a little like varg vikernes
Hope you enjoyed the video.
2:56 haha you can hear the camera man laugh lol
Very funny part of the video, but not sure where you're hearing the laughing. Just rewatched it and couldn't hear anything other than Trey.
Digital Tour Bus well he kinda does a "sniff" laigh haha, I think he was trying to hide it.
Haven't listened to DF yet.random click.lawd help me now....
What Evans snare batter head is he using?
hahahaha korn.
666 FUCKING LIKES
Hehe
Digital Tour Bus thanks
Being a drummer for a band named dying fetus would make it hard for companies to want to sponsor you haha. Just saying.
But when your band is as legendary as Dying Fetus is, it probably isn't that hard to get endorsements.
"See I'm in death metal so we trigger drums, right?" - kind of made me sad
It shouldn't have, because triggering you drums is exactly like the singer using a microphone. Especially when your drumming consists of ridiculous bpms that otherwise, would sound muddy. It makes your job easier and it sounds more tight.
It's not like triggers make a shitty drummer, a great one. You still have to play everything on time and be precise.
Imagine a singer on stage with no microphone.
Many a man has sat behind the death metal drum kit and crafted amazing powerful beats that helped define a genre, sans triggers. Triggering doesnt implicate poor playing either in my mind, but rather it creates a sound that is not to my liking, nor is it necessary for death metal drumming, which is why the statement above garnered the reaction from me that it did. Imagine a singer on stage with no autotuning is more your argument.
No, no, my argument is that it makes your job easier. The microphone amplifies the sound. I know it's not a 100% perfect comparison, because triggers don't amplify the sound.
I don't like the sound of triggered drums also, but sometimes they're necessary.
think of it this way though, you still have to play everything you hear
now, take someone who cant keep time, or is sloppy, and well, triggers make that bad playing more transparent.
Honestly, I absolutely hate triggers. Not because of the "it's cheating" thing (music is not a fucking competition), but because hate the über-artificial clicking sound most samples have. I like the natural sound of a real kick drum. If it sounds muddy, simply tuning up the drums should do the job. And comparing triggers with mics is absolutely wrong, cause guess what, when drummers don't use triggers, the kick is miced. And microphones are just a way to amplify the sound. If anything, triggers are much more comparable with synths. And I hate synths in metal (many other genres are fine, though).
Most expensive and sounds like a trash can 😂. Seriously! I just spent a ton of money to make a stack
😅
