Mark Pierce is why I wore #33 as a kid, the 4th and 1 TD run in this game is an iconic memory for me. I think he is easily forgotten by some hog fans since Hillis came in a couple years later. Anyway, this particular game is such a great example of why they were so fun to watch in the Matt Jones era.
I remember that game. We had so much talent. Honestly, that team , or the 2003 team , when we destroyed texas, we had the talent to win the title that season. We should have. I don't care how many folks disagree, but Nutt was a great Coach! We should have won a title in 98' and again in 99' , should have won in 03' and again in 06' & 07. At the end had Nutt let Gus do his thing, we would have. Hogs very well could have been a dynasty. But, I digress. Talley was a stud this game! We've had some awesome RBs over the years. It's why we were RBU for many many years.
I know it isn't in the highlights but I remember a #92 ( defensive lineman for Arkansas ) who looked like he broke or separated his hip right before halftime. At 4:07 on this video, was the play right after they carted him off the field and you could hear him yelling and screaming on the television and I can only imagine the pain of that injury.
I remember that. I believe it was a separated hip. I can't remember his name tho. It just so happened that one of the best hip Dr's in the country was an Auburn grad and was on the field and helped him if I remember correctly.
+Jonathan Davis Fred had been hampered by an ankle injury that dated all the way to high school. It had him in and out of games most of his college career
Jonathan Davis I wasn't hurt against Tenn. That was the excuse used for me not starting the 1st four games, but it was a lie. I think it's pretty obvious that I wasn't hurt a week prior to this game. There is no way I could run like this a week after being hurt. I was the leading rusher 3 straight years and never started the 1st 5 games. I'm just saying
One of my favorite all-time Hogs! Lots of fond memories, but I think my favorite run of yours was the TD gallop against LSU in the Miracle on Markham. Great run! Thanks for the memories, and sorry your talent was marginalized.
I'm a Tennessee fan, but I remember you and Cedric Cobbs always giving us fits. I was merely a child, just learning about football in those days. Nutt was exactly that, a nut. Never knew how to properly use his talent. Great to see you as a fan now, and your insight coming from a former collegiate athlete. Still never understood why we were y'alls other cross division rival, when they used to have two permanent crossovers. I guess so Arkansas could feel like they were still playing Texas every year.
Be nice to have a Fred Talley and a Matt Jones today (2019) with this type of fighting defense. Would Morris be able to coach this team or just continue to screw it up?????????????????????????????????
@F Teezy - I hate you- :) Good game against my Tigers in 2002. When we talk about old games that we lost - I always say" I think Fred Talley just scored agin".
Maybe 2024 Razorback Coaches and Players should watch this game and see the Fire and Passion it takes to beat Auburn!!!

I plan on doing a Pierce highlight vid at some point. He was pretty underappreciated.
@@WARMACHINE2013 that would be real cool.
Pierce was a stud. Absolute weapon. Even as a true frosh, he was a stud. It's such a shame what happened to him after football.
Fred Talley was a beast in this game
fred talley here, nice, war machine i need to get old game film.
Check your messages on here!
F TEEZY Holy shit! Is that really Ferrari Fred!?!?
Lol already. WPS
Bruh, I went to middle school with you at Judson Middle School in Longview.
I was just looking for this game yesterday! I even looked on your channel. Great minds think alike...

Arkansas o-line was pushing folks around
Wasn't this game the very next week after the Tennessee 6 overtime loss? Why didn't Talley get any carries in that game?
Jonathan Davis I think he was injured. I'm not sure though.

@Jonathan Davis I think we came home and lost to Kentucky the following week, but I'm not sure.

Welp I can't say I'm surprised by that.

If you need a Razorbacks fix on here WarMachine is the guy!
