Beterbiev WON 7-5 for me, 8-4 isn't impossible either & neither is a draw or 7-5 Bivol. There was like 4 rounds that could've reasonably went either way. Close fight, suck it up & petition whatever sanctioning body mandatory is due to allow for an undisputed rematch.

@@jaybrownprince9772 was really close that round and could of gone either way. I prefer to rule it a draw at the end of a round if I'm unsure, which I was in that round. I try to ignore the commentators as for me they often get it way off (not so much last night, but I didnt feel Bivol was 3-0 up after the 3rd round like they were saying for example) and it causes unnecessary post fight drama, like this fight!
Think it's a bit disrespectful to Beterbiev, Bivol wasn't robbed at all, he lowered the volume of his (crisp hitting) flurries in the second half of the fight and has only himself to blame , not the judges.
It was 116-112. You had to give Beterbiev all of the last 3 rounds for him to win on your card. Do you really believe that he won 10,11 and 12?

I have to admit that when they announced it, I thought they'd give it to Bivol. However, Before they announced it, I immediately thought the one judge was Way off regardless. Eddie Hearn made a strong point but then I listened to Teddy Atlas and his breakdown was very intriguing! I just know I'm a very happy fan! Love both the fighters!

I thought Bivol had the victory and was in disbelief and surprised with the final judges score card verdicts. I personally thougt the 116-112 was way off if i'm being brutaly honest. Bivol clearly won the first 3 rounds. Bertebiev applied most of the pressure from the 4th round onwards. Bivol threw fewer punches and was moving laterally in order to avoid the wrecking ball in the form of Bertebiev. Both fighters represented themselves well however, the final decision was fair.

I disagree with Dimitry on one point. He said it's not always about who lands the most punches, it's also about who's putting the pressure on and how the judges see it. I think it should be about who lands the most punches, taking into consideration if the punches landed are power shots to the head, jabs or body punches. Allowing other things into the scoring is leaving the door open for corruption and robbery decisions. If it's left to several ambiguous categories, then who can ever disagree with a decision, no matter how wrong it seems? If the punches landed totals are close, then other things can be considered. People come to see fighters punching each other, they don't come to see defense or ring generalship. The sport doesn't exist if 2 men aren't in there punching each other, and if one fighter clearly lands more punches, he should win the fight. That would help to eliminate some of the corruption in the sport.
A good example was seen in the Pacquiao/Horn fight. Pacquiao landed 180 punches, Horn landed 81. One judge had it 118-110 for Horn. The other 2 judges had it 116-112 and 115-113, all 3 for Horn. If there was the least bit of honesty involved, that could never have happened. The 118-110 score, given that Pacquiao out landed Horn 180 to 81, tells you corruption ruled the fight. I think Pacquiao landed more punches in 10 or 11 rounds, with one round even, yet that judge gave Horn 10 rounds, only 2 for Pacquiao. A 10 year prison sentence is about what that judge deserved. I wouldn't necessarily have to watch that fight to know that Pacquiao should have won. In a 12 round fight like that was, Pacquiao averaged landing 15 punches per round, Horn averaged 6 1/2 punches per round. How many rounds can a fighter really win if he lands an average of 6 1/2 punches per round, if the opponent averages 15 per round?
Some will say that it's not the overall total, but in how many rounds did one fighter land more. That's true, but I pay close attention and if one fighter has an advantage as wide as 180 to 81, you don't have to look at each round. There's no way a margin that wide wouldn't result in the guy with double the punches landed, landing more in at least 8 or 9 rounds. Even when punches landed totals are not that wide, let's say 200 vs 160, the guy with 200 almost always lands more in more rounds. Rarely does it work the other way around. The fighter that lands more should win, how can you argue against that, especially compared with nonsensical robberies that seem to have no rhyme or reason?
Bivol looks like he's been in a fight to me & Beterbiev won the fight IMO he was the aggressor all the way through .

We are seeing controversial decisions all the time. It's the nature of the sport. We need a change, if we want less similar situations. But maybe many people don't want such a change, because it will make influencing the decision harder, like it is implied with Kadyrov and the 116-112 judge. I would prefer if boxing is similar to other subjective sports like figure skating or gymnastics, where you have more judges (5,7,9) and the 2/4 outlier scores are omitted.
